Rules: Ladder Match, Sleep Clause, Freeze Clause, OHKO Clause, Evasion Clause, Species Clause, Strict Damage Clause
masterike sent out Uxie (lvl 100 Uxie).
Coin Flip sent out Roserade (lvl 100 Roserade ?).

VS

(100%)-(100%)

Another Uxie, seems like they're everywhere. I'll go with my standard lead off, sleep it, even if it's choice scarfed it's crippled, and Roserade is actually a good Pokemon with choice Scarf, meaning I can revenge Salamence, Dragonite and bulky waters take a lot from Leaf Storm.

Uxie used Trick.
Uxie obtained Focus Sash!
Roserade obtained Choice Scarf!
Roserade used Sleep Powder.
Uxie fell asleep!
---

VS

(100%)-(100%)

Yeah, that's what I thought. Roserade is useless at this moment, because of Sleep Clause, so I'm gonna get some sand going with my revenge killer, Tyranitar.

masterike switched in Lucario (lvl 100 Lucario ?).
Coin Flip switched in Tyranitar (lvl 100 Tyranitar ?).
Tyranitar's Sand Stream whipped up a sandstorm!
A sandstorm brewed!
The sandstorm rages.
---

VS

(100%)-(100%)

Lucario can OHKO me with Close Combat, but I outspeed with Choice Scarf and kill with Earthquake. Let's go!

Tyranitar used Earthquake.
It's super effective!
Lucario lost 100% of its health.
Lucario hung on using its Focus Sash!
Lucario used Close Combat.
It's super effective!

Coin Flip's Tyranitar fainted.
(6-5)
Lucario's defence was lowered.
Lucario's special defence was lowered.

---

VS

(001%)-(000%)

You're kidding me. Oh well, let's finish the job with Roserade.

Coin Flip switched in Roserade (lvl 100 Roserade ?).
Roserade used Hidden Power.
It's not very effective...
Lucario lost 0% of its health.
masterike's Lucario fainted.
(5-5)
The sandstorm rages.
---

VS

(000%)-(093%)

That evens the score, even though I feel as if I'm setup bait now, what else could I do? I was anxious as most my team was bulky, and not that fast. I guess Rotom but he's invaluable to this team and Pursuit-bait, carried by Scizor, and some Metagross...

masterike switched in Metagross (lvl 100 Metagross).

VS

(100%)-(093%)

Damn! He's gonna Agility and sweep my team! I need to check it's moveset, so I'm gonna bring Mence in. I think he has a chance of surviving a Meteor Mash, and if he Ice Punches Rotom is a safe switch. Salamence OHKO's with Fire Blast, if I'm right.

Coin Flip switched in Salamence (lvl 100 Salamence ?).
Metagross used Agility.
Metagross's speed was sharply raised.
The sandstorm rages.
---

VS

(100%)-(093%)

Metagross lost 10% of its health.
Salamence used Fire Blast.
Salamence's attack missed!
The sandstorm rages.
Coin Flip's Salamence fainted.
(5-4)
---

VS

(090%)-(000%)

This hurts a lot... Well, it looks like he has T-Punch or Zen Headbutt. Bronzong can take some attacks and deal out some damage, I need to get it out now...

Coin Flip switched in Bronzong (lvl 100 Bronzong).

VS

(090%)-(100%)

masterike switched in Salamence (lvl 100 Salamence ?).
Salamence's Intimidate cut Bronzong's attack!
Bronzong used Earthquake.
It doesn't affect Salamence...
The sandstorm rages.
---

VS

(093%)-(100%)

Together Salamence and Metagross can really hurt this team. It seems I have to retire Bronzong with a bang.

Salamence used Fire Blast.
It's super effective!
Bronzong lost 64% of its health.
Salamence lost 10% of its health.
Bronzong used Explosion.
Salamence lost 84% of its health.
masterike's Salamence fainted.
(4-4)
Coin Flip's Bronzong fainted.
(4-3)
The sandstorm rages.
---

VS

(000%)-(000%)

I had to do it, if it was a DD Mence I would've been swept if I tried anythingg else, and odds are MixMence would've weakened me enough for Meta to finish the job. Anyways, Rotom is my choice here, as it'll scare off Metagross, even though it is only a Charge Beamer.

masterike switched in Machamp (lvl 100 Machamp ?).
Coin Flip switched in Rotom-h (lvl 100 Rotom-h).

