Welcome to smogon Travy! To answer your tournament question: go to the tournament section and scroll down. You'll notice that the big tourneys have their own "subforum'. These tourneys have a set date on which they start and some of them are exclusive. Scroll down the tournamentspage and you'll find the smaller ones. Each of the tourneys (big and small) have a signup thread. Look out for those if you want to participate. Just type "in" during the time they give to register will suffice. How will you know if you got in?-> When the tourney starts the person in charge will post a matchup thread where all participants get to know their opponents. If there's no new tournament in the tier(s) you play there's always the tournamentroom on pokemonshowdown (if this room doesnt still your tournamenthunger nothing will :) ) If you have any more questions let me know.

How's it going? My first game was Emerald, but I only started applying the competitive knowledge I gained from PS! in Y. I never really took to breeding or trading for competitive Pokemon, though. It's too bad you don't have a favorite Pokemon; maybe you have a most-used? :o
Since you are interested in UU, you might find the Competitive Discussion forum a cool place. If you're interested in getting involved with the UU forum, I'd recommend reading the Beginner's Guide first. Joining in the discussions can not only help you learn a lot about the tier, but also get to know some members of the community. In addition, the UnderUsed room in Showdown can be a good place to go to join the UU community and meet fellow UU players.
Also check out the Viability Rankings thread and the Sample Teams thread as they can be valuable resources when building a team.

Hey TravyTheChozenOne ! Welcome to Smogon! Pokemon Yellow is a favorite of mine, but wasnt alive when it came out (15). Also, Charizard is a cool mon! My favorite is Accelgor. Anyway, if you want to get involved with Tournaments, I reccomend practicing battling a lot, and getting to know the metagame of the tier you want to start it. You can join tournaments by looking in the tier rooms on Smogon, such as Underused, Rarelyused, Neverused, etc. There is also official smogon tournaments to! You will know if you are in because you will be tagged in a post they make. Anyway, welcome to Smogon!

Awesome! Welcome to smogon Andy! Pangoro is one of my favorite mons, and actually has my favorite move, Parting Shot... haha. Anyway Smogon is a great place to trade, battle, and make new friends like you said! And wow, you took a LOT of time off of Pokemon! haha. Emerald was the first game I played, and I must say it is my favorite. I recommend signing up on Pokemon Showdown If you want to get better at Competitive mons, and get to know other people well! Hey man! I actually was the same way I stopped in Emerald, didn't do anything 4th and 5th, then got into competitive in 6th, even though I haven't played the game. Blaziken is a really cool mon, and Gardevoir was one of my favorites in gen3! Haha. However, I must say, I always liked Swampert better :]. Also, if you feel like you wanna get better at Competitive Battling, I actually reccomend going on PS more then, and talking with the people online and getting to know the metagame better. There is also many forums on here for every tier to help you learn the viablility of mons, and help your teambuilding and overall performance. So yeah!

Welcome to Smogon sovversivo ! Smogon is fun, and I do reccomend lurking a lot before you start making serious posts, especially RMT's. If you want to get better at OU teambuilding, and just making good teams in general, I suggest checking out the Overused Teambuilding Guide. 2 other helpful links to check out are the Overused Viability Rankings, and the Overused Metagame Discussion Thread. These can make you a great battler! Also, if you are thinking of posting an RMT, I suggest looking at other RMT's to get an idea on how to post, and check the posting guide on that Forum. I also agree it is very fun to learn on the battlefield! Anyway I hope I helped and have a great day! :)

I have some interest in competitive battling, but mostly play on-cartridge (especially in battle facilities). I joined mostly because I recently picked up my year-long-forgotten love of digital art and wanted feedback from others interested both in Pokemon and digital painting (I created an art thread even before doing this). Well, now that that's out of the way, here my answers to those helpful icebreakers on the first post:

• Your favourite Pokemon? Xerneas, Gardevoir, Suicune, Arceus, Sylveon... Lots... but if I had to choose one, I'd go with Xerneas.
• Are you on PS? Easy answer. No.
• What you plan to do here? Rebuild my skills as an artist and hopefully contribute some pieces.
• Things you might need help with? LIterally everything - except hide tags. I've got those down.
• A little background info about you in real life, if you're ok with sharing that? Err... I'm a student. That likes to draw... and use ellipses... obviously.
• Favourite Pokemon games? Playability-wise, definitely X/Y and OR/AS. In terms of the Pokemon released in those games... It'd be between Gens 3 and 6.

