I would mention that +2 Focus Blast does KO Chople Tyranitar (This is a very crucial benchmark when claiming this thing can break stall). Mentioning it in moves after explaining why Focus Blast is on the set is probably best.

Scizor, Yveltal, and Zekrom are mons I really disagree with being in team options just due to them being very unfriendly to the player, which stacks on top of using Hoopa, and they don't offer much in balance team stability that is coverable with another team member. If another QC member wants to argue for them I am all ears, but I really don't see them working well with Hoopa.

As for the rest it looks good to me.

Took into account, I still feel pivots are important to get Hoopa in safely and those were the only common ones I could come up with. I did mention them not offering much team stability, though

hi

[OVERVIEW]

With fantastic base stats and access to a large movepool with a wide range of coverage options, Hoopa-Unbound is difficult to switch into and has an excellent matchup versus stall. However, do not overestimateagainst stall. Despite that, however, its viability, as not only i should not be overestimated, as stall is the meta's least solid playstyle, in Ubers and Hoopa-U is also vulnerable to all forms of status and hazards. In addition, Hoopa-U is hindered by its mediocre Speed and pathetic Defense, making it vulnerawhich leave it susceptible to physical attackers and physical priority moves.

Moves
========

Nasty Plot is what makes this set soextremely deadly, turning Hoopa-U into a frighteningpowerful wallbreaker after just a single boost. Psyshock and Dark Pulse are obligatory STAB moves that hit a majority of the tier for at least neutral damage, and the latter destroyly; Dark Pulse also hits defensive walls such as Lugia, Giratina-Origin, Mega Sableye, and bulky Arceus formes very hard. Psyshock is used over Psychic in order to hitdeal specially bulky Pokemon, such as Blissey and Ho-Oh, large amounts of damage. Focus Blast is used to hits Tyranitar and Yveltal, which otherwise wall this set, and asuper effectively. A +2 Focus Blast is even able to OHKO Chople Berry Tyranitar. Some other moves could be used, but in general these are required for maxiumum coverage.

Set Details
========

Maximum Special Attack investment with a Modest nature allows Hoopa-U to OHKO Blissey, Ho-Oh, and Xerneas at +2when boosted, as well as max SpD Primal Groudon with maximum Special Defense after rocksStealth Rock damage and Yveltal. T; the EVs also allow Hoopa-U to OHKO max SpD non-Chople Berry-lacking Tyranitar with maximum Special Defense under sand. The remainder of the EVs are put into Speed to outspeed most Primal Groudon and non-Scarfed Xerneas.sets and Xerneas without a Choice Scarf. A Timid nature can also be run to outspeed max neutral-natured Pokemon with base 90 Speed that have 252 Speed EVs, but a Modest nature is usually preferred, asince this set functions best against stall. Life Orb is used to boost Hoopa-U's damage output while allowing move flexibilityit to switch moves, capitalizing on Hoopa-U'its coverage options. 29 HP IVs can be setused to minimize Life Orb recoil.

Usage Tips
========

Because Hoopa-U is very frail, try to bring it in via a double or aswitch or with pivot moves such as U-turn orand Volt Switch. However, do not switch it directly in to powerful physical or special attackers, as even with a relatively high Special Defense stat, Hoopa-U can't take hitis unable to survive moves like Latios' Draco Meteor. Opposing Yveltal, if given a free switch in, can doeal massive amounts of damage to Hoopa-U, so try to catch it on thewhen it switches in. As Hoopa-U's worst matchup is against offense, it can be used as fodder to bring a teammate in safely or as a one-time check to some special attackers, such as Dialga and Mega Mewtwo Y; as such don't play Hoopa-UHoopa-U should not be played conservatively against such playstyleams. It can also heavily damagent Primal Groudon, as even fully SpDefspecially defensive variants are 2HKOed by a LO ife Orb-boosted Dark Pulse, and check Extreme Killer Arceus, as an unboosted Extreme Speed cannot OHKO Hoopa-U. Against stall teams, Hoopa-U is best used as an early-mid or mid-game wallbreaker, paving the way for a team membermate to sweep late-game. Hoopa-U itself can also act as a late-game sweeper after its checks and counters have been removed, as it finds itself with many setup opportunities when against stall.

