[OVERVIEW]

Garbodor is the best Spiker in NU, as it can reliably set up Spikes throughout the match thanks to its bulk and typing. Its mono-Poison typing allows it to switch into a lot of common Pokemon such as Lilligant while checking a plethora of physical attackers such as Sawk, Kangaskhan, and Scyther. Its all-around natural bulk allows it to survive a lot of repeated hits while chipping away at the foe's health via Rocky Helmet damage. It also isn't setup fodder, as it hits hard even uninvested with its base 95 Attack and a high powered STAB move in Gunk Shot. When it's done doing its job, Garbodor's ability Aftermath allows it to check contact attackers, potentially weakening a Pokemon enough to be revenge killed. Garbodor's lack of reliable recovery means it can get worn down really quickly, and it won't be able to continue to do its job of checking physical attackers. Its mono-Poison typing is also a double-edged sword, as it gives great resistances to Bug and Fighting, but also gives Garbodor common weaknesses in Ground and Psychic.

Moves

Spikes wears down grounded Pokemon with residual damage very quickly. Toxic Spikes helps wear down bulky, defensive teams much faster, as they usually have a method of recovery. Seed Bomb can be used instead to nail Rhydon, Claydol, and Quagsire, all common Pokemon that resist Gunk Shot. Gunk Shot hits anything hard that does not resist it, is boosted by STAB, and has a chance to poison Xatu, preventing it from repeatedly switching in and bouncing back entry hazards that Garbodor tries to set. Drain Punch is specifically for Steel-types, such as Pawniard and Klinklang, and it hits Sneasel if you don't want to risk a Gunk Shot miss. Haze is another option, as it gets rid of boosts from Steel-types that try to set up on Garbodor such as Mawile and Klinklang as well as Pokemon such as Gurdurr, Scyther, Samurott, and Malamar. Toxic is yet another option that can wear down bulky Ground- and Psychic-types as well as levitating Pokemon that tend to switch into Garbodor, such as Mesprit, Uxie, and Mismagius.

Set Details
========

96 Speed EVs let Garbodor outrun neutral-natured fully invested base 55 Speed Pokemon, such as Exeggutor and Cacturne. 136 Speed EVs, however, can be used to outpace Adamant Pawniard. Maximum HP investment gives Garbodor stronger bulk. The remaining EVs are put into Defense with an Impish nature allowing Garbodor to better punish users of physical contact moves, such as Scyther and Sawk. Aftermath makes Garbodor an emergency check to physical attackers that rely on contact moves. Rocky Helmet inflicts chip damage, which can not only prevent spinners from removing entry hazards unless they want to take a lot of recoil damage, but also wear down the opponent's team overall. It also can break Sawk's Sturdy if you are unable to get entry hazards up. Black Sludge can be used instead to give Garbodor some passive recovery and cripple Trick users such as Rotom and Mismagius.

Usage Tips
========

Garbodor should set either entry hazard depending on the opposing team. If the team relies on their bulk to check Pokemon, Spikes can wear them down quickly; however, teams that have no way to get rid of status or a team without a Poison-type will hate Toxic Spikes, as it wears them down with consistent passive damage. Only use Drain Punch on frail threats, as even bulky Rock-types such as Regirock and Rhydon can easily take it, and laying down a layer of Spikes or Toxic Spikes is usually more beneficial. If Garbodor carries Seed Bomb, common switch-ins such as Rhydon and Quagsire are worn down to the point where they can be finished off by the team, as they both lack forms of reliable recovery. If Garbodor carries Haze, it can set up entry hazards against Gurdurr and Malamar without letting them get the upper hand. Garbodor's main niche compared to other Spikes users, such as Cacturne and Crustle, is its ability to last throughout the match, acting as a pivot with solid bulk and damage output, making it the best Spiker for most teams by far. Garbodor can also switch into a lot of contact moves and physical attackers unlike Cacturne or Crustle and force them out, allowing it to use Gunk Shot against the switch-in or set up a layer of Spikes or Toxic Spikes. Common Pokemon that Garbodor can get chip damage on, such as Kangaskhan and Hariyama, can opt to use Earthquake, bypassing Aftermath and Rocky Helmet while doing massive damage to Garbodor, so it's advised to scout for coverage moves on physical attackers that Garbodor usually checks. Finally, if Garbodor's HP is low and it has done its job, you can sacrifice it to a contact move-using Pokemon, such as a weakened spinner, to deal massive recoil via Rocky Helmet and Aftermath to the attacker, which means that the entry hazards cannot be spun away if the spinner dies.

Team Options
========

Ghost-types are good partners, as they can spinblock. Rotom can provide momentum with Volt Switch, and Mismagius can prevent Defog as well thanks to Taunt. Defiant users, such as Pawniard and Primeape, can be really useful, as they gain a +2 Attack boost from Defog. Dark-types, such as Liepard, can beat up on the Ghost- and Psychic-types that resist Garbodor's attacks or hit them with a super effective STAB move. Sneasel is a particularly good partner, as it can Pursuit trap Xatu, allowing Garbodor to have an easier time with setting up entry hazards. They also appreciate a bulky Pokemon that resists Fighting-type moves to fall back on. Water-types such as Life Orb Samurott can destroy the Rock- and Ground-types that can hurt Garbodor while Garbodor takes Grass-type moves aimed at Samurott. Bulky Ground-types such as Rhydon and Claydol can switch into Poison-types that try to switch in and absorb Toxic Spikes and keep up offensive pressure and momentum. Psychic-types such as Uxie, Mesprit, and Xatu can force all Poison-types out, as some, such as Weezing, are immune to Ground-type moves thanks to Levitate. Fletchinder also appreciates Spikes support and can take the Ground-type moves thanks to its Flying typing. Garbodor can also wear down Fletchinder's checks and counters with Seed Bomb.

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Spikes wears down grounded Pokemon, as Garbodor can force a lot of switches. Gunk Shot hits really hard with investment in Attack, always nabbing the 2HKO on Pokemon such as bulky Xatu. Drain Punch allows Garbodor to hit Steel-types, such as Klinklang and Pawniard, hard while gaining a decent amount of HP. Seed Bomb, with the investment, can secure 2HKOs on Quagsire and Rhydon while denting Claydol significantly, which otherwise can force Garbodor out with their Ground-type STAB. Toxic Spikes is nice to pressure more defensively oriented teams. Explosion is helpful to block Rapid Spin and can hit spinners such as Claydol fairly hard and can block Defog, allowing Garbodor's entry hazards to continue to apply pressure to the opposing team.

Set Details
========

Maximum Attack and Speed EVs allow Garbodor to outspeed a lot of Pokemon and hit them harder. An Adamant nature allows Garbodor to hit Pokemon such as Xatu and Rhydon a lot harder than it could with a Jolly nature; however, a Jolly nature can help Garbodor outspeed Pokemon such as Adamant Sawk, Modest or Mild Magmortar, and neutral-natured Mesprit. A Jolly nature also needs to be used with Explosion to outspeed Modest maximum Speed Claydol and block its Rapid Spin. Aftermath allows Garbodor to check physical attackers, such as Klinklang and Hariyama. Rocky Helmet inflicts chip damage to punish physical attackers. An alternate EV spread of 168 HP / 124 Def / 216 Spe with an Impish nature outspeeds maximum Speed Samurott and is still decently bulky. It's a better spread on offensive teams that need a bulkier pivot that doesn't completely lose momentum when Samurott comes on the field.

