heater.

this is the only set that's kinda outdated on heatran and since it's probably the best it should probably get a revamp...

[SET]
name: Support
move 1: Fire Blast
move 2: Explosion / Earth Power
move 3: Hidden Power Electric / Hidden Power Grass / Earth Power
move 4: Stealth Rock / Taunt
item: Passho Berry / Shuca Berry
nature: Rash / Modest
evs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SpA

[SET COMMENTS]

- lures in a bunch of stuff depending on the berry. passho gets gyarados / starmie / suicune / hydro rotom-a / etc. while shuca gets no stab EQers and other Heatran
- Fire Blast is strong and tears through a lot of things. Generic STAB
- Explosion works great especially with Passho for luring in Waters and killing them, also stuff like Blissey.
- Earth Power gets other Heatran
- HP Electric and Grass hits most Water types hard, Electric nails Gyarados while Grass beats Swampert. - EP + Boom is only worth it on Shuca really.
- Heatran is an excellent SRer, but if you already have SR somewhere, Taunt makes defensive mons cry

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

- great lure, use with a sweeper that benefits from that. if Passho, use it with something like Gyarados that likes Starmie and Suicune removed. If Shuca, use it with something like NP Celebi that likes Heatran gone.
- if you use it on the same team as Lucario, HP electric is great for removing Gyarados, a common counter. If you use HP Grass, then Tyranitar can benefit from Swampert being removed.
- use lo or specs if lead as it does better vs common leads thanks to higher bp moves (like overheat)
- Max Speed if Earth Power

[SET]
name: Anti-Lead
move 1: Magma Storm
move 2: Stealth Rock
move 3: Explosion
move 4: Will-O-Wisp
item: Lum Berry
nature: Modest
evs: 248 HP / 84 Def / 96 SpA / 80 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

- does well against a ton of common leads. Roserade, Machamp, Jirachi, Azelf, etc.
- Magma Storm kills other leads through sashes and is strong as fuck
- Stealth Rock is Stealth Rock
- Explosion nails Waters and allows you to escape bad situations in case of bad lead match up
- Will-O-Wisp cripples things that would otherwise shut down this set (i.e. ttar)

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

- The EV spread allows Heatran to always live Machamp's DynamicPunch, and will also always outspeed Machamp unless it runs a Jolly nature (which is never)
- great for offensive teams that are looking for a way to beat anti-leads while also needing a SR user
- other Heatran completely shut down this set so use something that can beat that
- Lum Berry is great because it beats status leads

i don't think we do speed creep on analyses so no 8 speed, make that spdef or atk and mention you can invest a few evs in speed in AC

you could slash hp grass before hp electric (i use it more often) but there is not much difference tbh so this order is fine. maybe mention that hp electric makes a great lucario teammate since most stall teams rely on gyara to take on luke

"- use lo or specs if lead"
mention overheat as well, i believe it gets some additional kills like guaranteed on machamp with specs, and from 0% to 75% with lo.

nice lead

edit: mention 32 spe w/ hp electric to outspeed gyarados
