Overview
########
- Amazing defensive typing with just 2 weaknesses, albeit common ones
- Best Defogger in RU
- Reliable recovery in Roost to stay healthy and Eviolite to bolster defenses
- Can run SpDef thanks to Eviolite
- Decently strong EQ and has U-turn to build momentum
- Can also run a BP support set for sweepers
- Slower than most wallbreakers and vulnerable to Knock Off due to reliance on Eviolite
- Can't cover both sides with one set; has to pick which spectrum it can beat
- Defog + Immunity is illegal, which sucks
- Literally probably the easiest support mon to fit on an RU team

Specially Defensive
########
name: Specially Defensive
move 1: Defog / Stealth Rock
move 2: Roost
move 3: U-turn / Toxic / Knock Off
move 4: Earthquake
ability: Hyper Cutter / Immunity
item: Eviolite
evs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SpD
nature: Careful

Moves
======
- Not the first thing that comes to mind when you think Gligar, but it works thanks to Eviolite and defensive typing
- Can switch into even the strongest of neutral special attacks and Roost off the damage. Dragalge is the most noteworthy
- Defog removes hazards, but use it wisely
- Roost is recovery. Much needed. Just be wary of the lost Flying typing against certain foes
- U-turn can build or maintain momentum
- Toxic cripples bulky Pokemon coming into Gligar, such as Alomomola, Slowking, and Eelektross
- Knock Off can remove items from opposing Pokemon to possibly ruin strategies
- EQ finishes off stuff that has been weakened and is either outsped by Gligar or simply can't KO it
- Stealth Rock is an option over Defog if your team doesn't need hazard removal. Use Immunity in this case!
- Acrobatics is an option in the 3rd slot if Mega Sceptile really gives the team grief. U-turn generally handles it well enough though.

Set Details
======
- EVs maximize special bulk
- Hyper Cutter because Defog is illegal with Immunity. If using Rocks over Defog, Immunity is the easy choice.
- Eviolite because this set is pointless without it

Usage Tips
======
- Gligar can still take resisted physical attacks, but neutral ones are more dangerous now
- Best used on teams that need a check to Scarf Moltres, Electric-types, and Mega Sceptile
- Steer clear of Knock Off at all costs. This set is next to useless without Eviolite
- Defog only when it benefits your team more than the opposing team
- Be more willing to use U-turn with this set. The SpDef spread can catch some opponents off-guard
- If running Toxic, try to catch bulky Waters, such as Alomomola and Slowking, with this.
- Knock Off is fairly safe to throw out since Cobalion has a bad matchup vs. Gligar and Virizion isn't as common
- Only EQ when the opponent is in sure KO range

Team Options
======
- Water-types share great synergy with Gligar. Alomomola and Slowking work best
- Sturdier answer to Fighitng-types. Aromatisse works wonders here and has Aromatherapy to cure Gligar of status ailments
- Cobalion can take some physical hits Gligar can't and discourages the use of Knock Off via Justified
- SR-weak mons are still great partners. Moltres, Mega Pidgeot, Mega Glalie, and Houndoom are rock solid
- Choice attackers, such as Dragalge, Meloetta, and Pangoro work well. They appreciate hazard removal and a reliable pivot when they're forced out

Physically Defensive
########
name: Physically Defensive
move 1: Defog / Stealth Rock
move 2: Roost
move 3: U-turn / Knock Off / Acrobatics
move 4: Earthquake
ability: Hyper Cutter / Immunity
item: Eviolite
evs: 248 HP / 212 Def / 48 Spe
nature: Impish

Moves
======
- Uses Gligar's great defensive typing and Eviolite-boosted bulk to handle most physical attackers
- Defog removes hazards from the field, ideally making it easier for Gligar's teammates to switch in and out
- Roost keeps Gligar healthy. Removes the Flying typing, so play with it carefully against fighters and Escavalier
- U-turn builds momentum or can keep momentum up if you just need Gligar to pivot into an attack. Like a meat shield.
- Knock Off can remove items and possibly ruin the opponent's strategy
- Acrobatics can drill Vrizion and other Fighting-types. Also benefits from Knock Off, which can be kinda cute
- EQ deals damage as needed to opponents that are weak to it
- Stealth Rock can be used over Defog if you don't need hazard removal. Be sure to use Immunity if you go this route!