Team Options
========

Scizor, Landorus-T, Zekrom, and Yveltal make for good teammates, as they can pivot Hoopa-U in againsto something it checks easily, such as physically bulky Pokemon like Skarmory, which is important, as Hoopa-U's middling sSpeed and atrocious Defense leave it with few chances to directly comeswitch in. However, it should be noted the aforementioned Pokemon do not typically offer much defensive synergy or general team stability, although Zekrom can check Yveltal, which can be a major problem for Hoopa-U, and Scizor can take on fairy Fairy-types, notably countering Mega Diancie. Other Fairy-type checks that pair well with Hoopa-U include Primal Groudon, Ho-Oh, and Klefki, and; the latter is especially appreciated, asince it can paralyze faster threats to aid Hoopa-U in its wallbreaking. Pokemon that can take on physical attackers such as Skarmory, bulky Mega Salamence, Giratina-Origin, and bulky Arceus formes that can take on physical attackers are mandatory. Pokemon that perform well versusagainst offense, such as Choice Scarfed Xerneas and Darkrai, are appreciated as welllso make for good teammates. In addition, late-game cleaners can take advantage of Hoopa-U's wallbreaking to sweep late-game. Double Dance Primal Groudon and Swords Dance Ground Arceus especially appreciate Hoopa-U's ability to break through Lugia and Giratina-O.

Other Options
=============

Leftovers can be used instead of Life Orb to provide better longevityallow Hoopa-U to stay longer on the field at a significant power cost. Notably,cost to its power; for example, a +2 Psyshock at +2 is no longer a guaranteed to OHKO on Ho-Oh and fails to OHKO Xerneas without the Life Orb boost. Wise Glasses can be used to balance the two,power and longevity, as it still guaranteeings the OHKO on Ho-Oh and Blissey after a boost, with a chance to OHKO Xerneas as well. However, thisSuch a a set misses out on the OHKO on Extreme Killer Arceus, however. Because of Hoopa-U's naturally high offensive stats, other sets also can be attempted as well. A mixed set with Hyperspace Fury/Psychic/Gunk Shot/, Psychic, Gunk Shot, and Drain Punch is an optioncan be used, taking full advantage of Hoopa-U's coverage moves, although this set performs notably worse against stall since it is unable to achievedue to its inability to key KOs such as Primal Groudon dubecause to its lack of a boosting move. Trick Room is another interesting option that capitalizes on Hoopa-U's relatively low base 80 Speed. Choice items can also be used, although this could potentially make Hoopa-U weaker to Pursuit baitusers. Finally, Grass Knot can be used to hit Ground and Water Arceus harder while retainstill dealing decent amounts of damage ton Primal Groudon; however, Lugia completely walls that set.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Defensive Fairies**: These includey-types**: Defensive Fairy-types such as Fairy Arceus, Klefki, and the rare defensive Xerneas, all of which can can all beat Hoopa-U one on -on-one.

**Physical Attackers**: Most physical attackers, such as Mega Salamence and Rayquaza, can take any hit from Hoopa-U and OHKO it or deal massive damage back even with non-STAB attacks, givenmoves that do not receive STAB in return due to Hoopa-U's pitiful defenses. Mega Salamence and Rayquaza are common examples.

**Priority Moves**: Common physical priority moves, such as Extreme Speed and Bullet Punch, deal massive damage to Hoopa-U. Such userUsers of such moves include Mega Lucario, Extreme Killer Arceus, Rayquaza, Giratina-O, and Deoxys-A.

**Offensive Arceus formes**: Swords Dance Ground and Ghost Arceus can OHKO Hoopa-U with their respective STAB moves, while an Adamant Life Orb Extreme Killer Arceus has a chance to do so as well.

**Choice Scarfed Users**: Common scarfers, such asChoice Scarf users can deal with Hoopa-U very easily; for example, Choice Scarf Xerneas and Genesect, can both OHKO Hoopa-U with Moonblast and U-turn, respectively.

**Primal Groudon**: Both offensive and defensive variants of Primal Groudon can take an unboosted attack from Hoopa-U and OHKO backit in return, even with noout any Attack investment.

**Yveltal**: While offensive Yveltal can't directly switch into a +2 Focus Blast, if given a free switch it can proceed to do massiveheavily damage to Hoopa-U with Knock Off, Sucker Punch, or Foul Play if given a free switch in.

**Mega Diancie**: OMega Diancie outspeeds Hoopa-U and has a good chance to OHKO Hoopa-Uhigh chance of OHKOing it; however, it has to be wary of taking a Life Orb Psyshock before Mega Evolving.

**Ho-Oh**: The occasional max Speed Ho-Oh is able outspeed and OHKO Hoopa-U, while itHoopa-U cannot OHKO backit with anything when unboosted.

Maximum Special Attack investment with a Modest nature allows Hoopa-U to OHKO Blissey, Ho-Oh, and Xerneas after a Geomancy boost, as well as Primal Groudon with maximum Special Defense investment after Stealth Rock damage and Yveltal; (this is unclear, OHKO Yveltal after SR or nah? If it's the former, move it before "after Stealth Rock damage", if it's the latter just group it with Blissey / Ho-Oh / Xerneas) the EVs also allow Hoopa-U to OHKO Chople Berry-lacking Tyranitar with maximum Special Defense under sand.