Anyway could I see your link to your Art Thread, I am interested! By your favorite pokemon, I can see you like Fairy types! Haha. Then I used to love Charizard and Dragonite (basically anything that looked like a dinosaur and had wings). My first games were Ruby and Sapphire when I was around 10-11 years maybe. Then I played side games like Red and Blue Rescue team. I never did 100% complete those or DPPt or HGSS, I just played the beginning and got bored after 6-7 gyms whatever. I didn't follow the later games (BW and XY and ORAS). I also played Stadium and Stad 2 but not the other console games.

Fav Pkmn Blaziken, I'm bad with names but my sister used to name hers Johnny or Jonny in RSE (we had both, she played one, I played the other) so every time I use a Blaziken or its pre evolution, I nickname it Jo(h)nny. I was neutral towards Pikachu but now I hate it and its fandom.

PS Yup, I started on PS about ~10 months ago maybe and thought it was worth a shot to try it seriously rather than just casually. I try only random battles since I suck at teambuilding and haven't followed the mechanics for so long. Same username ywa1n

What I plan to do here Eh, let's see where the wind takes me (that rhymed)

What I need help with Does anyone have the list to the battle music on PS? I have all the Pokemon albums but I'd hate to listen to every single one of them to just find 6-7 songs to add to my playlist. I have recognised some of them about 3-4. I know most of them are from DS versions like the Cheren theme and the rival theme.
Also, I'm trying to record all of my battles (download replay function on PS, the one that gives html file), can somebody request the PS programmers to save the Pokemon's EVs/IVs, team etc, all the details that matter along with the battle details? Thanks.
Last question, shininess is dependent on IVs. If you choose to shiny the pokemon on PS teambuilder, does it affect the

Favourite pokemon games Definitely Stadium 2, just for the minigames. I have fond memories (and videos) of playing them multiplayer with my sister and cousin. Neither of them really liked gaming so Eager Eevee was the most played. My favourite was the Beyblade Hitmontop one.

Welcome to Smogon! I also used to watch the Indigo League oh so long ago, but otherwise I wasn't really interested in Pokemon until some years ago. RSE were my first, too, and I also started them when I was around eleven. I didn't play many side games, but I did manage to play every generation after the third. However, Emerald will always be my favorite. <3 Torchic is my favorite starter aside from Turtwig, thanks to nostalgia reasons, but Bisharp is my favorite fully evolved Pokemon. I'm indifferent towards Pikachu, but I agree with you in that it is definitely overhyped.
As far as I know, the music in Showdown consists of all the rival, gym leaders, and other trainer soundtracks since Generation 4. I'm not sure if there is a full list detailing each one, though. :( As for your request, you could post in the Showdown Suggestions thread if you'd like.

And yes, I am quite fond of fairy-types. When they were first announced, I was like... that's dumb. But ever since, they've really grown on me. I especially love the more interesting non-generic non-overly-pink things like Xerneas, Mawile, Gardevoir, certain colours of Florges, etc. But still, I love Pokemon of all types! One day, I'll get around to finishing that draw your favorite Pokemon of each type thing (I have three done: Gardevoir for Psychic, Frosslass for Ice, and Articuno for Flying). Actually, there aren't any ground types I'm especially fond of (at least design-wise/flavor-wise)... But I can always use Arceus-Ground for that one.

