[OVERVIEW]
Alomomola is a premier Wish passer on Water thanks to its many great qualities. Firstly, its gargantuan HP stat allows it to pass gigantic Wishes. Secondly, its decent physical bulk allows it to take on physical attackers such as Azumarill, Mega Lopunny, and Mega Pinsir, all of which fail to OHKO it. Thirdly, its ability Regenerator further complements its role as a Wish passer and lets it frequently switch in and out of the battle. Moreover, its pure Water typing doesn't add any new weaknesses to your team. It can also take on special attackers by taking advantage of its high HP stat in tandem with Mirror Coat, notably taking a Solar Beam from Mega Charizard Y and OHKOing back. Finally, it has access to an extremely useful move in Knock Off, which only a few Water-types have access to.
Unfortunately, Alomomola's poor Special Attack means that its damage output is pathetic. In addition, while its HP stat is great, its Special Defense is rather dreadful. Its Speed is also rather subpar. Setup sweepers like Substitute + Calm Mind Keldeo and Nasty Plot Thundurus can easily take advantage of Alomomola when it passes Wishes. Alomomola also heavily relies on Scald burns to actually threaten a foe and force it out. Finally, it is shut down by Taunt and is inclined to then switch out or deal poor damage with Scald.

Moves
========
Although it's weak, Scald deals a bit of chip damage to the foe and potentially spreads burns that Alomomola can utilize by taking the opportunity to set up a Wish. Wish allows Alomomola to restore the HP of one of your Pokemon and works well with Protect, which allows Alomomola to regain a bit of Leftovers recovery, scout for the foe's item, stop High Jump Kick users such as Mega Medicham and Mega Lopunny, and receive its own Wish when necessary. Mirror Coat lets Alomomola strike special attackers back with a twice-as-powerful move if it tanks their hit. Knock Off is an alternative to remove items like Eviolite, Leftovers, and Choice items from their holders, as well as deal a bit of chip damage. Toxic is another alternative that can be used to wear down walls; it is also Alomomola's only way of beating said walls.
Set Details
========
The given spread allows Alomomola to survive not only a Solar Beam from Mega Charizard Y but also a Giga Drain from Mega Venusaur, both of them then being OHKOed by Mirror Coat. A Bold nature provides Alomomola with a bit of defensive bulk. Regenerator makes Alomomola a better Wish passer, allowing it to switch in and out many times during the battle; this is further boosted by Leftovers, which provides Alomomola with gradual recovery. Rocky Helmet is an alternative item to punish physical attackers such as Choice Scarf Terrakion and Mega Lopunny by wearing them down.
Usage Tips
========
Alomomola should almost always use Wish to heal a teammate that lacks recovery whenever it's on the field and then switch immediately to them. Spreading burns helps wear down the opposing team and force switches, creating opportunities to pass Wishes. Alomomola's main focus is to tank a hit and then immediately Wish and switch to a teammate. Futhermore, switching Alomomola in and out helps keep its HP as high as possible, though this tends to drain a lot of momentum. Keep Alomomola away from strong special attackers like Thundurus due to its poor Special Defense. Moreover, be wary of status ailments, most importantly Toxic poison, which wears it down a lot. Keep it away from Substitute-using setup sweepers that will use it as setup bait. Alomomola can otherwise switch into attacks pretty safely, use Protect, or just recover up while scouting what the foe does.
Team Options
========
Alomomola fits on stall and balance teams only due to its passiveness. Teammates that are able to use Toxic if it isn't running it are appreciated. Lanturn and Swampert are both good partners due to their Electric immunity. Lanturn also has Heal Bell to rid Alomomola of status and has a slow Volt Switch to safely bring it in. Swampert has Stealth Rock to wear down the foe. Tentacruel is able to take on Grass-types thanks to its Poison typing, provides Rapid Spin support to stop Alomomola from being worn down, and has Toxic Spikes to slowly wear down the foe. Sap Sipper Azumarill is a good partner that switches into the Grass-types Alomomola hates. It is also a counter to Mega Charizard Y, allowing Alomomola to run a utility move other than Mirror Coat. Empoleon provides Stealth Rock and Defog support and often runs specially defensive spreads, meaning it can switch into special attacks for Alomomola, and it also appreciates Wish. Slowbro walls Mega Medicham, which threatens Alomomola.
Many Pokemon pair well with Alomomola due to its ability to pass Wishes. Rotom-W spreads burns with Will-O-Wisp and can use Volt Switch to slowly bring Alomomola in. Starmie can remove hazards with Rapid Spin, while Quagsire can counter setup sweepers with Unaware. Azumarill, Keldeo, Mega Sharpedo, Manaphy, Volcanion, and Mega Gyarados all appreciate the HP restoration granted by Wish. Manaphy also works as a good stallbreaker with Rain Dance + Toxic if Alomomola doesn't run Toxic.

Other Options
=============
Alomomola doesn't really have any notable options due to being a fairly one-sided and bland Pokemon, and it cannot carry out any role apart from a Wish passer.
Checks and Counters
===================
**Toxic Poison**: Toxic poison is the most notable method of wearing down Alomomola, as the accumulating damage necessitates its switching out and this can often give the opponent a free turn to switch to a threat or set up.
**Residual Damage**: Burns and entry hazards hamper the HP recovery from Regenerator, wearing down Alomomola and forcing it to switch out to regain health, disrupting a lot of momentum.
**Setup Sweepers**: Special setup sweepers such as Thundurus, Serperior, and Substitute + Calm Mind Raikou can easily take advantage of Alomomola's passiveness, set up, and sweep its team. They also hit it on its subpar Special Defense stat. Physical setup sweepers such as Bisharp must be wary of potential Scald burns but are threatening nonetheless.
**Electric-types**: Magnezone, Raikou, Thundurus, Zapdos, and Mega Ampharos all OHKO Alomomola with their STAB moves, while Rotom-W can use Volt Switch to pivot out. Rotom-W can also burn Alomomola with Will-O-Wisp.
**Grass-types**: Alomomola does pathetic damage to Grass-types, while they can easily 2HKO it with their STAB moves. For example, Mega Venusaur 2HKOes Alomomola with Giga Drain. Breloom can put Alomomola to sleep, set up, and sweep its team. Serperior can also set up with Contrary Leaf Storm. Finally, Whimsicott can lock Alomomola into Wish or Protect with its Prankster Encore and then use Giga Drain to steal its HP.
**Taunt**: Mandibuzz, Sableye, Mew, and Froslass are all faster than Alomomola and can immediately Taunt it, preventing it from using Wish or Protect. Mandibuzz can simply phaze Alomomola, Sableye can cripple it with Will-O-Wisp, Mew's Synchronize will burn Alomomola if it is burned, and Froslass can proceed to use Alomomola as entry hazard fodder, though it hates taking Knock Off.
**Substitute**: Alomomola can do absolutely nothing to Pokemon behind a Substitute such as Hoopa-U and Mega Gardevoir. Special attackers behind Substitute won't have to worry about Mirror Coat hitting them back.