Set Details
======
- EVs outspeed Modest max Speed Clawitzer and Adamant max Speed Pangoro, allowing Gligar to chip them with U-turn on its way out to another teammate
- Maximizing physical bulk is an option if these threats are already handled well by the team
- Hyper Cutter has to be the ability since Immunity is illegal with Defog. Use Immunity if you decide to run Rocks over Defog
- Don't use anything other than Eviolite

Usage Tips
======
- Gligar's typing and great physical bulk allows it to handle most physical attackers.
- Tread lightly around Knock Off users. Losing Eviolite can spell doom for Gligar later on
- Defog only when necessary. If the opponent's team has more trouble with hazards than your's, it might be best to just keep them up and pivot out with U-turn or Roost
- Use Roost carefully. The lost Flying typing can hurt against slower Fighting-types and Escavalier
- Knock Off is safe to throw out since you wall Cobalion and Virizion isn't all that common
- Acrobatics will be Gligar's go-to attack move if it gets hit with Knock Off. Otherwise, only use it against weakened threats that are weak to Flying or Virizion in general
- EQ is best used to finish off something that Gligar walls or outspeeds

Team Options
======
- Water-types are nice since they cover both of Gligar's weaknesses. Slowking, Alomomola, and Clawitzer work best
- Stuff like Moltres, Mega Pidgeot, Mega Glalie, and Houndoom appreciate the Defog support
- Aromatisse can cure Gligar of status ailments it incurs and switch into Knock Offs with ease
- Find a Dragalge switch-in. Bronzong and Registeel work wonderfully, and both are sturdy Rocks users that don't mind setting it up multiple times if needed
- Choice attacers that tend to dislike physical attackers. Meloetta, Dragalge, and Jolteon come to mind
- Mini VoltTurn cores aren't out of the question. AV Eelektross, Magneton, and Cobalion can work nicely

Baton Pass Support
########
name: Baton Pass Support
move 1: Swords Dance
move 2: Baton Pass
move 3: Roost
move 4: Earthquake
ability: Immunity
item: Eviolite
evs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SDef
ivs: 10 Spe
nature: Relaxed

Moves
======
- Uses Gligar's incredible physical bulk and defensive typing to pass boosts to a Pokemon in waiting
- Use SD to pass Attack boosts (which Gligar can also use if needed)
- Roost provides reliable recovery, letting Gligar attempt multiple times
- EQ deters Drapion and Cobalion, the most common Taunt users in RU

Set Details
======
- EVs ensure Gligar can Baton Pass after Alomomola attacks, ensuring the recipient doesn't have to face the threat of a Scald burn or Toxic
- SpDef spread if you want Gligar to not be weak to special attacks. Can't as readily set up on physical threats though
- Immunity is legal with all moves and makes sure Gligar can't be poisoned
- Why would you use anything other than Eviolite?

Usage Tips
======
- Switch Gligar into physical attackers it can readily handle and set up an SD
- When threatened, BP into the threat you want to get the boosts or EQ if the target is in KO range
- Don't be afraid to Roost. It helps Gligar maintain its health to try again later if your first attempt is spoiled
- Only EQ when you can KO something with it
- "Dry passing" isn't a bad idea if you feel your intended BP target can't sweep just yet as it keeps momentum up

Team Options
======
- Fast physical attackers. Mega Sceptile, Cobalion, Durant, and Virizion all work here
- Immediate threats to Gligar should be removed quickly. This includes Slowking, Clawitzer, and (if using PhysDef spread) Dragalge
- Electrics beat the Water-types. Jolteon, Heliolisk, and Rotom-C work well here
- Dugtrio can trap and KO Dragalge 100% of the time, but it will require you to sacrifice a teammate to do this.
- Bronzong, Registeel, and Escavalier can tank hits from Dragalge if you don't want to go that route

Other Options
########
- Taunt bones slower set up sweepers or hazard users
- SubPass can help frail sweepers get into battle safely

Checks and Counters
########
**Water-types**: Slowking and Clawitzer can lay waste to Gligar with relative ease. Omastar can also do some real damage, but repeated Earthquakes can quickly wear it down
**Special Attackers**: Most special attackers fare well against Gligar. Meloetta, HP Ice Jolteon, Rotom-C, and Mega Sceptile are the most ideal. U-turn can chip them down upon switch-in though and the SpDef set works much better against them
**Knock Off**: Most Pokemon with Knock Off can at least make Gligar wary of switching in. Pangoro, Hitmonlee, and Eelektross are the most useful since Gligar resists or is immune to their STAB moves and will be more likely to switch into them
**Ice-type attacks**: Though not common in RU, Pokemon with Ice-type moves can easily deal with Gligar. Pangoro and Tyrantrum are the best choices since they're physical attackers that Gligar may be willing to pivot into

Did this. Actually had the 8 EVs in Speed due to rounding down passive damage with HP EVs... don't ask why I didn't catch it. Probably the same reason I didn't get all the other stuff at first ;;;

I dont know if Clawitzer deserves to be mentioned as a partner on the specially defensive set as it stil struggles to deal with bulky grass and water types gligar despises and is not that great in the meta anyways. You should also mention stuff that the specially defensive set can check but physically defensive doesn't (Scarf Moltres, electris types, etc.). Maybe Acro is moves worthy beacause with it you can beat mega sceptile even tho uturn does the same somewhat n_n
Regarding Knock Off you should mention how it is very useful also to cripple rhyperior and other defensive Pokemon by removing Leftovers. in rhyperior's case it is especially annoying to keep Stealth Rock off the field if he continually gains health from leftovers and has toxic.

Implemented. Will add in the Rhyperior point with Knock Off when I write this up at some point tomorrow (not going to be around most of the day today)