VS

(100%)-(100%)

Machamp eh? Does it have Bullet Punch or Payback... please Bullet Punch... I'm begging you... Substitute is my best option here...

Rotom-h used Substitute.
Rotom-h lost 25% of its health.
Rotom-h made a substitute!
Machamp used Payback.
It's super effective!
The substitute took damage for Rotom-h!
Rotom-h's substitute faded!
The sandstorm rages.
---

VS

(100%)-(075%)

Aw crud, he does have payback. I'm gonna check for LO recoil. To do that I have to play to resistances. For that, there is only one Penguin for the job.

Coin Flip switched in Empoleon (lvl 100 Empoleon ?).
Machamp used Payback.
It's not very effective...
Empoleon lost 18% of its health.
The sandstorm rages.
---

VS

(100%)-(082%)

I had a brain fail here, keeping it in and subbing, I should've switched but nerves got the best of me, so I subbed.

Empoleon used Substitute.
Empoleon lost 25% of its health.
Empoleon made a substitute!
Machamp used Revenge.
It's super effective!
The substitute took damage for Empoleon!
Empoleon's substitute faded!
The sandstorm rages.
---

VS

(100%)-(057%)

Okay, back to playing to resistances. I have Roserade and Rotom to switch to, and getting some damage with a STAB Leaf Storm is awfully appealing right now...

Coin Flip switched in Roserade (lvl 100 Roserade ?).
Machamp used Revenge.
It's not very effective...
A critical hit!
Roserade lost 56% of its health.
The sandstorm rages.
---

VS

(100%)-(032%)

Useless critical hit, I'll be killed next turn anyways. Leaf Storm should do a chunk at least.

Roserade used Leaf Storm.
Machamp lost 53% of its health.
Roserade's special attack was harshly lowered.
Machamp used Ice Punch.
It's super effective!
Roserade lost 32% of its health.
Coin Flip's Roserade fainted.
(4-2)
The sandstorm rages.
---

VS

(047%)-(000%)

This isn't good, I'm at the wrong end of a 4-2 disadvantage. I better kill this Machamp or this game is over...

Coin Flip switched in Rotom-h (lvl 100 Rotom-h).

VS

(047%)-(075%)

Rotom-h used Thunderbolt.
Machamp lost 26% of its health.
Machamp used Payback.
It's super effective!
Rotom-h lost 66% of its health.
The sandstorm rages.
---

VS

(021%)-(009%)

Oddly, Machamp doesn't KO meaning next turn, I can kill it off. Still, it doesn't feel like 4-2, it feels like 3-1...

Rotom-h used Thunderbolt.
Machamp lost 21% of its health.
masterike's Machamp fainted.
(3-2)
The sandstorm rages.

VS

(000%)-(009%)

Starmie used Grass Knot.
The substitute took damage for Empoleon!
Empoleon used Agility.
Empoleon's speed was sharply raised.
The sandstorm rages.
---

VS

(100%)-(005%)
--------(Sub)

Hold on, last time he broke my Sub... awesome, random damage calculator was there for me when I needed it most. I know I can't OHKO Starmie even with Torrent +1, but with the Sub it doesn't matter. I'm sat at 5% though, so almost any priority move can finish me...

Empoleon used Surf.
It's not very effective...
Starmie lost 82% of its health.
Starmie used Grass Knot.
The substitute took damage for Empoleon!
Empoleon's substitute faded!

Thank goodness that thing didn't have Bullet Punch... Only Uxie stands in the way of an Empoleon sweep, but it can live a Surf still, I've gotta hope it stays a sleep!

masterike switched in Uxie (lvl 100 Uxie).
Empoleon used Surf.
Uxie lost 54% of its health.
Uxie is fast asleep.