Usage Tips
========

Garbodor can be more lenient with its choice of moves because, with the Attack investment, it can proceed to surprise the opponent's common checks to Garbodor such as Rhydon and Quagsire. Garbodor beats the common Pokemon that can either spin away or block entry hazards better with the offensive investment. 252 Speed EVs allow Garbodor to outspeed a lot more Pokemon, giving it the ability to set up Spikes on more targets. This set can be a useful pivot on offensively oriented teams, as it has decent natural bulk and power to hit spinners and Defoggers that may give offensive teams trouble. Garbodor still has a niche over other offensive Spikers, as it can switch into attacks, unlike Cacturne and Crustle. Garbodor can also wear down the foe more quickly with its offensive investment along with Rocky Helmet and Aftermath. Common physical attackers that Garbodor gets chip damage on, such as Kangaskhan and Hariyama, may opt to use Earthquake, bypassing Aftermath and Rocky Helmet; however, offensive Garbodor can 2HKO both, meaning that most physical attackers that try to get around the chip damage are going to be 2HKOed by Gunk Shot. If Garbodor is low on health, and it has done its job, this set still works as an emergency check to a powerful physical attacker, taking around 41% of their health away with Rocky Helmet and Aftermath damage.

Team Options
========

This set is more useful on bulky offense teams, as it can keep up the offensive pressure while still laying down entry hazards effectively. However, pure offensive teams appreciate Garbodor's ability to switch into a lot of threats and force them out. Pokemon such as Kangaskhan, Sneasel, Klinklang, and Archeops appreciate their checks being worn down so that they can continue to pressure the opponent. Pokemon that appreciate Spikes support, such as Klinklang, can be great partners, as Spikes tends to wear down their checks while Garbodor's offensive pressure means that it can keep up with the pace of the team. Volt Switch and U-turn users, such as Scyther and Rotom-S, appreciate the entry hazards, as they tend to force a lot of switches and can keep up offensive pressure. Defiant users such as Pawniard can deter Defoggers from getting rid of your entry hazards while Malamar can actually increase its evasion thanks to Contrary. Spinblockers, such as Rotom and Mismagius, can also keep entry hazards up and pressure the opponent with the momentum that Volt Switch gains or set up with Nasty Plot. Both Rotom and Mismagius appreciate Spikes wearing down their checks. They both also have access to Levitate, allowing them to switch into Garbodor's Ground weakness with ease. Fletchinder appreciates Spikes support and is immune to Ground-type moves thanks to its Flying typing. Garbodor can also wear down Fletchinder's checks with Seed Bomb.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Rock Polish can allow Garbodor to set up and sweep, as it has decent Attack and Speed stats. It also has plenty of coverage to pick what it can beat, which can make it a really great late-game cleaner. Clear Smog allows Garbodor to deal damage while resetting a setup sweeper's stats; however, Garbodor also has access to Haze, which allows Garbodor to reset the boosts of Steel-types such as Klinklang and Mawile that are immune to Clear Smog. Pain Split is an option to give Garbodor a form of semi-reliable recovery, although Drain Punch provides recovery as well as coverage on Steel-types that are immune to Garbodor's Poison-type STAB moves. It also has access to a wide special movepool with moves such as Thunderbolt to hit Pelipper, Swanna, and Mantine hard, Giga Drain to have recovery while hitting Water- and Ground-types hard, and Focus Blast to hit Ferroseed harder; however, Garbodor has roughly the same coverage in its physical movepool along with a better Attack stat.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Xatu**: Xatu has Magic Bounce to bounce back entry hazards from Garbodor, can recover the damage taken from Gunk Shot with Roost, and can threaten it with a STAB-boosted Psychic. It does, however, dislike a potential poison from Gunk Shot as well as the guaranteed 2HKO from offensive Garbodor.

**Psychic-types**: Pokemon such as Mesprit and Uxie can outspeed and KO Garbodor with a STAB-boosted Psychic. While both are usually bulky enough to take a hit, Mesprit is outsped and 2HKOed by offensive Jolly Garbodor; however, Uxie can reliably tank Gunk Shot but doesn't like getting poisoned.

**Bulky Ground-types**: Ground-types resist Gunk Shot, as not all Garbodor carry Seed Bomb while obviously all carry Gunk Shot, so Rhydon, Stunfisk, Torterra, Sandslash, and Quagsire can all take a Seed Bomb from bulky variants and proceed to force Garbodor out with their STAB moves.

**Special Attackers**: Pokemon such as Magmortar and Samurott can threaten Garbodor out with a powerful STAB move, leaving it very weak for the rest of the match. However, neither of them can switch into offensive Garbodor, as Garbodor 2HKOes Samurott while outspeeding it and can OHKO Magmortar after taking Stealth Rock damage.

**Taunt Users**: Pokemon such as Archeops, Mismagius, and Haunter all outspeed any variant of Garbodor and prevent it from setting up Spikes while resisting its STAB move. Haunter also doesn't fear being poisoned by Gunk Shot.

Make the set name "Spikes" pls, no need for custom names lol

I know this is WIP, but remember to add an offensive set.

Also I'd like to see haze slashed somewhere on the set (we can figure out where exactly later) since its compatible with spikes and tutor moves thanks to ORAS. Super helpful for the likes of Malamar, gurdurr, etc

Hm, this needs a bit of work.

In the overview be sure to stress that it is the best Spikes user in the tier at the moment (and probably will be for quite some time), and give the overview a better tone considering that Garbodor is most likely moving up to A+ and is easily one of the best A ranked Pokemon at the moment. This is due to the decreasing number bulky ground types left in the tier, which will be increased with the tier shifts.
  • Decent defensive typing
This is very vague, add here that it's typing gives useful resistances to check common threats such as [x, y, and z]
  • Can be set up bait for Pokemon such as Malamar and Gurdurr without Haze
Gurdurr has quite a bit of trouble against Garbodor anyways since even with Eviolite and such Gunk Shot does a decent amount and it will hurt itself a lot in the process of trying to take down Garbodor coupled with the fact that it wont be recovering that much with a resisted Drain Punch. The Malamar example makes sense, but I'd like to see this point removed from the overview since it's way too specific.

Name the first set "Defensive Spiker" because there is an offensive set, small overlook on my part.

