Furret

QC: Raiza / TONE114 / Magnemite
GP: P Squared / The Dutch Plumberjack

[OVERVIEW]

Furret is completely outclassed by most other Normal-types in the PU metagame such as Stoutland and Sawsbuck due to its mediocre bulk and Attack, but it is able to distinguish itself with its access to Trick and U-turn along with Frisk, which allows it to scout out its foes and gain fast momentum. Its has decent coverage moves in Knock Off and Brick Break, allowing it to hit Pokemon such as Misdreavus and Probopass. In spite of all of these advantages, Furret is still extremely outclassed and shouldn't be used in a competitive nature. Overall, it is very weak and is easily taken out by common Pokemon in the metagame such as Poliwrath and Piloswine.

Moves
========

U-turn allows Furret to gain fast momentum and get off chip damage against Pokemon such as Piloswine and Machoke, which can take other hits from it. Double-Edge is Furret's strongest STAB move and can deal a lot of damage to neutral targets, but it inflicts recoil in return. Alternatively, Return can be used to avoid recoil, but it is weaker. Knock Off allows Furret to take on Ghost-types such as Misdreavus and Gourgeist-XL, as well as cripple bulkier foes such as Torkoal and Tangela. Trick allows Furret to cripple bulkier Pokemon such as Tangela and Clefairy by forcing them to be locked into a single move. Alternatively, Brick Break allows Furret to hit Steel- and Rock-types such as Probopass, Pawniard, and Golem.

Set Details
========

Maximum Speed investment along with a Jolly nature and a Choice Scarf allows Furret to be as fast as possible, outspeeding Pokemon such as Ninjask and Zebstrika. With maximum Attack investment, Furret can hit as hard as possible, being able to OHKO Pokemon such as Raichu with Double-Edge. Frisk is Furret's most useful ability, allowing it to scout out what item its foe has.

Usage Tips
========

Due to its high Speed with a Choice Scarf, Furret should be used to revenge kill weaker Pokemon. Double-Edge should be Furret's main attacking move, as it is its strongest, though Furret should be wary of recoil. Furret should not be switched into strong attacks, as it is very frail and takes a lot of damage from even neutral attacks. Furret can switch into Ghost-type attacks from Pokemon such as Misdreavus, but it should be wary of Will-O-Wisp. If the foe has a Pokemon that can take hits from Furret, such as Torkoal, it should use U-turn in order to gain momentum and switch into a Pokemon more suitable for dealing with the foe. U-turn can also be used to avoid Ghost-, Rock-, and Steel-types while not having to predict an opposing switch. If Furret no longer needs the Speed boost from its Choice Scarf, it can cripple bulkier Pokemon such as Lickilicky and Gourgeist-XL with Trick.

Team Options
========

Furret best fits on offensive teams for its ability to revenge kill faster foes and cripple bulkier foes with Trick. Furret appreciates Stealth Rock, Spikes, and Toxic Spikes support from Pokemon such as Piloswine, Probopass, Roselia, and Whirlipede, which can help to rack up extra damage on its foes. Pokemon with access to Volt Switch and U-turn such as Zebstrika and Ninjask can form a VoltTurn core with Furret, which allows it to constantly keep up momentum, while slower Pokemon with Volt Switch or U-turn such as Probopass and Pelipper are also helpful to get Furret in safely and without it taking unnecessary damage. Pokemon such as Barbaracle and Poliwrath appreciate Knock Off support from Furret in order to beat Pokemon such as Tangela and Clefairy, respectively. Pokemon that can take on Fighting-types, such as Clefairy and Pelipper, are helpful to Furret, as that is its only weakness. Rapid Spinners and Defoggers are helpful to Furret in order to prevent it from being worn down quickly. Slower teams appreciate Furret's revenge killing capabilities in order to take on the metagame's faster Pokemon, such as Zebstrika and Jumpluff. Furret appreciates wallbreakers such as Machoke and Grumpig, which can weaken foes to the point where Furret can revenge kill them.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Furret can also make use of a Choice Band set for more power, but it lacks the Speed to take on the faster Pokemon in the PU metagame. Furret can also make use of a non-Choice item with Sucker Punch, which allows it to pick off weakened Pokemon. It can also make use of its wide array of coverage moves, such as Aqua Tail for Piloswine, Fire Punch for Tangela, Ice Punch for Torterra, and Thunder Punch for Pelipper.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Fighting-types**: Fighting-types such as Poliwrath and Machoke can take multiple hits from Furret and retaliate with a super effective Fighting-type STAB attack to KO it, although they don't appreciate having their items removed by Knock Off.

