How do you set Hidden Power

I have been having problems with setting Hidden Power, ive selected it under my attacks and have set it to Electric, but when im in battle it says: Hidden Powe(Normal)!!! Whats WRONG???????

It always says it's Normal-type, but it will be an Electric-type move (or whatever type you want it to be) once you use it. The damage will be calculated correctly. You'll just have to remember what type you set it to be as the game won't remind you in battle.

Hidden Power is always a Normal type move. However, it does damage of a type other than normal, based on your IVs. If you selected a particular type in the team builder, it will change your IVs, so Hidden Power will do damage of the desired type, while still being a Normal type move, as it always is.
