Training Items are things like Amulet Coin (increases the CC earned), Exp. Share (increases MC earned), and Lucky Egg (increases EC/AC earned). To my knowledge only those three and Luck Incense (which is useless on everything but Happpiny, Chansey, and Blissey) are allowed when only training items can be used. They don't really effect the battle (Luck Incense being the exception) aside from the prizes afterward.

In general it is a good idea to sub for protective/evasive moves unless there's something more threatening that takes priority. There is only one way I can attempt to disrupt you here...

First, we both still have two Pokémon left. The battle hasn't ended yet

Second, Even though it wouldn't make a difference this time around, Destiny bond doesn't work through detect.
