IAR countered every move of EM and it resulted in a nerve-racking photo finish.

What an end to a great battle between two amazing players of the game.

Elevator Music decides that he wants to end this battle as soon as possible, and goes all out against the Mega Khan.

While Its_A_Random makes it certain that Mega Metagross doesn't go back to its pokeball standing on its arms.

The two pokemon have a full go at each other attacking and countering, until finally the Mega Metagross is blasted back with such a force that would have almost knocked down two fully healthy shuckles.

But this great ordeal from the Mega Khan left her so exhausted that she couldn't hold her ground, and she soon fell to the ground before the battle could be called.

Thus resulting in a tie @_@

Although, unfortunately the tournament rules dictate that there can only be one winner for any battle.

Tournament rules vary. The only rule always up is the Self-KO Rule. If your final pokemon KOes the final pokemon of your opponent, but for that it had to KO itself (Energy KO, Explosion, Perish Song, Destiny Bond etc etc etc), your opponent is the winner. Everything else is up to the hosts.

And this means that Elevator Music manages to advance to the next round in the tourney, despite the battle resulting in a tie (Well someone had to advance to the next round right?).
