Clefable @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 172 Def / 84 SpD
Calm Nature
- Moonblast
- Knock Off
- Soft-boiled
- Stealth Rock

Basic SR Clefable, but with Knock Off. Knock Off cripples Metagross by removing it's Assault Vest, so it can't safely Pursuit trap and check Fairies like it should.

togekiss.gif

Togekiss @ Leftovers / Lum Berry / Shed Shell
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Air Slash
- Fire Blast
- Nasty Plot
- Roost

Metagross is usually able to check Togekiss very well, however it can't take a +2 Fire Blast from a Modest variant, or OHKO with Bullet Punch

+2 252+ SpA Togekiss Fire Blast vs. 252 HP / 96 SpD Assault Vest Metagross: 326-384 (89.5 - 105.4%) -- 68.8% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock
164 Atk Metagross Bullet Punch vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Togekiss: 134-158 (43 - 50.8%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery

Knock Off Conkeldurr

Conkeldurr @ Life Orb
Ability: Guts
EVs: 236 HP / 252 Atk / 20 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Drain Punch
- Mach Punch
- Poison Jab/Ice Punch
- Knock Off

252+ Atk Life Orb Conkeldurr Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Metagross: 255-302 (70 - 82.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO (but OHKO if Conkeldurr is statused)
+ 252+ Atk Life Orb Conkeldurr Mach Punch vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Metagross: 79-95 (21.7 - 26%) -- 7.5% chance to 4HKO ===> you deal from 91,7 % to 108,9 % with this combination

P.S. Knock Off cleanly OHKOes if Conkeldurr is statused.

Normally Metagross resists 4x the STAB Fighting moves it carries (Drain Punch for self recovery + Mach Punch to do extra chip damage which are mandatory) but the indroduction of Knock Off makes it a good way to punish some switch-ins (i.e. Lati@s, Slowbro, AV Metagross and so on) which relies on their item to be effective in the case you are not able to 2HKO the target on the switch with the Dark move + the STAB priority.
Alongside Poison Jab to hit Fairy types you have a solid lure even though the Ice coverage is so useful and solid.
Metagross doesn't 4x resist fighting

celebi.gif

Celebi @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 60 HP / 252 SpA / 196 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Nasty Plot
- Giga Drain
- Earth Power
- Recover

Nobody runs offensive/wallbreaking Celebi so this might caught off guard AV metagross, it doesnt HKO after +2 with Earth Power but Metagross cannot beat it with the combination of Meteor + BP. Here the calcs:
+2 252 SpA Celebi Earth Power vs. 248 HP / 96 SpD Assault Vest Metagross: 214-254 (58.9 - 69.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
164+ Atk Metagross Meteor Mash vs. 60 HP / 0 Def Celebi: 157-186 (44.1 - 52.2%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery
164+ Atk Metagross Bullet Punch vs. 60 HP / 0 Def Celebi: 70-84 (19.6 - 23.5%) -- possible 6HKO after Leftovers recovery

I don't really like anyone besides mine but i choose Focus Sash Thunder Wave Alakazam due to the fact it can attack always twice per match thanks to Focus Sash alongside Magic Guard.

Knock Off Clefable

It's between this and Gardevoir IMO since both cripple it / stop it from doing it's job properly.

BTW mad I didn't remember it during that week, but a great lure for Defensive Lando-T is double dance Lando-T. Everyone switches in like oh I wall him he walls me nobody wins, then you start setting up, EZ

Alakazam and megavoir nope, becos just a status don't make a lure, also heal bell exist. Conkeldurr is not a metagross lure, becos it have no business switchin into it, so no either.
Clef, Toge and Celebi seems all legit, but voting Nasty Plot Togekiss just becos i have used it and is a pretty cool set.

Voting is over and our winner through voting is Will-O-Wisp Mega Gardevoir by Gareth de Voir and our other winner is Knock Off Clefable!

Honorable Mentions include Nasty Plot Togekiss and Focus Sash Thunder Wave Alakazam!

