CAP Stall - Pokemon to Consider and Discussion in General

The polar opposite of hyper offense, stall relies on using bulk to wear down opponents through Toxic, burns, hazards, Rocky Helmet, and other forms of passive damage. The selection of Pokemon viable in stall is a lot shorter than in more offensive playstyles, and it relies on each team member to be able to win, such as physical walls, special walls, clerics, something to disrupt opposing stall, checks to common offensive mons (like Aurumoth), and cores to wear down the opposing team. Feel free to post effective sets for stall and also discuss its impact in the CAP metagame.

Here's a sample set to get started:

Cyclohm @ Leftovers
Ability: Static
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SAtk (or 248 HP / 220 Def / 40 SDef)
Bold (or Calm) Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Discharge/Thunderbolt
- Dragon Pulse/Whirlwind
- Flamethrower
- Slack Off

Cyclohm is one of the premier physical walls in the CAP metagame. This is due to its ability to check common threats like Cawmodore, Talonflame, and Arghonaut. It can also form an effective core with Tomohawk, and its good Special Attack and movepool ensure that it isn't setup fodder. It can even deter opposing setup with Whirlwind. Overall, it's a solid choice for any stall team and unless your team is Mega Pinsir or Colossoil weak, there's little reason not to consider using this.

Chansey @ Eviolite
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Bold Nature
- Soft-Boiled / Wish
- Aromatherapy / Protect
- Seismic Toss
- Toxic

Chansey is an excellent choice for stall (not to mention it can still support balanced teams as well). It pairs well with Cyclohm, and together they can check a majority of CAPmons along with several other top threats in the metagame. Cyclohm checks dangerous setup sweepers and can phase them out, while Chansey can sponge Physical/Special hits alike with its Eviolite-boosted bulk. Chansey can keep itself and the team healthy with Wish and Aromatherapy, and can act as a status absorber with Natural Cure.

Threats to the core are strong Ground-types such as Colossoil and Landorus, who can cripple Chansey with Knock Off then strike both of them hard with Earthquake/Earth Power respectively.

Yes, Tomohawk gets that much room for his image.

Tomohawk @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 248 HP / 164 Def / 96 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Haze
- Taunt / Reflect
- Air Slash
- Roost

The pinnacle of Physical walls, Tomohawk carries out his judgment on lesser beings, leaving no Physical attacker alive or with dignity. Prankster Haze allows our lord and savior to strip the unworthy of their poorly gained stat boosts, while its Rocky Helmet brings them to their knees. Reflect severely diminishes the power of any challenger that may consider itself slightly worthy of taking our one true god on. Lastly, Air Slash strikes as a punishing blow, finishing off and mortally wounding anyone who stands in the way of the path of the righteous.

Tomo is love, Tomo is life
