Hello! This is my first time using this website and actually attempting to make a competitive team. My normal battle teams aim to destroy the opponent and use very little (if any!) strategy. When a friendly area tournament was announced (no item clause and in fourth gen) I decided it was time to take a shot at a competitive team! My team is, as I mentioned before, my first. If you have any advice I would GREATLY appreciate it! MuddyWater comes from the idea of both rain dance and sandstorm on one team (Some of you may already disagree with the idea). Here's how I plan for it to go...
lead - Bronzong (Relaxed nature: 252 hp/84 atk./8 def./ 96 spe.)
item - light clay ability - ?
1. reflect
2. light screen
3. rain dance
4. explosion
Two large concerns on this. should EVs be going to a nature hindered already low speed, and do common leads have taunt? A taunt would send this bronzong into an all out attack mode lasting one turn... is it worth it to replace rain dance with earthquake/gyro ball? (first, look at the next pokemon!)
explosion into Kingdra (Adamant: 180 hp/250 atk./ 76 spe.)
item - leftovers ability - swift swim
1. rain dance (or some alternative if you all believe that bronzong will work)
2. dragon dance
3. waterfall
4. outrage
This is the double dance kingdra, but perhaps with one modification, access to another physical move. But first I need to know some opinions on the bronzong!
faint into offensive nasty plot togekiss
I haven't the stats nor the moves for this pokemon written down simply because I am not sure if it is the best choice in this team. I like the air cutter+serene grace combo, along with overall attacking aspects of it. however, a scizor may make a good lead in for the second part of the team, or maybe go straight into the next pokemon, which will be another lead in.
? into Gliscor (timid: 252 hp/ 196 spD/ 60 spe.)
Item - ? ability - hyper cutter
1. Taunt
2. Swords Dance
3. Rock Polish
4. Baton Pass
The purpose of this is simple, send stats on to create a sweeper!
Baton pass into Tyranitar or Metagross.

Here is yet another crossroad of this team. If I can get a single rock polish and swords dance off, either one of these pokemon can become options. MY first thought was an Agility metagross coming in not only with a speed boost, but also an attack boost, not only taking one move off of his original set (agility... duh), but also allowing for a very diverse moveset (Meteor Mash, Earthquake, Thunder Punch, and Zen Headbutt). But it would also make a pretty good lead into the Dragon Dance Tyranitar, once again removing the requirement of another move slot, opening it up for a still very diverse moveset. The final pokemon on this team would be one of these two, meaning it would have to be a sweeper... Thanks for taking the time to read the ramblings of a beginner and please be so kind as to help!