Moves:
  • Spikes is the crux of this set, crippling a lot of Pokemon and wearing them down really quickly.
This is more of a GP thing (but it bothers me too lol) but remove the bolded part since its just fluff. Specify that Spikes wears down grounded Pokemon, not just "a lot of Pokemon".
  • Toxic Spikes also helps wear down the opponent, but can also bait Pokemon such as Gurdurr out as it gets a boost from the poison thanks to Guts.
Be specific in saying that Tspikes wears down bulkier Pokemon much faster, and the Gurdurr example is really weird. It doesnt really bait in Gurdurr since it's not switching in on Garbodor, it just benefits from the Poison but should be removed from the sentence.
  • Gunk Shot allows Garbodor to hit switch-ins such as Xatu and to not be Taunt fodder.
This is also worded a bit oddly, as saying switch ins such as Xatu implies there are others. It would be better stated along the lines of "Gunk shot is a powerful stab move that hits hard on anything that does not resist it, and the potential poison chance punishes Xatu from repeatedly switching in". I removed the part about Taunt because the most common Taunt users resist Gunk Shot.
  • Drain Punch provides some form of recovery while Seed Bomb can be used if Toxic Spikes is wanted.
This is a very common misconception, Drain Punch is not used for the recovery, that is just a small added bonus. Drain Punch is specifically for Pawniard and Klinklang, and hits Sneasel if you dont want to risk a miss.
  • Haze is another option as this prevents Pokemon such as Gurdurr or Malamar from setting up on Garbodor.
Haze does not prevent Pokemon from setting up, it removes their boosts. Taunt prevents setup, just to clarify. There are some other examples you could throw in here like Scyther, Samurott, etc.

Set Details
  • 96 Speed EVs outruns neutral-natured max Speed base 55s, such as Golurk and Cacturne.
Golurk is not a good example here because it resists Gunk Shot and can shrug off Seed Bombs with relative ease, Exeggutor is a much better example here.
Mention a spread with 136 Speed EVs to outspeed adamant Pawniard.
  • Aftermath makes Garbodor an emergency check to physical attackers, such as Kangaskhan, Tauros, and Klinklang.
Be clear that aftermath only affects physical attackers that rely on contact moves, and Klinklang is the only one out of those three that fits. You dont necessarily need examples here but add what I said in the previous sentence.

Usage Tips
  • Spikes wears down teams that rely on their bulk to check offensive threats, while Toxic Spikes wears down more defensive teams with consistent passive damage.
What? This sounds like a moves section description, it doesnt tell me how Garbodor should be used.
  • Because Gunk Shot has amazing 120 Base Power along with a high chance to poison, Garbodor can proceed to check the opponent's team if they rely on offensive pressure to check Garbodor.
This is super awkwardly worded, Garbodor can proceed to check the opposing team if they rely on offensive pressure to check Garbodor? You're overcomplicating things here a bit.
  • Common Pokemon Garbodor can get chip damage on, such as Kangaskhan and Hariyama, can opt to use Earthquake, bypassing Aftermath and Rocky Helmet while doing massive damage to Garbodor so it must be wary if the team lacks a reliable answer besides attackers as they most likely are running Earthquake.
This is just a statement, but it doesnt tell me what to do about it. Say that you should scout for those coverage moves if possible.

Team options looks fine.

Rename the second set Offensive Spiker.
  • Spikes is still the main idea behind this set, as Garbodor can force a lot of switches, giving it ample opportunities.
Remove the bolded part, its fluff and we cant cross reference sets. Just say what Spikes do.
  • Gunk Shot hits really hard with investment, guaranteeing 2HKOs on Pokemon such as bulky Xatu.
Gunk Shot is not a guaranteed 2HKO on all Xatu variants, but say that it has a good chance to 2HKO most Xatu.
  • Toxic Spikes could be nice to pressure more defensive oriented teams as even with the Attack investment, Garbodor can still fall to defensive tactics ???
I'd bump up Explosion to a moves mention on this set as its helpful to block Rapid Spin, and Adamant max Speed Garb ties with Modest Claydol.

Set Details
  • Maximum Attack and Speed EVs allow Garbodor to outspeed a lot more things and hit them harder than the defensive set.
No cross set referencing.
  • An Adamant nature allows Garbodor to secure 2HKOes on Pokemon like Xatu and Rhydon as a Jolly nature doesn't outspeed anything of relevance and the loss of power is noticeable.
Again, like before - you cannot guarantee a 2HKO on all Xatu variants. Also I dunno where you got the idea that offensive Garbodor has a guaranteed 2HKO on Rhydon.
252+ Atk Garbodor Seed Bomb vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Eviolite Rhydon: 180-212 (43.4 - 51.2%) -- 3.1% chance to 2HKO
Slash a Jolly nature after Adamant because it does have a few uses as it allows Garbodor to outspeed Adamant Sawk (I learned this the hard way lol), Jolly Barbaracle (which should also be listed as a Seed Bomb target), Modest / Mild Magmortar (thats huge), and neutral natured Mesprit.
  • Black Sludge can also be used instead to give Garbodor some passive recovery, but isn't as necessary as Garbodor can recover more HP with Drain Punch.
Black Sludge sounds pretty awful on Offensive Garbodor, as having the passive recovery doesn't seem like it would help given the types of teams that this set is used on.
  • This set is more useful on bulky offense teams as it can keep up the offensive pressure while still laying down hazards effectively.
This isnt a usage tip, it goes in team options.

Add a lot more to usage tips and team options of the offensive set.

C&C
**Xatu**: Xatu has Magic Bounce to avoid entry hazards from Garbodor, can Roost off the damage from Gunk Shot, and can threaten it with a STAB Psychic.
Mention that Xatu dislikes a potential poison from Gunk Shot and some variants are outsped and 2HKOed by offensive Garbodor.
For both of the others, add more to the description. Specify whether or not they like switching in or if they have a chance to be outsped by Jolly Garbodor.

Add a section for Taunt users, consisting on Archeops, Mismagius, and Haunter. There are other examples but those are the best because they prevent Garbosdor from setting up Spikes and resist its STAB move, and Haunter doesnt fear getting Poisoned from Gunk Shot.

Ok I updated everything, but I feel Usage Tips for the offensive set is still a bit inadequate but I am completely drawing a blank on what else to add.

Overview:
- I wouldn't say that bulky Ground-types are declining because Rhydon and Seismitoad are still very popular, you can say that it can switch into a lot of popular Pokemon (Fighting-types, Grass-types)

Moves:
- Toxic should be here, it goes a long way in wearing down bulky Pokemon especially stuff like bulky Psychics and Grounds that love switching in

Set Details:
- If you're giving examples of stuff that use contact moves, give more than just Klinklang. Otherwise you don't have to give examples imo since it's very broad
- Rocky Helmet's only use isn't to discourage spinning, I'm sure you can expand a bit on this

Usage Tips:
Garbodor's main niche compared to other Spikes users, such as Cacturne and Crustle, is its ability to last throughout the match, acting as a pivot with solid bulk and damage output, making Garbodor by far the best Spikes Pokemon for more bulky oriented teams.
- I wouldn't say Garbodor fits on bulky oriented teams since it just as easily works as a glue on offensive ones. Also, you should make the link to how Garbodor plays a little better. Talk about how you can pivot into contact moves or physical attackers that can't harm it, Gunk Shot something or set up a Spike, save it for some contact move mons, etc

- At your last point, you can mention that Rocky Helmet + Aftermath can come in really useful in emergencies and leave the opponent at low enough HP to be picked off