This log was formatted using Warmachine Version 1.0

Pros:
  • masterike, for an amazing game.
  • All of the team apart from Salamence contributing to the victory.
  • Tyranitar, for setting up Sand and negating the Leftovers masterike had.
  • The random number generator, which without Empoleon wouldn't have been able to sweep.
  • Uxie, for staying asleep.
  • Empoleon, for being an amazing Pokemon.
  • You, for reading.

Cons:
  • Salamence, for missing Fire Blast
  • Him, running Focus Sash on his Lucario, if I'd got SR up I wouldn't have lost Tar, and wouldn't've had to sacrifice Bronzong to kill his Mence.
  • The random critical on Roserade, even though it didn't really matter.
  • Him, for not saying GG.

Thank you for reading.

Pretty bad battle with Revenge Machamp and shit (Guts isn't worth it). Comments weren't that good either. Moar practice.

Comments were really lacking, the battle looked fun but wasn't the best display of technical battling. Personally, as long as it is entertaining, I don't mind. I think it was a good first try but I think putting better comments and picking a little bit better battle would be good.

Good job for a first try, but hopefully you will continue to improve when posting warstories.

Some of the moves were quite odd, such as checking for LO recoil - a very uncommon item on Machamp, and Earthquaking a Bronzong immediately after it switches in...overall, I don't think it quite managed to be tense, even at the end. And there weren't any moves that were particularly clever - every turn seemed to just be focused on the two pokemon currently in play; there wasn't really any room for prediction with the brevity of the battle.

But I liked the formatting, it was clear and easy to read. The commentary wasn't too bad, and you have let us know some of your thoughts during the battle, although it did seem a bit abrupt with the lack of a real introduction. Anyway, we've had far worse warstories recently...so a nice try, but it might help to choose a better battle.

Also I like the title.

Revenge Machamp?

Surf/Ice Beam/Grass Knot Starmie with no Tbolt?

Hidden Power that doesn't hit Metagross super-effectively?

Meh battle, meh comments. It did interest me, though. Good job.

Not to bad. 6/10 the comments weren't awsome though.

@Darkamber8828 - He was probably running Hidden Power [ICE]. It isn't as rare or useless as you might think. My best Agility-Empoleon team used Roserade with it.

I don't mean to be too much of a dick, but: He was Empoleon weak and you somehow managed to set up on Starmie with an Empoleon, something which should absolutely not happen? I think it might have been interesting if the comments had been better, but the battle was awkward and badly played and not particularly interesting. One particular criticism that seems really glaring to me is why you didn't just bring Bronzong in on Metagross to begin with, on the Agility which could have been a Meteor Mash. It seems like a waste to risk 'mence like that, when it seems to me that Bronzong should pretty much wall most Metagross to begin with, setting up Stealth Rock/getting off Hypnosis, whatever yours is moved to do.

OK battle I guess.

Proof that Bolt >> GK on Starmie. It's not as if Starmie can't beat Swampert anyway with STAB Surf.

Dynamic Punch would've also owned Rosie. Revenge sucks.

Empoleon. Nice. It was okay. Is this your first Warstory?
If yes then you did great.
Very creative movesets. Originality always counts.

This match wasn't very well played and the comments were rather lacking.
This war story was kind of a waste of time to me, but keep trying!

while i approve of the use of an empoleon i can't say i liked the warstory. most of the comments were "Here's what just happened! Here's what I'm about to do next!" which is really uninteresting as you already get both of those things from the log.

Also it was really badly played from both ends, which didn't help.

Unfortunately, this sums up my thoughts pretty well. The comments were dull and lacking, and the battle was only "so-so". However, don't let all this discourage you; it was a good first attempt at a warstory. I'm looking forward to seeing better warstories from you in the future. :)

Chris is me pretty much summed it up for me too. You didn't really play the battle too well and most of the plays were bad. I mean, thinking Machamp doesn't have Payback? And then he uses Revenge with it? It was just a major turn off for me.
