If you have trouble tackling Poison while using a Water-type team, Poison killer Greninja might be the set you've been looking for. Typically, the amazing defensive core of Mega Venusaur, Toxapex, and Alolan Muk proves very difficult to break for Water while being able to slowly chip down your Pokemon's HP. Poison killer Greninja is an amazing lure to bring in Alolan Muk, which typically walls most Greninja sets, and OHKO it with Tectonic Rage, allowing Greninja to much more easily clean through Poison teams with Extrasensory. Ice Beam is generally an amazing coverage attack, while Hidden Power Fire pairs very well with Tectonic Rage, as the combination threatens Steel-type teams. However, Groundium Z lacks the damage output a Life Orb set provides or the amazing speed control a Choice Scarf set offers. Therefore, this Greninja set pairs well with hazard setters like Swampert and Toxapex, setup Pokemon like Mega Gyarados and Suicune, and secondary speed control Pokemon like Keldeo. Although this Greninja may not be globally useful, running lure sets can be the key to success in winning difficult matchups in Monotype!