Team Options:
- Mention that offensive teammates that can hurt bulky Poison-types that try and switch in to absorb TSpikes are good. Stuff like Psychic-types, bulky Ground-types can usually swing momentum when they double into the grounded poisons

Offensive Spikes:

QC thoughts on slashing Seed Bomb with Drain Punch instead? They're both equally good since 2HKOing bulky Grounds is a pretty big deal, while TSpikes are also very important

Moves:
- Gunk Shot /always/ 2HKOs bulky Xatu (Bold Xatu isn't a v good spread)
- Explosion prevents Defog too :)
- Drain Punch hits Steel- and Rock-types: mention its targets (Klinklang, Pawniard)
- Barbaracle doesn't have Ground-type STAB :/

Usage Tips:
- You can c/p some stuff from bulky Spikes here, for example everything about Rocky Helmet + Aftermath still applies

Team Options:
- I dunno, I think it works quite well outside of bulky offense too
- You also need to list stuff that keep hazards up

Checks and Counters:
- Xatu is always 2HKOed by offensive Garb
- Might want to list bulky Ground-types because they can take a Seed Bomb from the bulky ones

Defensive Spikes:
  • Spikes cripples grounded Pokemon and wears them down really quickly.
Spikes dont cripple grounded pokemon, they just wear them down with residual damage upon switch in. Crippling is better suited for example tricking a defensive pokemon a choice item.
  • Seed Bomb can be used instead to nail Seismitoad and Quagsire, common Pokemon that can beat Garbodor 1v1 as their STABs do not make contact.
Rhydon is a super important target of seed bomb. The whole beating garb 1v1 sounds kinda awkward, just say that seed bomb hits ground types that resist gunk shot, not need to complicate it here.
  • Toxic is yet another option that can wear down the bulky Ground- and Psychic-types that tend to switch into Garbodor
Toxic more importantly hits levitating pokemon such as mesprit / uxie / mismagius, because they are immune to both spikes.
Add Klinklang to the drain punch targets, I missed that earlier.
  • Finally, if Garbodor's HP is low and it has done its job, you can sacrifice it to a contact move to deal massive recoil via Rocky Helmet + Aftermath to the attacker to make the opponent's physical attacker a lot easier to pick off.
A good example here would be switching in on a weakened rapid spinner because if they faint to rocky helmet damage they don't spin away the hazards. Do this on the offensive set as well.
  • Ghost-types are good partners as they can spinblock really easily. Rotom can provide momentum with Volt Switch while Mismagius can prevent Defog as well thanks to Taunt.
Eh, I wouldnt say they spinblock easily since all spinners have either knock off or a strong stab / super effective move to hit rotom and other ghosts, leave it at they can block rapid spin.
  • Bulky Ground-types such as Rhydon and Claydol can double into Poison-types that try to switch in and absorb the Toxic Spikes and keep up the offensive pressure and momentum. Psychic-types such as Uxie, Mesprit, and Xatu can force all Poison-types out as some, such as Weezing, are immune to Ground-type moves thanks to Levitate.
Its unnecessary to state that you can double into them, just leave it at they threaten opposing poison types etc

Sneasel must be in team options for the first set since it threatens and pursuit traps xatu so that garb has an easier time setting hazards.

Offensive Spiker:
  • Spikes can wear down grounded Pokemon as Garbodor can force a lot of switches.
Super nitpicky, but spikes wear down grounded mons, its not that they can. Just remove the "can" and change wear to wears down.
  • Toxic Spikes could be nice to pressure more defensive oriented teams.
Same thing here lol, just word it like you have in the 1st set.

Not too sure if it belongs in moves or set details but note that a jolly nature must be used with explosion to outspeed modest max speed claydol. Also please slash Jolly after adamant on the set, its good enough to warrant a slash.

C&C:
Xatu doesnt avoid the entry hazards, it bounces them back.

Tag me back and I'll stamp, this is looking much better.

Content seems okay just skimming over but I don't want to approve this before testing in the new meta and going over the slashes a bit. Tbh I actually thought Seed Bomb was better than Drain Punch in the Toad meta but it may / may not have changed now, Kabutops is another important Seed Bomb target but Drain Punch means you don't just give free switchins to Magneton (particularly on fast variants). So if anyone has any opinions on the slashing that would be good.

I'd also mention another fast variant for bulky Garb, 168 HP / 124 Def / 216 Spe Impish outspeeds max Speed Samurott and is still decently bulky (my spread specifically lives 2 Sawk CCs w/o hazards, but the most important part is the Speed). It's a better spread on offense teams that need a bulkier pivot but doesn't completely lose momentum when Otter comes on the field.

Ok I added the spread to Offensive Spiker since you said that it works better on offense teams but not sure if it goes there or Defensive Spiker set.

Added that this is Haze's main use, but still kept the mention of the mons Haze can "beat" (although all but Steel-types don't like Clear Smog either lol)

Add Claydol as a Seed Bomb target.

Why are there no mentions of Ghost-types as teammates for Offensive Spiker Garbo?

You could touch upon Garbodor's wide special movepool, and note on why it's not a good idea to rely on those.

QC 1/3

Edit:
Put the expansive special movepool into OO, not sure about mentioning in Overview (can be moved there or done in both places).
You don't need to mention this in Overview.

Added Claydol.

Added Rotom and Mismagius to Team Options for Offensive Spiker and mentioned they have Levitate, allowing them to switch into Ground-type moves aimed at Garbodor.

[Moves]
Add Magneton as a target for Drain Punch, this is very important because if you give Magneton a free switch in, you're in an awful position. On that bullet point, no need to mention "seed bomb can be used if tspikes are wanted" because realistically you could run seed bomb and drain punch [reason being often times when I've used dual spikes garb I felt that I didn't really get enough opportunities to set up both hazards despite how good having the option for both is, sometimes having the utility of the other moves can be handy], Spikes and Gunk Shot are the only necessary moves on Garbodor.
On that note, put Gunk Shot in moveslot 2 and tspikes / seed bomb in slot 3, it just looks better when the slots with slashes are at the end.

[Set Details]
Black Sludge, while generally the inferior choice (don't need to write that just wanted to preface my sentence with it), is also pretty handy to cripple trick users such as Rotom and Mismagius.

[Team Options]
Add Primeape as a Defiant user, its cool too.
In the bullet point about Dark-types, add that they appreciate having a bulky Fighting resist to fall back on.
  • Water-types such as Life Orb Samurott can destroy the Rock- and Ground-types that can hurt Garbodor with non-contact moves such as Stone Edge or Earthquake.
I feel this is emphasizing contact moves too much, just keep it simple at how Water-type Pokemon threaten rock and ground types while garbodor checks grass types for them. The non contact moves thing is a good point and all, but the type synergy on a basic level is more important imo.

[Offensive Spiker]

[Moves]
See above for Drain Punch.
Add Barbaracle as a Seed Bomb target, which Garb outspeeds if Jolly.

