OU Team in need of Aid

Okay, Hi ladies and gents of Smogon. I'm sort of new to this forum (although I frequent the sight...well frequently), and while looking around, stumbled upon the RMT, and thought, why not get some advice and criticism from others? So here I am, looking for your help on this team I'm currently testing. :3

Salamence (M) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 6 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Draco Meteor
- Flamethrower
- Hydro Pump
- Protect
I lead (most of the time) with my Specsmence, as I get a free intimidate in, and it can usually take some damage before it needs to be switched out. He's also my EQ counter, being the only flying pokemon on my team. I have protect there because I had no idea what to use for a 4th attack, which is stupid considering its a Specsmence.
---
Tangrowth (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Chlorophyll
EVs: 252 HP/228 Def/28 Spd
Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Sleep Powder
- Knock Off
- Leech Seed
- Power Whip
Next up to bat would be Tangrowth, who serves as my sleep inducer and physical tank. Knock off is there for support, and I have Power Whip for dealing damage. Also has Heatran support, to cover all weaknesses (At least to my limited knowledge.)
---
Scizor (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Technician
EVs: 176 HP/100 Atk/56 Spd/176 SDef
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Bullet Punch
- U-turn
- Pursuit
- Roost
I used to have a Gyarados here, rather than Scizor but I found that lacking a pokemon with a priority move was a big disadvantage for me, especially against those focus band, salac berry, reversal and flail lovers. Not sure if it was the right decision to make, because Gyarados used to attract thunderbolts for my Electivire to take. :[
---
Electivire (M) @ Expert Belt
Ability: Motor Drive
EVs: 6 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Cross Chop
- Thunderpunch
- Ice Punch
The Physical Sweeper Super Effective build, taken straight from Smogon (along with every other one on my team >.<) whom can attack anything neutrally, and works well as a late game sweeper.
---
Gallade (M) @ Choice Band
Ability: Steadfast
EVs: 64 HP/252 Atk/192 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Close Combat
- Night Slash
- Psycho Cut
- Ice Punch
Gallade is yet another Physical Sweeper, which I feel I may have too many. Like Electivire, he serves as a good late game sweeper, and Close Combat can deal a lot of damage, even if against those who resist it due to the Choice Band.
---
Heatran (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 20 HP/236 Spd/252 SAtk
Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Fire Blast
- Earth Power
- Dragon Pulse
- Flash Cannon
I added Heatran to the team not only to support my Tangrowth by absorbing fire attacks, but also because I was lacking in the Special Attack Department. A natural Earthquake magnet, Heatran allows me to switch my Specsmence back it without consequence (in most cases.)
---

Well this team has been doing quite well for me, but even my unexperienced eyes can see that it could use a LOT of improvement. So...I thank you all for your help in advance. ;D
(really with I could get pictures up, but sleep is calling me)

Dragon Pulse > Protect since it gives you another STAB obtion that you can use without lowering your Special Attack.

Heatran seems like you're revenge killer so I recommend Hidden Power Ice > Dragon Pulse because it gives you more coverage and all the other dragons die faster to Hidden Power Ice anyway. (except Kingdra but you shouldn't have a Heatran in against a Kingdra). Remove Flash Cannon for Explosion since it gives you a stronger attack against Blissey.

Other than that, you should have more of a strategy for your team. Otherthan just putting together a team of Pokemon that are OU and you think are cool but have no real strategy. Heatran and Tangrowth is a bit of a combo but thats about it.

If you are that lost at what other move to use, try sleep talk, at least it will give you a sleep absorber. And protect is absolutely terrible on a choiced pokemon.

For salamence run this set:
Salamence @ CHoice Specs
Modest Nature
252 SpAtk 252Spe 6 HP
- Fire Blast
- Hidden Power [GROUND]
- Draco Meteor
- Dragon Pulse
You'll hit 71.--% of the metagame with this set and yayayay.

Don't use it as a lead though, replace this Scizor if you have to and make sure scizor has U-Turn so it can get the hell out of there.

