- Crunch hits the bulky ghosts/psychics for maximum damage, while ice fang covers grounds and grasses that resist STAB.
- Superpower to smack normal types and also is Luxray's second most powerful physical move.

Set Details

Choice band is obvious item to pump up luxray's great attack stat.
Ev's are simple, 252 atk/speed to maximize offensive output, 4 special attack and a -spd nature so volt switch isn't weakened. -SpDef is chosen because many priority moves are physical.
Outspeeding neutral 80's or +ATK nature is user's choice.
Guts is only ability listed, because without it, a burn makes it dead weight.
Usage Tips
- Switch-in to bulky targets, or ghosts since they usually rely on status to deal damage.
Team Options
========
- Flying types help alleviate luxray's 1 and only ground weakness, while he provides switchin opportunities by taking electric attacks.
- Setup sweepers like bouffalant and simisear appreciate walls broken by luxray.

- Thunderbolt or Wild Charge for STAB, depending on what your team needs more.

- Superpower to hit opposing electrics as hard as possible, while also hitting faster normals.
Set Details
========
Max speed and Spatk/Atk depending on whether you want luxray as a special or physical attacker. Mixed is also an option, but splitting evs can max luxray noticeably weak.
Choice Scarf to help mitigate Luxray's low speed, outspeeding a good portion of the unboosted metagame, outspeeding everything except base 130's and above.
The ev's and nature allow it to outspeed base 110's and below, although naïve can be used to outspeed upto base 130's.
Special Luxray benefits more from intimidate, allowing it to act as a pivot and cushion any physical blows it is switching into. Physical scarf still prefers guts, and can still act as a status absorber.
Usage Tips
========
Use as a pivot switch into weaker physical attacks and use its offensive pressure to bring in frail sweepers like ursaring more easily.
A decent revenge killer, destroying targets like ursaring and sneasel with much ease.
Team Options
========
-Having other pivots such as gourgeist-super or misdreavus to tank attacks aimed at luxray. They also spread burns to help luxray tank physical hits more easily against burned targets

- Life Orb is a potential option, but it subtracts from luxrays decent bulk and luxray's movepool isn't that great to abuse orb as well as other electrics.

**Phy Def. Grasses** extremely bulky grass types can give luxray trouble as he doesn't have much to hurt them with.