Will-O-Wisp Mega Gardevoir: 7
Knock Off Clefable: 4
Focus Sash Thunder Wave Alakazam: 2
Nasty Plot Togekiss: 1

Week 16 Special Defensive Mega Ampharos

ampharos-mega.png

Ampharos @ Ampharosite
Ability: Static
EVs: 248 HP / 28 SpA / 232 SpD
Calm Nature
- Volt Switch
- Dragon Pulse
- Rest
- Sleep Talk
Mega Ampharos (better known as Fabio) is a pretty nice bulky electric type that's able to check a ton of stuff including Zard Y, Talonflame, and Torn-T. One really nice thing about this certain set, is that it's able to have a lot of bulk via the special defensive EV input, and it's able to use Rest + Sleep Talk to stay healthy and check threats all game long.

130-mega.gif

Gyarados @ Gyaradosite
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Crunch
- Waterfall
- Earthquake

With RestTalk and a fat SpDef, you're probably going to not want to hit this thing on its strong side. The lure here is the turn-one mega (also a necessity to avoid getting fried, obviously), and while Dos doesn't like the Volt Switch anyway, it'll still take one heck of a shot anyway:

28 SpA Mold Breaker Mega Ampharos Volt Switch vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Mega Gyarados: 192-228 (58 - 68.8%)
252+ Atk Mold Breaker Mega Gyarados Earthquake vs. 248 HP / 0 Def Mega Ampharos: 262-310 (68.4 - 80.9%)

Physical Offensive M-Venusaur

Venusaur-Mega @ Venusaurite
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 232 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 20 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Knock Off
- Seed Bomb
- Swords Dance

+2 252+ Atk Mega Venusaur Earthquake vs. 248 HP / 0 Def Mega Ampharos: 384-452 (100.2 - 118%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Normally, Special offensive M-Venusaur is able to 4HKO this M-Ampharos with Sludge Bomb (3HKO if the poison chance becomes true) and is 3HKO in return by the Dragon STAB (even the Defensive M-Veusaur is 3HKOed and does less damage in return) ===> Mega Venu is easily PP stalled with Rest.
But now we have the possibility to run a B- set* with physical moves which transform the Kanto Grass starter into a great lure for many pokemons including Heatran, Lati@s and Psychic types in general if they switch-in on a Knock Off, Magnezone, Mega-Charizard X and so on.

* With the physical spread you lose to burns, you have to drop recovery in the form of Giga Drain (=you will be worn down easily) and the ubiquitous poison move which can be quite useful, not to mention you have to forget your SpA which is higher than your Atk stat.

Charizard @ Charizardite Y
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Fire Blast
- Solar Beam
- Dragon Pulse
- Roost

Fabio can usually switch into any move that zardy wants to use, so modest dpulse can 2hko amphy after rocks and is pretty cool for wearing it down when coupled with another sweeper that fabio is supposed to check since it has to rely on restalk for recovery, but this lure does require rocks support to work regardless of it living one volt switch.

talonflame.gif

Talonflame
Ability: Gale Wings
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SpD / 8 Spe
Careful Nature
- Acrobatics
- Roost
- Bulk Up
- Taunt

The premise is that MAmph is the team's Talonflame check. Here, we try to disrupt that. You can catch MAmph with Taunt on the switch so it Volt Switches out (meaning you Roost accordingly) or worse, render it useless for a few turns if it's Asleep (Sleep Talk gets blocked by Taunt). It doesn't bring a lot of damage but at least you can do better than most other Talonflame. Make the most out of that VS attempt but DO NOT initiate this if Talonflame's checks are still healthy enough to take it on (say, Ttar because no to WoW).

Ampharos sure hardwalls this, but it's cool since VS does 20-ish% if Talonflame Roosts at the right moment; Dragon Pulse also deals slightly the same amount. Some Ground NG set can be used here but w/e.

I'm really noticing I'm always presenting passive lures here. I'll try switching that next week.
