Both trainers seem happy as there is still no duststorm on the horizon. Both of them give their elaborate, well thought out orders of ATTACK. Meticulous military strategy there. Caffie once again extends his tongue to sap Fafnir's precious life force, while the crocodilian pokemon performs a stimulating dance, raising its Attack and Speed stats. Caffie is still faster as he performs a scurrying U-Turn attack, followed up by a Fafnir brand Waterfall. Caffie sucks Fafnir's energy again, and Fafnir ends the round with a Waterfall.

Strategy isn't important when you have RAW POWER.

time to end this Caffie-Boy, put your meaniest face on, flex those muscles, sharpen your claw and attack with SUPERPOWAR. It should be strong enough to defeat this crocodile.

In case it doesn't work. For whatever reason. protect against the Aqua Jet and try SUPERPOW4R!!!1!1!11!!11 again.

so:

Superpower - Protect - Superpower

A Murkrow appears on the horizon and swoops down, confusing both pokemon before either can act. Caffie's confusion seems intense and Fafnir's is a lot lighter. Still no sandstorm though. Caffie uses all of its strength in a massive Superpower attack, critically hitting Fafnir and knocking it out in one shot. The attack used so much energy that Caffie's Attack and Defence stats are lowered by one.

Crap. Confusion. DAMN YOU MURKROWS!

Okay, time to get serious.

I know the chance of a sandstorm may kick us in the nuts, but let's go for the big guns. Unleash thy strongest blizzard!! While it's movement is impaired by the attack, get close and try to leech his life. Finalize, if you are still around, with another blizzard. Regardless if the sandstorm brewes or not...we will take our chances.

So:

Blizzard - Leech Life - Blizzard

For the first time in what seems like years, a sandstorm brews on the horizon, as LupusAter sends out a Snivy called Nidhogg.

Both trainers then begin their actions, but neither is able to act before another unlikely Murkrow swoops down to lightly confuse Nidhogg. Certain no more distractions are coming, Frosty starts off the round ordering a Blizzard, and even though the move is used through the confusion, it misses Nidhogg completely, who hits himself in his confusion Caffie then runs to the Snivy to hit it with a supereffective Leech Life, but Caffie hits itself instead! Nidhogg then retaliates with an Aerial Ace which proves too much for Caffie.

Okay Ruki, let's make this short and sweet.

Starting by preparing a Flame Burst and quickly fire it as soon as you see a seed forming. Use it to burn the seeds to a crisp and hopefully get some residual damage going on that Snivy.

Then, dug a small hole and stick your head in it, so you don't have to look at Niddhog's ugly face. Keep your ears out, though.

Finally, when you hear footsteps toward you, take your head out of the hole and fire you strongest Fire Blast at that Snivy.

So:

Flame Burst at the seeds - dig a hole and put your head on it to avoid glare - Fire Blast

Non-RP: According to my calcs, the Fire Blast was supposed to deal 22.5 damage ((12 + 3) x 1.5), leaving Niddhog with 59 HP. Did something happen?

RP:

Let's make this short and sweet, Ruki. Start by use Fire Spin to surround yourself with a fire barrier to be protected from Leech Seeds and to activate your Flash Fire. Then confuse Nidhogg with a Confuse Ray. We don't want any tricks ruining our day. Finalize by using Fire Spin again, only this time on Nidhogg.

So:

Fire Spin on self to activate Flash Fire and avoid Leech Seeds - Confuse Ray on Nidhogg - Fire Spin on Nidhogg

Another round without a sandstorm in this Saharan arena. Ruki gets things started by shrouding herself in flames, activating her Flash Fire ability and protecting against any plant-based attacks that would come her way. Plant based attacks are not what come her way however, as Nidhogg Taunts and laughs about her stupid pointless tail, how her only competitive viability is locked and how lacklustre she is compared to her beautiful evolution. Ruki seems determined to fight now, and she is so enraged that her attempt to Confuse Ray Nidhogg fails, allowing him to Glare at her, paralysing the Vulpix with fear. Now the faster pokemon, Nidhogg tries another Slam, but his attack misses, allowing Ruki to end the round with a boosted Fire Spin, which sadly misses its target.

Okay Ruki, the paralysis may be a bitch, but try to overcome it, OK?

Start with the big guns, with the strongest Fire Blast you can muster. We must finish this before it get too ugly. After that trigger the Mirror Coat with a Fire Spin. It will hurt a bit, but you can take it. Finalize with another Fire Blast only if Mirror Coat was used on the last action. If Mirror Coat wasn't used for some reason, use Extrasensory instead, and if you don't manage to trap it with Fire Spin, Fire Spin again.

Translating:

Fire Blast - Fire Spin - Fire Blast
If Fire Spin hits, but Mirror Coat isn't triggered -> Replace the second Fire Blast with Extrasensory
If Fire Spin doesn't hit or Full Paralysis kick in instead -> Replace the second Fire Blast with Fire Spin

For the first time in what seems like ages, a sandstorm brews in the deserted arena (no pun intended). The Snivy starts the round with an aggressive dance, as if practicing for Step Up 3, which seems to have raised his Attack stat by two stages. Ruki tries a Fire Blast, but her muscle spasms are too powerful and she is unable to move. Nidhogg then prepares a Mirror Coat to reflect the oncoming Fire Spin, and Ruki's attack hits home and is bounced back. Nidhogg is trapped in a cage of fire, and is damageed as he rushes in, trying to whack poor Ruki with his tail, but his monocle has failed him, as he misses completely, allowing Ruki to use a Fire Blast, which finally hits the Snivy.