[Set Details]
Slash a Jolly nature after Adamant because it does have a few uses as it allows Garbodor to outspeed Adamant Sawk (I learned this the hard way lol), Jolly Barbaracle (which should also be listed as a Seed Bomb target), Modest / Mild Magmortar (thats huge), and neutral natured Mesprit.
Also please slash Jolly after adamant on the set, its good enough to warrant a slash.
I asked you to slash Jolly after Adamant on the set twice :/
I don't think anyone told you not to, so please do that.

[OO]

For some of the moves, if possible, list what purpose they could possibly have. For example, Thunderbolt hits Pelipper / Mantine / Swanna (lol), and Focus Blast hits Ferroseed harder.

C&C
**Bulky Ground-types**: Rhydon and Quagsire can all take a Seed Bomb from bulky variants and proceed to force Garbodor out with their STAB moves.
Preface this with the fact that Ground-type Pokemon resist Gunk Shot, as not all Garbodor carry Seed Bomb while obviously all carry Gunk Shot. It also can't hurt to add some other examples, like Stunfisk, Torterra [nuetral to both gunk shot and seed bomb, kinda a doubled edged sword], and Sandslash.

**Taunt Users**: Pokemon such as Archeops, Mismagius, and Haunter because they all outspeed any variant of Garbodor and resist its STAB move. Haunter also doesn't fear being poisoned by Gunk Shot.
Seems like you're missing something in this sentence, just briefly note that the Taunt users prevent Garbodor from setting up Spikes.

I'll stamp after this is done.

[OVERVIEW]

Garbodor is the best Spiker in the tier, as it can reliably set them throughout the match thanks to its bulk and typing. Its mono-Poison typing allows it to switch into a lot of common Pokemon such as Lilligant while checking a plethora of physical attackers such as Sawk, Kangaskhan, and Scyther. Its all-around natural bulk allows it to survive a lot of repeated hits while chipping away at the opponent's health via Rocky Helmet damage. It also isn't setup fodder as, (AC) even uninvested, (AC) it hits hard even uninvested with its base 95 Attack stat and a high powered STAB move in Gunk Shot. When its it's done doing its job, its ability Aftermath allows it to check contact attackers, (AC) potentially weakening a Pokemon enough to be revenge killed. Garbodor's lack of reliable recovery means it can get worn down really quickly and not be able to continue to do its job of checking physical attackers. Its mono-Poison typing is also a double-edged sword, (AC) as it gives great resistances to Bug- (Add Hyphen) and Fighting-type moves, but also gives Garbodor common weaknesses in Ground- (Add Hyphen) and Psychic-type attacks.

Moves
========

Spikes wears down grounded Pokemon with residual damage very quickly through residual damage. Gunk shot is a powerful STAB move that hits hard on anything that does not resist it, and the potential poison chance punishes Xatu from repeatedly switching in and bouncing back hazards. Toxic Spikes helps wear down bulky, defensive teams much faster, (AC) as they usually have a way of recovery. Seed Bomb can be used instead to nail Rhydon, Claydol, and Quagsire, common Pokemon that resists Gunk Shot. Gunk shot is a powerful STAB move that hits hard on anything that does not resist it, and the potential poison chance punishes Xatu from repeatedly switching in and bouncing back hazards. Drain Punch is specifically for Steel-types such as Magneton, Pawniard, (AC) and Klinklang, and hits Sneasel if you dont don't want to risk a miss. Haze is another option as it gets rid of boosts from Steel-types that try to set up on Garbodor, (AC) such as Mawile and Klinklang, (AC) as well as boosts on Pokemon such as Gurdurr, Scyther, Samurott, or and Malamar. Toxic is yet another option that can wear down the bulky Ground- and Psychic-types as well as levitating Pokemon, (AC) such as Mesprit, Uxie, and Mismagius, (AC) that tend to switch into Garbodor. The last slot itself is really customizable and, (AC) as such, (AC) Garbodor can use niche things like Thunderbolt to hit Pelipper.

Set Details
========

96 Speed EVs outruns neutral-natured max Speed base 55s, such as Exeggutor and Cacturne. 136 Speed EVs, however, can be used to outpace Adamant Pawniard. Max Maximum HP investment gives general bulk. The remaining EVs are put into Defense with an Impish nature to better handle Pokemon such as Scyther, Sawk, and better punish users of physical contact moves. Aftermath makes Garbodor an emergency check to physical attackers that rely on contact moves. Rocky Helmet inflicts chip damage which can not only prevent prevents spinners from removing entry hazards unless they want to take a lot of recoil damage but also wears down the opponent's team overall. It also can break Sawk's Sturdy if you are unable to get hazards up. Black Sludge can also be used instead to give Garbodor some passive recovery and cripple Trick users, (AC) such as Rotom and Mismagius.

Usage Tips
========

Garbodor should set either hazard depending on the opposing team. If the team relies on their bulk to check Pokemon, Spikes can wear them down quickly; however, teams that have no lack a way to get rid of status or a Poison-type will hate Toxic Spikes as it wears them down with consistent passive damage. Only use Drain Punch on frail threats, (AC) as even (considering that you say "bulky" and how they can handle it easily I don't think "even" is really needed) bulky Rock- and Steel-types, (AC) such as Regirock and Rhydon, (AC) can easily take it and so laying down a layer of Spikes or Toxic Spikes is usually more beneficial. If Garbodor carries Seed Bomb, common switch-ins such as Rhydon and Quagsire are worn down to the point where they can be finished off by the team as they both lack reliable recovery (Quagsire gets Recover...). If Garbodor carries Haze, it can set up entry hazards against Gurdurr or Malamar without letting these Pokemon get the upper hand set up. Garbodor's main niche compared to other Spikes users, such as Cacturne and Crustle, is its ability to last throughout the match, acting as a pivot with solid bulk and damage output, making Garbodor by far the best Spikes Pokemon for most teams. Garbodor can also switch into a lot of contact moves and from physical attackers, (AC) unlike Cacturne or Crustle, (AC) and force them out, allowing it to Gunk Shot the switch-in or set up a layer of Spikes or Toxic Spikes. Common Pokemon Garbodor can get chip damage on, such as Kangaskhan and Hariyama, can opt to use Earthquake, bypassing Aftermath and Rocky Helmet while doing massive damage to Garbodor, (AC) so it's advised to scout for coverage moves on physical attackers that Garbodor usually checks. Finally, if Garbodor's HP is low and it has done its job, you can sacrifice it to a contact move such as a weakened spinner to deal massive recoil via Rocky Helmet and Aftermath to the attacker which means the hazards cannot be spun away if the spinner dies.

