[OVERVIEW]

Kecleon has an intriguing ability in Protean, which is its main niche over other Physical Attackers. Kecleon also has solid Attack and Special Defense stats, which work well with an Assault Vest to be bulky on the special side and still hit effectively. In addition, Kecleon has a wide Movepool, although it's held back by its low Speed, HP, and Defense stats, which leave it weak to physical attackers. On the downside, Kecleon faces competition from other physical attackers such as Sneasel, Escavalier, and Scrafty, due to their larger offensive presence, although it has access to different forms of STAB priority.

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Knock Off can remove a foe's item, and is Kecleon's strongest move if the target has an item. Drain Punch provides a bit of recovery, as well as helping Kecleon take on Steel-, Ice-, and Rock-types, such as Steelix, Glalie, and Rhyperior better. Sucker Punch can pick off weakened Pokemon, as well as allowing Kecleon to outspeed faster foes. Ice Punch can help Kecleon take on Flygon, Tangrowth, Togetic, and Druddigon. Aqua Tail can be useful in taking on Rhyperior better, as well as being a solid check to Mega Camerupt. Thunder Punch can allow Kecleon to do more damage towards Alomomola, Qwilfish, and other bulky Water-types.

Set Details
========

Protean guarantees that every attack Kecleon uses gains a STAB bonus, giving it a major boost to its attacking presence. Assault Vest compliments Kecleon's superb Special Defense, allowing it to take more hits on the special side, although it prevents Kecleon from using any of its support moves, such as Encore, Recover, and Stealth Rock. Kecleon's HP investment allows it to be as bulky as it can, while maximum Attack EVs with an Adamant nature allows Kecleon to be as powerful as it can. 88 Speed EVs allow Kecleon to outpace Pokemon such as Druddigon, Rhyperior, Eelektross, Tangrowth, and Togetic.

Usage Tips
========

On most occasions, Kecleon should use Knock Off against a foe, unless it's faced with an itemless foe, Mega Pokemon, or a Pokemon that resists it. Sucker Punch should be used to pick off weakened foes, although it can be very risky predicting if a foe will attack or not. Paired with an Assault Vest, Kecleon can check Special Attackers such as Delphox, Houndoom, and Meloetta, although it lacks recovery so it can't do it constantly. Switch out of strong physical attackers such as Emboar, Tyrantrum, and Hitmonlee, as they can do massive damage to Kecleon.

Team Options
========

Pokemon such as Qwilfish, Aromatisse, Togetic, Spiritomb, and Druddigon can take on Fighting-types for Kecleon, while Physical wallbreakers, such as Tyrantrum, Emboar, Hitmonlee, and Mega Glalie can weaken physical walls and make it easier for Kecleon to clean an opposing team. Wish support from Pokemon such as Aromatisse, Alomomola, and Jolteon can recovery Kecleon's health. Speed Control, such as paralysis support from Togetic and Druggigon, can allow Kecleon to outpace foes it normally wouldn't such as Alomomola and Hitmontop.

Other Options
=============

In place of an Assault Vest, Kecleon can utilize a Life Orb to gain more damage on its attacks, although it sacrifices bulk and its health. Recover can be used to heal back Kecleon's health, although it takes up an important moveslot and prevents Kecleon from using an Assault Vest. Kecleon can also run Toxic to cripple walls and setup sweepers. Thunder Wave can be used to slow down foes, and allow Kecleon's teammates to revenge kill them. Shadow Sneak gives Kecleon more coverage, is a priority move, and can temporarily block Fighting-type moves when used with Protean. Fake Out can allow Kecleon to break Focus Sash and Sturdy, although it takes up a moveslot and isn't as useful as Kecleon's other moves. Return hits most Pokemon for strong neutral coverage, although it doesn't help Kecleon take on many Pokemon better. Kecleon can run Stealth Rock; however, it doesn't have the moveslot for it, and it is outclassed by the likes of Mega Steelix and Rhyperior, due to their superior bulk.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Fighting-types**: Emboar, Hitmonlee, Medicham, and Virizion, can outpace and OHKO Kecleon, although they have to play around Protean. In addition, bulky Fighting-types such as Hitmontop and Gurdurr can take any hit Kecleon wants to throw out and respond with a Fighting-type STAB.

**Strong Physical Attackers**: Due to Kecleon's low HP and Defense, Pokemon such as Durant, Escavalier, Scrafty, and Tyrantrum can deal massive damage towards Kecleon, although Kecleon's priority can weaken them.

**Physical Walls**: Alomomola, Weezing, Rhyperior, and other physically defensive walls can take most hits Kecleon wants to throw at them, while they can spread status to it.

**Residual Damage**: Kecleon is extremely crippled by status as Toxic and burn can wear it down easier, with the former increasing residual damage per turn, and the former halving Kecleon's Attack. Due to Kecleon not being able to access recovery due to Assault Vest, entry hazards can wear it down quickly as well.

Alright, I don't particularly see Thunder Punch as particularly useful as you can't 2hko Fish or Fish. Keep it listed in moves, I would do Ice Punch / Aqua Tail, as Aqua tail, aside from being useful for Rhyperior, makes Kekleon an excellent Mega Camerupt answer. Add Togetic to targets hit by Ice Punch, cause Knock Off + Ice Punch can 2hko after SR, and 2 Ice Punches has a 90% chance to 2hko after rocks.

I guess QC approved 1/3 ?_? if another qc member says it needs more it does as I don't have a lot of experience w/ this mon.

Remvoe Sticky Web. Kecleon is still too slow to really outspeed anything even with it

QC approved 1/3 or 2/3 depending on llamas rofl

atomicllamas did u qc check this or not =(

Yes unless it's bad, you approved it so then my answer is also yes :)

Just wanted someone who was more confident about kec to check it out

Overview:

you sell kecleon too well. its just a mediocre pokemon. talk about what it has over its competition (priority mostly)

Team options:

Psychic- and Flying-types, such as Delphox and Braviary respectively, can take on Fighting-types for Kecleon.
not really at all. replace with stuff like qwilfish, tisse, toge, spiritomb, etc

rhyperior is not really a physical wallbreaker 99.999% of the cases replace with glalie, hitmonlee, etc

Clerics such as Aromatisse and Meloetta can remove status from Kecleon and allow it to do more damage against a team and stay healthy.
meloetta never runs heal bell and the cleric support thing is true for every Pokemon ever so no

Kecleon is faster than amoonguss lol

Entry hazard setters such as Rhyperior, Steelix, Seismitoad, and Drapion can allow Kecleon to clean an opposing team easier.
true for every pokemon known to existance

this section in general needs a lot of work since its so generic and makes me think you never used this lol

also Kecs problem with SR is the lack of a moveset more than anything

c&c needs work since its so generic too

as of counters fighting types like Hitmontop and gurdurr are definitely more relevant than hitmonlee who takes like 70% from sucker punch and dies from drain punch or whatever lol

residual damage needs to be there in combo with status (kec doesnt dislike paralysis that much after all so it cant be burned) since drain is hardly enough and hazards wear this down quickly
