The Duckbot-PorygonZ is a formidable Pokemon indeed, using the stinging sands to it's advantage - by freezing it in the middle of the desert? How can it just... absorb the heat from the ground itself? Whipping up a sandstorm that turned into hail, wave after wave of Blizzards crashed into Tempest-Dragonite, tarnishing it's sparkling Multiscales, as it roars in pain. But it's piety will not be denied. Both she and her trainer the Gym Leader prayed, and in their prayers, the Almighty answered. Evading the third attack from Duckbot-PorygonZ with a beautiful midair pirouette, Tempest-Dragonite fired a Focus Blast that blows apart her opponent's decoy and revealing it's camouflage module, before pummeling it with hits that could shatter Bricks and Break craters upon the sand.

"Now for the last stand," murmurs Texas.
"You know your chances are slim," smiled dogfish.
"I will bear whatever fate the All-Loving and All-Just sends my way."
"And I envy you for your faith. Truly. But it will not stop me from doing what I will do."
"... Come, then!"

Here goes nothing.

Extremespeed+Superpower ~ cool down (Extremespeed+Superpower) ~ Extremespeed+Superpower

If non-consecutive Protective/Evasive, Chill and push actions back
If Endure, change actions to Wrap ~ Superpower ~ Superpower starting from the Endure action

"That's agitating, the miss likely costs me the game. Not that that has ever happened before. Ha. Ha. Ha. Pretty much every option open is 1/3 to win, or simply leaves me open, this one is slightly higher in odds to win. By about 2%, but it's an improvement!"

Dodge ~ Substitute (15) ~ Blizzard

"Whatever the result good game. Pity I didn't have the arena correct on combos (Edit the full ruling into the gym thread op if you haven't already), since that would've changed my entire team, but whatever."

I made a mistake way back. Turns out Porygon-Z used up 1 less energy creating Substitutes being a Normal-type (see the round that KO'ed Tex's Hydreigon). So I'm adding it in now.

"Go, Tempest! Show him the Almighty's will!"

Tempest-Dragonite bugled a battle-cry, and rammed straight towards Duckbot-PorygonZ - only to choke on a mouthful of sand. Dogfish appears to be delighted - that Dodge program was suffering Engineer's Syndrome when he programmed it in weeks ago, because it would go from working perfectly to failing miserably and even freezing up Duckbot-PorygonZ within the span of two tries. That morning though, everything worked out fine for him.

"Again, Tempest!"

And the second attempt did produce a more fruitful results. Duckbot-PorygonZ was sent flying by the Brutal Burst of speed - but within 2 seconds yet another appeared behind Tempest-Dragonite to blow another freezing Blizzard back at Tempest-Dragonite! It seems that the programable Pokemon actually executed the Decoy Module - again!

The desperate look on Texas' eyes was instantly replaced by calm. "How is it that you can embrace the fate He willed upon you so easily?" asked Dogfish.
"Because He willed it so," was the answer.
"Then it's time to end this... Duckbot, Hyper Beam!"

note to zt, note your end of round stuff, I forgot I was cooling down without the note, and Dragonite is at -2 atk/spe from the combos

A worthy challenger for my first gym fight, perhaps fitting the game was decided on the roll of a dice.

Congrats challenger, continue on to greater heights!

Take a rest Dragonite, you did the best I could ask of you.

cool down ~ Draco Meteor ~ Agility (Evasive)

Hm, my bad - but I thought Superpower doesn't lower Attack and Defense if it doesn't hit?

In the aftermath of the battle, Texas calmly unpins the Cloverleaf Badge of te Deserts from his tunic and gave them to Dogfish. Despite the latter's curiosity in the Gym Leader's religion, he did not stay for afternoon prayers. After getting refreshments from Texas (as well as grudgingly replenishing his provisions with purchases from me), he set off back to the outside world. I wonder - after seeing such a magnificent match, clearly Texas is a powerful Pokemon Trainer, and a Dragon Master at that. Why would he forsake the trappings of human society and civilization, to come and live alone in the sea of sands with naught but his Almighty God?

... Perhaps that will be a story. But for another time.

Action 1:

Dogfish44: 2+5(Cyclohm) = 7 CC, Dragon Badge (5th Badge + 30 UC)
Hydreigon: 3 MC, 1 KOC
Porygon-Z: 3 MC, 2 KOC
