[SET COMMENTS]
Magic Guard Yveltal is a mixed wall that can check top metagame threats such as Giratina, Mega Gengar, Mega Rayquaza and Primal Groudon while being immune to sleep and consistently spreading status on the opposing team. This set's biggest strength is Magic Guard, not only does it allow to freely switch even when Stealth Rock are up, but it also makes it a perfect counter to Giratina by being immune to Curse, Toxic and Will-O-Wisp.

Yveltal can either choose between Psycho Shift or Will-O-Wisp to spread status, Psycho Shift cannot be bounced or miss but it fails to status fairly common Pokemon such as Mega Beedrill and Dialga. Meanwhile, Will-O-Wisp punishes physical attackers such as Mega Mewtwo X and Zekrom in the switch at the cost of having a chance to miss, being able to be bounced, doing less damage in the long run and not affecting Primal-Groudon, which is one of your main targets. Recover is essential to Yveltal's longevity and any set not using it or any of its variants will struggle to fullfill its job as a wall after switching repeated times. Foul Play is by far the most important move in this set, and is what makes it a tremendous threat, as it OHKOs Shell Smash boosted Mega Rayquaza, Mega Gengar, Primal Groudon and more while threatening huge damage on Huge Power users and strong physical attackers that would otherwise come without a problem such as Mega Mewtwo X, Zekrom and Slaking. Snarl is a utility move that can lower the special attack from special threats like Quiver Dance Rayquaza while punishing substitute passers such as Mega Gengar, Deoxys-Attack and Mega Metagross. King's Shield, on the other hand, helps deal with Shadow Tag users such as Regigigas, Primal Groudon and Mega Mewtwo X.

The given EV Spread allows Yveltal to take +2 Adammant Thousand Arrows from Primal Groudon, V-Create Adammant Primal-Groudon, +2 Secret Sword and Judgment from Mega Gengar,+2 Oblivion Wing from Mega Rayquaza, Choice Band Adammant Dragon Ascent from Mega Rayquaza and more.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Yveltal fits best in bulkier teams acting as a soft check to many Pokemon that could be a threat to the team. Yveltal benefits from Shadow Tag Primal Groudon's pressence in the team
as it can deal with Mold Breaker Xerneas and Zekrom and Wonder Guard users such as Mega Beedrill, Mega Scizor and Skuntank while providing Spikes to deal more passive damage.

Other Options
=============

Glare can be potentially used over Psycho Shift or Will O Wisp to slow down offensive threats, but it doesn't deal passive damage which is one of Yveltal's most important parts.

Knock Off is a great option over Snarl to beat plate Mold Breakers, remove Leftovers from Primal Groudon and such, easening Yveltal's job at the cost of being more Substitute and Quiver Dance Rayquaza weak.

Checks and Counters
===================

Shell Smash Wonder Guards: Shell Smash using Wonder Guards can be a huge threat to Yveltal, either because they can threaten a 2HKO without boosting like Kyurem-White and Xerneas do or because they can avoid being statused via Taunt or their typing like Gyarados and Mega Lucario do respectively

Poison immune Wonder Guards: If using Psycho Shift Yveltal has no way to damage Wonder Guards like Mega Beedrill, Mega Scizor or Skuntank, which will use the free turns to use support moves such as Defog, Aromatherapy or Spikes. This problem doesn't exist with Will-O-Wisp sets, but those are walled by Primal Groudon and Level 2 Mega Sableye, which also beats Psycho Shift sets.

Offensive Fairy Types: Fairy types such as Xerneas, Mega Diancie and Mega Gardevoir can offensively threaten Yveltal while it can't do much other than Psycho Shift as they switch in.

Strong Physical Attackers: Strong Physical Attackers like Huge Power Mega Mewtwo X and Mold Breaker Zekrom force Yveltal out while Mold Breaker Primal Groudon and Choice Band Rayquaza can easily knock it out if it has been worn down.

Shadow Tag: Shadow Tag users can take advantage of the fact that Magic Guard Yveltal cannot use the Shed Shell to easily trap it, specially if it doesn't have King's Shield.

Taunt: Taunt users such as Quiver Dance Rayquaza and Wonder Guard Beedrill greatly limit Yveltal's capabilities as a wall and status spreader while setting up Spikes or boosting

No Guard: No Guard users can easily OHKO Yveltal with Sheer Cold as it doesn't use Wonder Guard