Hi! I would say welcome, but I'm so new I'm not sure I'm really qualified to do so. At any rate, my first game was also Sapphire, and because of that Gen III will always be one of my favorites. And, like you,
played the rescue team side games. I still maintain that those are the only Pokemon games with a decent (actually really good) plot.

For those of you who are also on the Nuzlocke Forum, you might recognize me as Mac, the Dark Lord of the Sith. I joined the forum to get into the Competitive aspect of Pokemon, not to mention I had some familiarity with this site before I joined. So wish me luck here.

My favorite pokemon in OU is Mega Gardevoir, but I also really like Rotom-W and Talonflame

Mostly OU and UU. UU is my comfort zone in terms of tiers and restriction, but I don't mind getting a handle out of OU. Hell, I wouldn't mind trying out RU, NU and maybe PU as well.

Hey everyone! I just got an account but I have been playing pokemon for quite some time now. I basically only play OU, but I'm not that good.

Welp, I just spent the last hour (no really) staring at this wondering what to say.
...There's one thing, I suck at introductions :D

• I am an 18 year old male (ladies (jk lol (but not about the 18 year old male part, that's real))) who has been watching pokemon since he was a kid.
• My first game is Pokemon Soulsilver (I was depressed to see that pokemon didn't follow you around in older games as they do in SS), and I played most of it thinking I couldn't switch the lead pokemon out (Yes, I played the entire game with my Chikorita/Bayleef/Meganium out front)
• I have about 25 favorite pokemon, and only a quarter of them are competitively viable (two of them are early game bug types). Only two of them are legendaries, but 5 of them are eeveelutions (excluding eevee itself). The absolute top fav that I tell everyone is Mawile.
• Funny story about how my favorite was officially decided, I was passing by the route before the Kanto Power Plant when I learn there is a Mawile horde nearby, and I decide that since I was passing by, that I would grab one (probably needed it for the pokedex or something). If I remember properly, I was thinking about how cute it was, but ... for some reason I decided it would be a good idea to use the gal (it was female) in battle, and I was impressed at how well things were going using her. Ultimately, I wound up using her far more often than I intended, and being able to interact with pokemon in the overworld didn't help matters one little bit. Give or take a week or two, and I've finally realized I had a favorite pokemon when before I was fairly indifferent to anything that couldn't defeat gym leaders/elite 4. Still have that same Mawile even in gen 6... also this was before gen 6 was even announced.
• ...anyways, I'm a very second place person. I honest to god can't remember ever being in the top spot, only in that second or third position.
• I own Black, White 2, Y, and Alpha Sapphire. I think I lent family my old Soulsilver, but they never returned it for some reason...
• I also own Super Mystery Dungeon and all the F2P eshop pokemon games, though I have Shuffle on my phone.
• I identify as a competitive player, but in all honestly I've never played online, and only ever partook in one very small tournament at an anime convention (for those who might care, Kumoricon 2015). There is this nag in my head that tells me I'm still not ready. Thinking about it, how did I ever bring myself to partake in that tourney?
• But I intend to get ready, and... well aside from asking if completely resetting my games will affect me as a player, I fully intend to learn everything I can in whatever amount of time I use here.
• Pokemon is something I know I could never and will never fully abandon, among so many other interests I have (general video gaming, music listening, reading, watching anime, imagining stories/fanfics and never writing them out, etc etc etc). It's actually a little sad, but that's yet to stop me.
• ...did I do good? I think I went overboard again...

Wow! Lots if information! Anyway, Welcome to Smogon Xenomata ! Haha, SS was a cool game. Me and my brother played that a lot. Mawile is a cool mon, I like it. Its typing is really cool, and the cooltrainers in Victory Road in Emerald always had good ones LOL. Also, This is the best place to get into Competitive Battling so that is good! Also what is Kumoricon? I have never heard of that. Also, I don't think you went overboard, you are just letting people get to know you!