Team Options
========

Ghost-types are good partners as they can block Rapid Spin. Rotom can provide momentum with Volt Switch while Mismagius can prevent Defog as well thanks to Taunt. Defiant users, such as Pawniard and Primeape, can be really useful as they gain a +2 Attack boost from Defog. Dark-types, such as Liepard, can beat up on the Ghost- and Psychic-types that can resists Garbodor's STAB or hit it with a supereffective STAB move. Sneasel is particularly good as it can pursuit Pursuit trap Xatu, allowing Garbodor to have an easier time setting up hazards. They also appreciate Garbodor as a bulky Fighting resist to fall back on. Water-types, (AC) such as Life Orb Samurott, (AC) can destroy the Rock- and Ground-types that can hurt Garbodor while it takes Grass-type moves aimed at Samurott. Bulky Ground-types, (AC) such as Rhydon and Claydol, (AC) can switch into Poison-types that try to switch in and absorb the Toxic Spikes and keep up the offensive pressure and momentum. Psychic-types, (AC) such as Uxie, Mesprit, and Xatu, (AC) can force all Poison-types out as some, such as Weezing, are immune to Ground-type moves thanks to Levitate (Weezing isn't a threat anyways though...doesn't Levitate prevent it from absorbing?). Magneton is also a really great partner as it can take Psychic-type moves for Garbodor as well as appreciating appreciate the hazard support from Garbodor. Fletchinder can also appreciate the Spikes support and can take the Ground-type moves thanks to its Flying-type. Garbodor can also wear down Fletchinder's checks and counters with Seed Bomb.

Moves
========

Spikes wears can wear down grounded Pokemon, (AC) as Garbodor can force a lot of switches. Gunk Shot hits really hard with investment, always nabbing the 2HKO on Pokemon such as bulky Xatu. Drain Punch allows Garbodor to hit Steel-types, such as Magneton, Klinklang, and Pawniard, hard while gaining a decent amount of HP. Seed Bomb, with the investment, can secure 2HKOs on Quagsire and Rhydon while denting Claydol significantly, which otherwise can force Garbodor out with their Ground-type STAB. It also nails Barbaracle who outspeeds with a Jolly nature. Toxic Spikes is nice to pressure more defensive oriented teams. Explosion is helpful to block Rapid Spin and can hit spinners such as Claydol fairly hard and can block Defog, allowing your hazards to continue to apply pressure to the opposing team.

Set Details
========

Maximum Attack and Speed EVs allow Garbodor to outspeed a lot of things and hit them harder. An Adamant nature allows Garbodor to hit Pokemon like Xatu and Rhydon a lot harder than a Jolly nature; however, a Jolly nature can help Garbodor outspeed Pokemon such as Adamant Sawk, Modest / Mild Magmortar, neutral natured Mesprit, and Jolly Barbaracle. A Jolly nature also needs to be used with if running Explosion to outspeed Modest max Speed Claydol and block its spin. Aftermath is still a great ability as it allows Garbodor to still check physical attackers, such as Klinklang and Hariyama. Rocky Helmet still inflicts chip damage to punish physical attackers. An alternate EV spread of 168 HP / 124 Def / 216 Spe Impish outspeeds max Speed Samurott and is still decently bulky. It's a better spread on offense teams that need a bulkier pivot but that doesn't completely lose momentum when Samurott comes on the field.

Usage Tips
========

Garbodor can be more lenient with its choice of moves as, (AC) with the Attack investment, it can proceed to surprise the opponent's common checks to Garbodor such as Rhydon and Quagsire. Garbodor more easily beats the common Pokemon that can spin away / or block hazards better with the offensive investment. The speed Speed this set provides allows Garbodor to outspeed a lot more things, setting up Spikes on more targets and set up Spikes on a lot more Pokemon. This set can be a useful pivot on offensive oriented offensively-oriented teams, (AC) as it has decent natural bulk and power to hit spinners and Defoggers that may give offensive teams trouble. Garbodor still has a niche over other offensive Spikers as it can easily (clarifies a bit) switch into attacks unlike Cacturne and Crustle. Garbodor can also wear down the opponent more quickly with its offensive investment along with Rocky Helmet and Aftermath. Common physical attackers that Garbodor gets chip damage on, such as Kangaskhan and Hariyama, may opt to use Earthquake, bypassing Aftermath and Rocky Helmet; however, offensive Garbodor can 2HKO both meaning most physical attackers who try to get around the chip damage are going to be 2HKOed by Gunk Shot. If Garbodor's HP is low and it has done its job, this set still works as an emergency check to a powerful physical attacker taking ~41% of their health with Rocky Helmet and Aftermath damage.

Team Options
========

This set is more useful on bulky offense teams, (AC) as it can keep up the offensive pressure while still laying down hazards effectively. However, pure offensive teams appreciate its ability to switch into a lot of threats and force them out. Pokemon such as Kangaskhan, Sneasel, Klinklang, and Archeops appreciate their checks being worn down so they can continue to pressure the opponent. Pokemon that appreciate Spikes support, such as Klinklang, can be great partners as Spikes tends to wear down their checks while Garbodor's newly found offensive pressure means it can keep up with the pace of the team. Volt Switch and U-turn users, such as Scyther and Rotom-Fan Rotom-S, appreciate the entry hazards as they tend to can force a lot of switches and can keep up the offensive pressure. Defiant Pokemon, (AC) such as Pawniard, (AC) can deter Defoggers from getting rid of your hazards as they get a free +2 Attack boost while Malamar can actually increase its evasion thanks to Contrary. Spinblockers, such as Rotom and Mismagius, can also keep the hazards up and pressure the opponent with Volt Switch momentum or setting up with Nasty Plot. Ghost-type Pokemon, such as Rotom and Mismagius, can provide useful spinblocking support and they both appreciate Spikes wearing down their checks. They both also have access to Levitate, allowing them to switch into Garbodor's Ground weakness with ease. Fletchinder appreciates Spikes support and can take the Ground-type moves thanks to its Flying-type Flying typing. Garbodor can also wear down Fletchinder's checks with Seed Bomb.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Rock Polish can allow Garbodor to set up and sweep, (AC) as it has a decent Attack stat as well as a decent Speed stat. It also has plenty of coverage to pick what it can beat which can make it a really great late-game cleaner. Clear Smog allows Garbodor to deal damage while resetting a setup sweeper's stats; however, Garbodor also has access to Haze which allows Garbodor to reset the stats of boosted Steel-types' (Remove apostrophe) boost, (AC) such as Klinklang and Mawile, (AC) who are immune to Clear Smog. Pain Split is an option to give Garbodor a form of semi-reliable recovery, although Drain Punch provides recovery as well as coverage on Steel-types that are immune to Garbodor's Poison STAB. It also has access to a wide special movepool with moves such as Thunderbolt which can to hit Pelipper, Swanna, and Mantine hard, Giga Drain to have recovery while hitting Water- and Ground-types hard, and Focus Blast to hit Ferroseed harder; however, Garbodor has roughly the same coverage in its physical movepool along with a better attacking stat Attack stat.

Checks & Counters
===================

**Xatu**: Xatu has Magic Bounce to can bounce back entry hazards from Garbodor through Magic Bounce, can Roost off the damage from Gunk Shot, and can threaten it with a STAB Psychic. It does, however, dislike a potential poison from Gunk Shot alongside the guaranteed 2HKO from offensive Garbodor.

**Psychic-types**: Pokemon such as Mesprit and Uxie can outspeed and KO Garbordor with a STAB Psychic. While both are usually bulky enough to take a hit, Mesprit is outsped and 2HKOed by offensive Jolly Garbodor; however, Uxie can reliable tank Gunk Shot but doesn't like getting poisoned.

