Welcome to Break This Team: Monotype Edition! This is a thread where we will take a common team or archetype every week and figure out what can beat it! For the interest of the project in a Monotype environment, there will be one fairly major change to the formula: you can only submit cores for a type which is at a disadvantage vs the type of the team given. For example, I don't want a bunch of Water cores to beat a Fire team, I wanna see what Grass would need to beat it. This is done so that the project is challenging for you guys, and not completely simple.

Rules:

- Don't posts teams or suggestions for teams here please. PM me.
- Cores should consist of 2-3 pokemon which, of course, share a type. You will need to include a short description of what these mons will do to beat the team given (Think RMT pokemon description length). These Pokemon must come from the type's respective viability ranking found here.
- Standard Smogon and forum rules apply.
- Posting phase is from Monday to Friday, while Voting phase is on the weekend. However, I -may start or end a phase earlier or later if I need to.
- A user will feature in the Hall of Fame if they win a round more than 3 times.

Rimz answered Smeargle very well with his Espeon, and Jirachi handles Staraptor well, Gallade-Mega finished it off by help the team a ton, and also ruining the fake out factor of Mega Lopunny. Rimz however didn't really answer ditto amazingly.

Regardless I vote Rimz.

ok then thanks for your votes, there was a tie between Rimz and Confluxx, so i had to tie-break. therefore, the winner is...

Generic Flying Core, but with some gimmicks, like that Bulky Toge set. I prefer RestTalk Gyara to Offensive Sub/Taunt because of calcs ;) Togekiss are also bulky and can check Gardevoir, Hoopa and Victini, and handle Slowbro and Latias. Landorus is here to complete the core and also bring a electric immunity, and a good offensive pressure with Earth Power, Knock Off and Sludge Wave. When Victini is para'd it's easy win, Gyara or Lando finish the game.

252 Atk Victini Bolt Strike vs. 252 HP / 92 Def Mega Gyarados: 202-238 (51.2 - 60.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Mega gyara is there for the obvious DD setup and then to proceed to sweep by outspeeding everything bar victini and killing with crunch, sharpedo is there for special dark coverage, and it is a little surprise that it is a special set, and is there to pick off threats like mega Gardevoir with Destiny Bond, which it would not be able to 2hk0 with it's moves. Lanturn is there to eat up the Iron Head and Grassknot, thunderwave from both jirachi and slowbro, heal both sharpedo and gyara if they end up getting twaved because of the colburr berry. It is also an amazing pivot because it forces the switch on slowbro, and allows itself momentum on with volt switch, and it also eats up bolt strikes and special attacks thanks to its ability and bulk.

Well gyara 1hk0s the entire team with +1 crunch bar slowbro.
+1 252+ Atk Mold Breaker Mega Gyarados Crunch vs. 252 HP / 232+ Def Slowbro: 338-398 (85.7 - 101%) -- 6.3% chance to OHKO

Sharpedo doesnt do as well, but does a decent chunk
252+ SpA Life Orb Sharpedo Dark Pulse vs. 252 HP / 24 SpD Colbur Berry Slowbro: 175-208 (44.4 - 52.7%) -- 23.8% chance to 2HKO

This core, Hydreigon especially, can completely wreck this team. Taunt Hydreigon can prevent Mew from setting up hazards, which is gonna be especially useful for Kyurem so it can switch in and out with ease without worrying about SR. Mega Latias is the key player here to this core working, not only is it an incredibly bulky set up sweeper, but it can set up tailwind, so it and/or Hydreigon can wreck complete havoc. Kyurem was added seeing the core was weak to Hoopa-U, I needed someone who could check it.

Charizards Drought provides extra power for his Fire Blast, allows solar beam to hit in one turn AND weakens water-type attacks, what more do you want from that to counter this water team. Zapdos Volt Switch allows it to have momentum and switch in to Landorus and Charizard, also doing decent damage, the Defog which is pretty standard prevents its team to get affected by the hazards and the toxic is to wear down the bulky mons. CM Landorus basically cripples the hell outta his team, after one CM theres no switch-ins and it OHKOS Empoleon, Lanturn, Tentacruel
