CAP Co-Leader
[OVERVIEW]
Naviathan is one of the best sweepers on dual screens teams, as screens drastically reduce the amount of damage it takes during its setup. Guts and strong coverage options like Icicle Crash allow Naviathan to run a powerful Dragon Dance set that tears through most of the metagame. Additionally, its Speed tier allows it to outspeed common Choice Scarf users like Tapu Lele and Volkraken after a Dragon Dance boost, and its good physical bulk allows it to tackle Choice Scarf Kitsunoh pretty reliably. Naviathan notably acts as a Fairy-type answer and sets up on non-Low Kick Mega Crucibelle, which is important for these teams. However, the combination of neutral attacks and burn damage from Flame Orb wear it down rather quickly, meaning it is KOed easily. This means it cannot switch into attacks very easily and requires good opportunities to switch in to set up properly. Additionally, Naviathan competes with Magearna, which has significantly better special bulk, also resists Fairy-type moves, and can snowball with Soul-Heart.

Moves
========
Facade ensures that Naviathan isn't walled by Water-types. After a Dragon Dance boost, it OHKOes Greninja, Volkraken, Slowking, and Gastrodon and 2HKOes Toxapex, Snaelstrom, and Krilowatt. With some prior chip damage, it can even 2HKO Arghonaut. Icicle Crash rounds off Naviathan's coverage, OHKOing Jumbao and Landorus-T and 2HKOing Ferrothorn after some prior chip damage.
Set Details
========
A Jolly nature allows Naviathan to outspeed Tapu Lele, Volkraken, Aurumoth, Landorus-T, and Jumbao and Speed tie with Smokomodo. Because most of these Pokemon commonly Choice Scarf or boost their Speed, Naviathan can safely outspeed them after a boost as well. However, an Adamant nature can be run for a greater chance to 2HKO mixed defensive Arghonaut while still outspeeding Timid Mega Alakazam at +1.
Usage Tips
========
Naviathan performs best after the opposing team has been weakened so that it can clean up with its rather immediate power. Not setting up until Ferrothorn and Pyroak are weakened is ideal, as Naviathan needs a bit of chip damage to break through them. If Ferrothorn uses Protect, use Dragon Dance on that turn. Because Naviathan is extremely vulnerable to chip damage, avoid switching into Spikes or a neutral attack or setting up against a healthy Leech Seed user. Facade should be used against neutral targets, as it's stronger than Waterfall. However, if Facade doesn't net a KO, using Waterfall or Icicle Crash to fish for a flinch can turn games back into Naviathan's favor.
Team Options
========
Light Screen + Reflect Tapu Koko allows Naviathan to set up much more easily, allowing it to gain more than one Dragon Dance if played carefully and reach its maximum potential. Bulky Double Dance Aurumoth complements Naviathan well, switching into the Ground- and Fighting-types that prevent Naviathan from setting up. In return, Naviathan can switch into Pokemon like Mega Crucibelle and non-Focus Blast Tornadus-T and use them as setup bait. Stealth Rock users like Landorus-T and Tomohawk and Spikes users like Greninja help wear down the opposing team faster, letting Naviathan net more KOs more easily. Magnezone can trap and remove Ferrothorn and Celesteela altogether. Pajantom can also trap Tomohawk, Pyroak, and Zapdos with Spirit Shackle and remove them with Toxic or a Z-Move. Icium Z Kyurem-B removes bulky foes like Ferrothorn and Pyroak on the switch, making them ineffective switch-ins for a boosting Naviathan later in the match. Hawlucha is an excellent late-game cleaner for screens teams in case Naviathan or Aurumoth's sweep ends early.

Other Options
=============
Thunder Punch can be run for a greater chance to break past Arghonaut and to hit Celesteela harder, but it's hard to find a moveslot for it. Naviathan can run a stallbreaking set with Calm Mind, Taunt, and Slack Off, but one-move coverage and low speed make it struggle offensively, and the ubiquity of Cyclohm on stall teams makes it hard for Naviathan to break these teams anyway.
Checks and Counters
===================
**Bulky Grass-types**: Ferrothorn and Pyroak are good answers to Naviathan, as the former can wear it down with Iron Barbs and Leech Seed, while the latter can chip it with Earth Power or Roar it out.
**Fighting-types**: Arghonaut ignores Naviathan's boosts and can phaze it, but Guts-boosted Facade wears Arghonaut down fast. Tomohawk can Haze away Naviathan's boosts and stall it out, chipping it down with Rocky Helmet. While offensive variants can also remove Naviathan's boosts, Naviathan can 2HKO them back with an unboosted Facade. Hawlucha can outspeed Naviathan and nail it with High Jump Kick. Revenankh in particular uses Triage Drain Punch to outspeed even boosted Naviathan.
**Electric-types**: Zapdos and Cyclohm threaten Naviathan with Discharge and can tank an Icicle Crash in a pinch. Krilowatt outspeeds and OHKOes Naviathan before it sets up and can tank a +1 Facade if extremely healthy. Tapu Koko can only check Naviathan before it sets up. A healthy Magnezone can take a +1 Waterfall and OHKO back. Magnet Caribolt 2HKOes Naviathan with Quick Attack and can nearly OHKO it in the Electric Terrain that an opposing Tapu Koko sets up.
**Ground-types**: While Landorus-T, Smokomodo, and Fidgit have to watch out for Icicle Crash and Waterfall, their STAB moves can OHKO Naviathan before it sets up.
**Offensive Pressure**: The easiest way to prevent Naviathan from setting up is to deny it free setup opportunities. Choice Band Syclant, Greninja, Low Kick Mega Crucibelle, Mega Diancie, and Fightinium Z Tornadus-T are some examples of Pokemon that wear down Naviathan too much to survive a few turns of burn damage.
