Shellos [Sluggy Slug] (F)

Like Mowtom himself, Sluggy Slug comes from Sinnoh, but from the opposite side of Mount Coronet. She prefers to stay relaxed and cheerful, even when taking repeated hits, but cannot stand it when someone mistakes her for a West Sea Shellos. Apparently the two groups have a long-seated rivalry. Who knew?

Types: Water
  • Water STAB; Ignores arena restrictions on Water attacks that require an external water source. Evasive Diving reduced from 6 per action Energy Cost to 5 per action.
Abilities:
Sticky Hold / Storm Drain / Sand Force (Unlocked)
  • This Pokemon's body is covered in a sticky substance that prevents item theft or swapping.
  • This Pokemon lures all water attacks to itself, altering their course away from partner Pokemon. It absorbs the water and increases its Special Attack by one (1) stage. A boost gained this way by an opponent's attack will be maintained at the end of each round.

Here we are back in the ASB Arena, folks! Both trainers look ready for battle, albeit Mowtom looks a lot more confident, but namemaker can still pull this off! Let's begin!

Melvin starts it off with a spark as he delivers a mighty Thunder Punch boosted by his Iron Fist ability that sends Sluggy Slug rearing back in pain! Even worse for Mowtom, Sluggy Slug seems to have trouble moving! She's paralyzed! However, she is able to move just enough to send a wave of Scalding water that blasts Melvin dead-on, and Melvin is left clutching his burned arm in pain! It looks like both players got lucky with status, but in my opinion, namemaker got the short stick! Tough luck indeed!

Even though the burn is slowly sapping his health, Melvin is undeterred, and charges straight up to Sluggy Slug with a Drain Punch, dealing a moderate amount of damage while healing off the damage from the burn and more! In retaliation, Sluggy Slug stirs up a gigantic wave from the small pool and drenches Melvin in the Surf, dealing a large amount of damage, and the burn isn't helping at all!

Finally, Melvin erects a Protective barrier to shield himself from the Shellos' next attack, but just as Sluggy Slug was about to move, she stopped! It looks like she's fully paralyzed! As the first round ends, Mowtom has a very noticeable advantage, but a comeback from namemaker is always possible! Stranger things happen everyday in ASB!

namemaker , turns out I messed up a while back. I accidentally calced the Drain Punch used in the first round as if Golett was a Fighting-type, which leads to it having 1 less HP/EN and Shellos having 3 more HP. I highly doubt this changes your orders, but you have a right to re-order if you want to (Mowtom was told this already on IRC and didn't change his actions)

Also, sorry namemaker, but combos have negative priority most of the time: Drain Punch + Thunder Punch, a combo of two moves with 0 priority, actually puts the combo at -2 priority.

As the wave clears up, everyone can see that Melvin is no longer able to batle! Mowtom is the winner!
