Not sure if it was quite 2009, but Fantasy Black Channel by Late of the Pier is the best album I have ever heard.

the incident is pt's worst so far. another misstep into faux-emotional boredom. silly, silly roy.
 
oh wow. i completely overlooked merriweather post pavillion when i first listened to it. decided to give it another try with my proper headphones and right now, sitting in the dark, i could just get completely lost in this album. the slow drones and wisps of sounds are suddenly a whole lot more profound, and i can't really believe i was so indifferent before.

just..wow.

edit: the further in i get the more amazed i am i didn't fall in love with this before. i feel like going skipping in a field.

the incident isn't bad by any means. it is no absentia, of course, but i think it's a solid album.

I'm not a huge fan of hip-hop by any means, but Kid Cudi's album Man on the Moon: The End of Day was great. It really speaks to me. Not bad for a debut album. I'm looking forward to see him produce more.