**Bulky Ground-types**: Ground-types resists resist Gunk Shot, as not all Garbodor carry Seed Bomb while obviously all almost all carry Gunk Shot, so Rhydon, Stunfisk, Torterra, Sandslash, and Quagsire can all take a Seed Bomb from bulky variants and proceed to force Garbodor out with their STAB moves.

**Special Attackers**: Pokemon such as Magmortar and Samurott can threaten Garbodor out with a STAB move or cripple it, leaving it very weak for the rest of the match. However, both of them cannot switch into offensive Garbodor, (AC) as Garbodor 2HKOes Samurott while outspeeding it and can OHKO OHKOes Magmortar after Stealth Rock.

**Taunt Users**: Pokemon Taunt users, (AC) such as Archeops, Mismagius, and Haunter, (AC) because they all can outspeed any variant of Garbodor and prevent Garbodor from setting up Spikes while resisting its STAB move. Haunter also doesn't fear being poisoned by Gunk Shot.

Explosion is helpful to block Rapid Spin and can hit spinners such as Claydol fairly hard,(AC) ands well as can block Defog, allowing your hazards to continue to apply pressure to the opposing team.

Set Details
========

Maximum Attack and Speed EVs allow Garbodor to outspeed a lot of thingsPokemon and hit them harder. An Adamant nature allows Garbodor to hit Pokemon like Xatu and Rhydon a lot harder thanas compared to a Jolly nature; however, a Jolly nature can helpallow Garbodor to outspeed Pokemon such as Adamant Sawk, Modest / Mild Magmortar, neutral natured Mesprit, and Jolly Barbaracle. A Jolly nature also needs to be used with Explosionin order to allow Garbodor to outspeed Modest max Speed Claydol and block its spin by using Explosion. Aftermath is still a great ability as it allows Garbodor to still check physical attackers, such as Klinklang and Hariyama. Rocky Helmet stillalso inflicts chip damage to punish physical attackers. An alternate EV spread of 168 HP / 124 Def / 216 Spe Impish outspeeds max Speed Samurott and is still decently bulky. It's a better spread on offense teams that need a bulkier pivot but doesn't completely lose momentum when Samurott comes on the field.

Usage Tips
========

Garbodor can be more lenient with its choice of moves as with the Attack investment, it can proceed to surprise the opponent's common checks to Garbodor such as Rhydon and Quagsire. Garbodor beats the common Pokemon that can spin away / block hazards better with the offensive investment. The speed this set provides allows Garbodor to outspeed a lot more things, setting up Spikes on more targets. This set can be a useful pivot on offensive oriented teams as it has decent natural bulk and power to hit spinners and Defoggers that may give offensive teams trouble. Garbodor still has a niche over other offensive Spikers as it can switch into attacks,(AC) unlike Cacturne and Crustle. Garbodor can also wear down the opponent more quickly with its offensive investment along with Rocky Helmet and Aftermath. Common physical attackers that Garbodor gets chip damage on, such as Kangaskhan and Hariyama, may opt to use Earthquake, bypassing Aftermath and Rocky Helmet; however, offensive Garbodor can 2HKO both, meaning most physical attackers who try to get around the chip damage are going towill be 2HKOed by Gunk Shot. If Garbodor's HP is low and it has done its job, this set still works as an emergency check to a powerful physical attacker by taking ~around 41% of their health with Rocky Helmet and Aftermath damage.

Team Options
========

This set is more useful on bulky offense teams as it can keep up the offensive pressure while still laying down hazards effectively. However, purely offensive teams appreciate its ability to switch into a lot of threats and force them out. Pokemon such as Kangaskhan, Sneasel, Klinklang, and Archeops appreciate their checks being worn down so they can continue to pressure the opponent. Pokemon that appreciate Spikes support, such as Klinklang, can be great partners as Spikes tends to wear down their checks, while Garbodor's newly found offensive pressure means it can keep up with the pace of the team. Volt Switch and U-turn users, such as Scyther and Rotom-Fan, appreciate the entry hazards, as they tend to force a lot of switches, and canllowing Garbodor's teammates to keep up the offensive pressure. Defiant Pokemon such as Pawniard can deter Defoggers from getting rid of your hazards as they get a free +2 Attack boost, while Malamar can actually increase its evasion thanks to Contrary. Spinblockers, (RC) such as Rotom and Mismagius, (RC) can also keep the hazards up and pressure the opponent with Volt Switch momentum or setting up with Nasty Plot. Ghost-type Pokemon, (RC) such as the abovementioned Rotom and Mismagius, (RC) can provide useful spinblocking support,(AC) and they both appreciate Spikes wearing down their checks. They both also have access to Levitate as well, allowing them to switch into Garbodor's Ground weaknes-type checks with ease. Fletchinder appreciates Spikes support and can take the Ground-type moves thanks to its Flying-type. Garbodor can also wear down Fletchinder's checks with Seed Bomb.

Rock Polish can allow Garbodor to set up and sweep as it has a decent Attack stat as well as a decent Speed stat. It also has plenty of coverage to pick what it can beat which can make it, allowing it to be a really great late-game cleaner. Clear Smog allows Garbodor to deal damage while resetting a setup sweeper's stats; however, Garbodor also has access to Haze,(AC) which allows Garbodor to reset Steel-types' boost such as Klinklang and Mawile, who are immune to Clear Smog. Pain Split is an option to give Garbodor a form of semi-reliable recovery, although Drain Punch provides recovery as well as coverage on Steel-types that are immune to Garbodor's Poison STAB. It also has access to a wide special movepool with moves such as Thunderbolt which can hit Pelipper, Swanna, and Mantine hard, Giga Drain to have recovery while hitting Water- and Ground-types hard, and Focus Blast to hit Ferroseed harder; however, Garbodor has roughly the same coverage in its physical movepool along with a better attacking stat.

Checks & Counters
===================

**Xatu**: Xatu has Magic Bounce to bounce back entry hazards from Garbodor, can Roost off the damage from Gunk Shot, and can threaten it with a STAB Psychic STAB. It does, however, dislike a potential poison from Gunk Shot alongside the guaranteed 2HKO from offensive Garbodor.

**Psychic-types**: Pokemon such as Mesprit and Uxie can outspeed and KO Garbodor with a STAB Psychic STAB. While both are usually bulky enough to take a hit, Mesprit is outsped and 2HKOed by offensive Jolly Garbodor; however, Uxie can reliabley tank Gunk Shot but doesn't like getting poisoned.

**Bulky Ground-types**: Ground-types resists Gunk Shot, as not all Garbodor carry Seed Bomb while obviously all carry Gunk Shot, so. Rhydon, Stunfisk, Torterra, Sandslash, and Quagsire can all take a Seed Bomb from bulky Garbodor variants and proceed to force Garbodor out with their STAB moves.

**Special Attackers**: Pokemon such as Magmortar and Samurott can threaten Garbodor out with a STAB move or cripple it, leaving it very weak for the rest of the match. However, both of them cannot switch into offensive Garbodor as Garbodor 2HKOes Samurott while outspeeding it and can OHKO Magmortar after Stealth Rock.