**Status**: A burn from Will-O-Wisp or Scald halves Furret's Attack, making it much weaker and unable to take on most foes; Toxic can wear down Furret and put it on a timer, forcing it to switch out; and Thunder Wave can slow Furret down immensely.

**Rock-types**: Rock-types such as Golem and Barbaracle, although hit hard by Brick Break, can take Furret's STAB attacks with ease, and the former can set up Stealth Rock on it while the latter can set up a Shell Smash on it.

**Steel-types**: Steel-types such as Probopass and Pawniard are able to take Furret's STAB attacks but are unable to switch into Brick Break; the former can set up Stealth Rock on Furret locked into a STAB move while the latter can set up a Swords Dance.

**Physically Defensive Pokemon**: Pokemon such as Torkoal, Tangela, and Gourgeist-XL can take many hits from Furret with ease and set up Stealth Rock on it or cripple it with Will-O-Wisp, respectively, although Furret can cripple them with Trick.

**Faster Pokemon**: Pokemon that are faster than Furret, mainly other Choice Scarf users such as Raichu and Sawsbuck, can take advantage of Furret's low bulk and KO it with ease; once Furret has used Trick and gotten rid of its Choice Scarf, it is also outsped by non-Choice Scarf foes.

[OVERVIEW]
mention why it is outclassed
talk more about furret's niches, and what they provide to it(ie: a way to gain momentum and deal with walls etc.)
mention its mediocre bulk
mention that its rather weak attack make it underwhelming as a revengekiller compared to other choice scarf users

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========
wouldn't say return is FAR weaker, just weaker.
knock off doesn't ''wear down'' bulkier foes, it cripples them
when talking about trick replace machoke with something else like tangela, as machoke isn't a really good example

Usage Tips
========
mention double-edge should be used most times as it is furret's strongest attack and has nice coverage though it still has to be weary about abusing it bc recoil
mention u-turn could also be used to catch off guard an opposing switch to a ghost-/rock-/steel-type, otherwise you can go for knock off/brick break but it's rather risky

Team Options
========
mention this fits best on offensive teams
mention slow voltturn users bc can bring it in w safety
mention pokemon that appreciate walls such as tangela or clefairy crippled by trick/knock off

Checks and Counters
===================
add a category for faster pokemon, as this is still outspeeded by a lot of scarfers and can lose scarf by itself bc of trick, and its defenses are so mediocre that it is KOd easily even against non SE coverage

In Team Options, combine the third and fourth points as they both talk about Volt Switch and U-turn users. You can also mention wallbreakers that can make it easier for Furret to revenge kill foes in a weakened state.
2/3.

make the overview way more negative; furret is a horrible mon and the overview should reflect that a lot more.

mention physical walls like tangela in c&c

do these and i'll look at the overview again and stamp.

just make the sentence at the end something more negative, like "in spite of these advantages, furret is still a bad and outclassed pokemon that should almost never be used" or something.

ALTERNATIVELY if it can revenge kill for some other reason, such as its Speed, mention that somewhere!) its foes, (RC) and gain fast momentum. Its has decent coverage moves in Knock Off and Brick Break, allowing it to hit Pokemon such as Misdreavus and Probopass.