Electvire sucks and you don't have anything drawing in Electric attacks, So you can put in maybe a set up sweeper such as Gyarados.

THEN you have an electric draw but nothing to take it. Luckily Gliscor does Tangrowths job but better and can stop Heracross and Ice Punch less Cario's.

;D Sorry for the very slap dash rate I gotta peace to school.

Even with STAB, Flash Cannon is a terrible attack on Heatran. The only advantage Flash Cannon got over Fire Blast is its PP and its ability to hit every Dragon but Kingdra for neutral damage. If you worry about Fire Blasts PP, you'd rather use Flamethrower, and really, Hidden Power Ice or even Dragon Pulse is a far superior move to use against Dragon types. That leaves you with a utterly useless move. Althrough I'd normally go with Explosion on Heatran for Blissey, Hidden Power Electric seem to be an interesting option to hit Gyarados and general bulky waters who tend to switch in. Seeing how Tangrowth, your primarily switch on Gyarados, lacks any form of recovery, having a back up plan is not such a bad idea, and might get some more use than Explosion, as you already got 3 Pokémon who deals with Blissey.

Though, it's your lack of a decent resist to physical Rock moves that worries me the most. Tyranitar seems to walk all over you, and there's no way Gallade can take multiple Stone Edges with its low base Defence. I'd simply swap Gallade for Machamp, who'd resist both of Tyranitars STAB moves.

Heh, I find your Electivire somewhat.. random. I mean, it doesn't really have any Electric weakness to take advantage off as nothing here really attracts Electric moves. I'd say get rid of it. Here's just a thought, but a good old Curse ResTalk Waterfall Swampert seems to function well in your team. On the defensive side, it deals with HP Grass-less Zapdos' (who is uncommon accoring to DjD's stats!). Heat Wave Zapdos is a big issue to your team, as only Heatran resist Heat Wave, but isn't really a good switch in without Leftovers and ResTalk as Thunder Wave and Thunderbolt hurts badly. Swampert, however, doesn't really care, and beats Toxic variants too, thought, you'll have to make sure it doesn't have HP Grass. Not only that, but Scizor and Heatran already deals with Celebi, while Tangrowth deals with Gyarados, making Swampert a really potent lategame cleaner.

Haha, thanks for the replies you guys.

@acinod-I'll try the Heatran you gave me, but what are you meaning by strategy? Do you mean to follow a certain theme, or something less specific like a stall or baton pass team? Sorry for the stupidity but would you care to elaborate? I wasn't just choosing OU pokemon I liked, it was just what seemed to fit at the time...except the Electivire..now.

@Gen.Empoleon-Thanks, I'll try hidden power ground, but I think I'll keep Hydro Pump instead of Dragon Pulse. IMO (which is probably wrong) because I'm using Specs I find having Pulse to be pretty useless until late game when I may need a steady STAB move. I did have a Gyarados that was suppose to draw in electric for my Electivire, but replaced it with Scizor, and Electivire was my pokemon that was suppose to "take" the electrical attacks.

@Rag-Yeah, I changed the Heatran. I did decide to go with Explosion, because it can certainly have more than one use than on Blissey. To my experiences so far (which is quite limited mind you,) Gallade can take at least 2 STAB Stone Edges, and can usually kill the opposing pokemon before that. My Electivire is pretty random, because Gyarados DID use to draw in electric attacks for Motor Drive, but was replaced due to a larger issue. I'll give your suggestion about Swampert a try.

Also, the reason I'm a little reluctant to switch some of the pokemon is that I already have Salamence, Electivire, Gallade, and Tangrowth EV trained. However since it's blatantly obvious Electivire is a burden on my team, I guess I'll get rid of it >.<

If Gen suggested those Specsmence moves, there should be a reason, don't you think? HP Ground hits everything that Hydro Pump does, but better. You get perfect coverage with Dragon, Fire and Ground, so why not have a STAB that can actually sweep in Dragon Pulse?