**Taunt Users**: Pokemon such as Archeops, Mismagius, and Haunter because they all outspeed any variant of Garbodor and prevent Garbodor from setting up Spikes while resisting its STAB move. Haunter also doesn't fear being poisoned by Gunk Shot.

i havent been doing amchecks for a while so apologies if i misinterpreted any of your stuff

[OVERVIEW]

Garbodor is the best Spiker in the tier, as it can reliably set themNU, as it can reliably set up Spikes throughout the match thanks to its bulk and typing. Its mono-Poison typing allows it to switch into a lot of common Pokemon such as Lilligant while checking a plethora of physical attackers such as Sawk, Kangaskhan, and Scyther. Its all-around natural bulk allows it to survive a lot of repeated hits while chipping away at the opponentfoe's health via Rocky Helmet damage. It also isn't setup fodder, (AC) as it hits hard even uninvested with its base 95 Attack stat and a high powered STAB move in Gunk Shot. When its done doing its job, itGarbodor's ability Aftermath allows it to check contact attackers, (AC) potentially weakening a Pokemon enough to be revenge killed. Garbodor's lack of reliable recovery means it can get worn down really quickly and no, (AC) and it won't be able to continue to do its job of checking physical attackers. Its mono-Poison typing is also a double-edged sword, (AC) as it gives great resistances to Bug and Fighting, but also gives Garbodor common weaknesses in Ground and Psychic.

Moves
========

Spikes wears down grounded Pokemon with residual damage very quickly. Toxic Spikes helps wear down bulky, defensive teams much faster, (AC) as they usually have a way of recovery. Seed Bomb can be used instead to nail Rhydon, Claydol, and Quagsire, all common Pokemon that resists Gunk Shot. Gunk shot is a powerful STAB move thaShot hits hard on anything that does not resist it, and the potential poison chance punishes Xatu(AC) is boosted by STAB, and has a chance to poison Xatu, (AC) preventing it from repeatedly switching in and bouncing back entry hazards that Garbodor tries to set. Drain Punch is specifically for Steel-types, (AC) such as Magneton, Pawniard and Klinklang, and it hits Sneasel if you don't (Add apostrophe) want to risk a miss. Haze is another option, (AC) as it gets rid of boosts from Steel-types that try to set up on Garbodor such as Mawile and Klinklang as well as Pokemon such as Gurdurr, Scyther, Samurott, orand Malamar. Toxic is yet another option that can wear down the bulky Ground- and Psychic-types as well as levitating Pokemon that tend to switch into Garbodor such as Mesprit, Uxie, and Mismagius that tend to switch into Garbodor. The last slot itself is really customizable and as such Garbodor can use niche things like, (AC) allowing Garbodor to use niche moves such as Thunderbolt to hit Pelipper.

Set Details
========

96 Speed EVs let Garbodor outruns neutral-natured max Speed base 55s,imum EV base 55 Speed Pokemon such as Exeggutor and Cacturne. 136 Speed EVs, however, can be used to outpace Adamant Pawniard. Maximum HP investment gives Garbodor general bulk. The remaining EVs are put into Defense, (AC) and with an Impish nature, (AC) allow Garbodor to better handle Pokemon such as Scyther, Sawk, and better punish users of physical contact moves. Aftermath makes Garbodor an emergency check to physical attackers that rely on contact moves. Rocky Helmet inflicts chip damage, (AC) which can not only prevent spinners from removing entry hazards unless they want to take a lot of recoil damage, (AC) but also wears down the opponent's team overall. It also can break Sawk's Sturdy if you are unable to get entry hazards up. Black Sludge can also be used instead to give Garbodor some passive recovery and cripple Trick users such as Rotom and Mismagius.

Usage Tips
========

Garbodor should set either entry hazard depending on the opposing team. If the team relies on their bulk to check Pokemon, Spikes can wear them down quickly; however, teams that have no way to get rid of status or a team without a Poison-type will hate Toxic Spikes, (AC) as it wears them down with consistent passive damage. Only use Drain Punch on frail threats, (AC) as even bulky Rock- and Steel-types such as Regirock and Rhydon (neither of these are Steel-types) can easily take it, (AC) and laying down a layer of Spikes or Toxic Spikes is usually more beneficial. If Garbodor carries Seed Bomb, common switch-ins such as Rhydon and Quagsire are worn down to the point where they can be finished off by the team, (AC) as they both lack forms of reliable recovery. If Garbodor carries Haze, it can set up entry hazards against Gurdurr orand Malamar without letting these Pokemon get the upper hand. Garbodor's main niche compared to other Spikes users, such as Cacturne and Crustle, is its ability to last throughout the match, acting as a pivot with solid bulk and damage output, making Garbodor by far the best Spikes Pokemonit the best Spiker for most teams by far. Garbodor can also switch into a lot of contact moves and physical attackers unlike Cacturne or Crustle and force them out, allowing it to Gunk Shot the switch-in or set up a layer of Spikes or Toxic Spikes. Finally, if Garbodor's HP is low and it has done its job, you can sacrifice it to a contact move-using Pokemon, (AC) such as a weakened spinner, (AC) to deal massive recoil via Rocky Helmet and Aftermath to the attacker, (AC) which means the entry hazards cannot be spun away if the spinner dies.

Team Options
========

Ghost-types are good partners, (AC) as they can spinblock Rapid Spin. Rotom can provide momentum with Volt Switch while, (AC) and Mismagius can prevent Defog as well thanks to Taunt. Defiant users, such as Pawniard and Primeape, can be really useful, (AC) as they gain a +2 Attack boost from Defog. Dark-types, such as Liepard, can beat up on the Ghost- and Psychic-types that can resists Garbodor's STAB or hit it with a super effective STAB move. Sneasel is particularly good, (AC) as it can pursuit trap Xatu, allowing Garbodor to have an easier time with setting up entry hazards. They also appreciate a bulky Fighting resistPokemon that resists Fighting-type moves to fall back on. Water-types such as Life Orb Samurott can destroy the Rock- and Ground-types that can hurt Garbodor while itGarbodor takes Grass-type moves aimed at Samurott. Bulky Ground-types such as Rhydon and Claydol can switch into Poison-types that try to switch in and absorb the Toxic Spikes and keep up the offensive pressure and momentum. Psychic-types such as Uxie, Mesprit, and Xatu can force all Poison-types out, (AC) as some, such as Weezing, are immune to Ground-type moves thanks to Levitate. Magneton is also a really great partner, (AC) as it can take Psychic-type moves for Garbodor as well as appreciating the entry hazard support from Garbodor. Fletchinder also appreciate thes Spikes support and can take the Ground-type moves thanks to its Flying-type typing. Garbodor can also wear down Fletchinder's checks and counters with Seed Bomb.

Spikes wears down grounded Pokemon, (AC) as Garbodor can force a lot of switches. Gunk Shot hits really hard with investment in Attack, always nabbing the 2HKO on Pokemon such as bulky Xatu.
