Hey guys my name is Pkftmfw on youtube, and some people know me as Laurel. This team has peaked at 1520 so far, but I know it has the potential to do better. Any criticism is welcome, and thanks for the help in advance!
(Edit: This teams new highest peak is at 1611.46, #4 on the ladder)

When first looking at my team you may notice a few things key to offensive teams:
- My whole team is resistant to Toxic Spikes
- Only 1 Poke is weak to Stealth Rocks
- Only 3 Pokes are damaged by Spikes

All changes are in RED:

The Lead!
376_metagross_2_m.png

Crusader (Metagross) @ Occa Berry
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 252 HP/236 Atk/12 Def/8 Spe
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
- Explosion
- Bullet Punch

Metagross is a fantastic lead. It does fine against all common leads besides Heatran and Infernape. His goal is to set up Stealth Rock and then explode on a wall that can trouble my team such as Blissey.

My strategies against the most common leads:

Metagross Vs Azelf: First I use stealth rock if he taunts I explode.
Metagross Vs Heatran: Switch in Flygon and then u-turn
Metagross Vs Metagross: Stealth rock, if my opponent uses earthquake the first turn I switch in Rotom-W.
Metagross Vs Jirachi: I always use Earthquake. If he tricksI switch in Rotom-W assuming he'll switch in Swampert or Rotom.
Metagross Vs Aerodactyl: Bullet punch twice = GG. Set up stealth rock once he goes down then explode.
Metagross Vs Swampert: Stealth rock first turn. Then explode if he used earthquake the first turn, and hope my opponent is not going to use protect.

Mid-Game Destroyer
373_salamence_1_f.png

Destroyer (Salamence) (M) @ Lum Berry
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk/252 Spe/4 Hp
Jolly nature (+Spe, -SpA)
- Dragon Dance
- Earthquake
- Outrage
- Roost

Dragon Dance Salamence is an absolute monster! If I manage to come in with no stealth rocks up at the beginning of the game and get atleast one Dragon Dance I can usually get a huge lead, unless the opponent has Skarmory or Bronzong with Levitate. At first I ran Fire Fang to do damage against Skarmory and Celebi, but Roost is better as it allows Mence to stay alive longer.

Revenge Killers
330_flygon_1_f.png

Spy (Flygon) (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Outrage
- U-turn
- Thunder Punch

Flygon is my trusty revenge killer. It beats Dragon Dance Salamence 90% of the time. It is also my Scarf Jirachi counter and my opposing Flygon counter. Sadly all three have 100 base speed so I can't be assured a win on any of these. I usually bring Flygon in right off the bat after Metagross explodes to help me scout the opponents team. I'll then U-turn into the appropriate counter. Thunder Punch is for Gyarados and Skarmory.

washback.png

Lightning (Rotom-W) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP/252 Spe/252 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spe, -Atk)
- Thunderbolt
- Trick
- Shadow Ball
- Hidden Power [Fighting]

The main reason Rotom-W has a spot on this team is to be spin block against stall and for its great resistances. I need him for stall to beat Blissey and Suicune so Empoleon can sweep. Trick is essential as it cripples Blissey, but I only do it when I am positive it is coming on, or Suicune. HP Fighting is for TTar so I can 2 hit it with SR up if I predict it coming in. The main problem with Rotom as everyone knows though is that it is huge bait for TTar, so I am considering running wow over HP Fighting, but I'm not sure.

Gluueee
212_scizor_1_m.png

Warrior (Scizor) (M) @ Choice Band
Ability: Technician
EVs: 248 HP/248 Atk/12 Spe
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Bullet Punch
- Superpower
- U-Turn
- Pursuit

Choice Band Scizor is essential for this team to function. He helps me scout for Zapdos, Gyara, and Rotom-W which can all ruin Empoleon's sweep. With these three dead he can usually sweep on his own, as long as the opponent doesn't have a pokemon resistant to bullet punch.

Late Game Sweeper
395_empoleon_1_f.png

Lt Penguin (Empoleon) (M) @ Petaya Berry
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 12 HP/12 Def/232 Spe/252 SAtk
Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Agility
- Substitute
- Surf
- Ice Beam

Empoleon is the teams main sweeper. He can reck through almost all Bulky Offensive and Stall teams when Suicune and Blissey are dead. Through out the game I try and eliminate all its threats to set up a sweep.

Alphabetically Based Threat List
(Still Incomplete)

Black is fine.
Orange can be problematic.
Red is dangerous, I really have to play my best to handle it.

dpiconani142.gif
Aerodactyl
  • Lead: Bullet Punch twice.
dpiconani482.gif
Azelf

  • Lead: Easy Gross can Bullet Punch and then Scizor can bullet punch and it's dead. Rotom-W handles it fine.
  • Dual Screens: Always used as a lead. Mence Explodes before it gets Light Screen up and then I bring in Rotom-W and just try and stop him from setting up before Reflect is down.
  • Nasty Plot: Bullet Punch from Gross and then Scizor, just like the SR Lead
  • Choice: Once again the duel Bullet Punches kills this.
dpiconani242.gif
Blissey

  • Wish/Aromatherapy: Really isn't too bad. I can come in with Scizor and Set Up as long as it doesn't pack Flamethrower, or Gross can Explode. Wish is much worse then Arometherapy if it packs TWave it can hurt my team. It could easily beat Scizor with Twave and SToss. If it has flame thrower I'm ******. Mence Outrage can take if +1 and Rocks are up with some damage from previous hits.
  • Calm Mind: This would seem problemic however it's not common in OU. I would have to use Super Power with Scizor and if it doesn't die I'll be forced to explode with Gross.
  • Charm: I've never even seen a Charm Blissey... I can just Explode with Gross cause no gender.
dpiconani286.gif
Breloom

  • Subpunch: I HATE BRELOOM! I usually chose for it to sleep Scizor and then I'll bring in Mence and Fire Fang. If he has rocks up Mence will be almost dead and Scizor is then crippled.
  • Attacker: With Stone Edge I'm done. I'll have to get in two Mence Intimidates with proper Seed Bomb predictions. Then hopefully I can take it out with Rotom-W or Gross
  • Choice Scarf: I predict around Scarf. If it's a lead I'll switch to scizor to take the spore and then switch in Mence. Which can Hopefully get a DD and damage him.
dpiconani437.gif
Bronzong

  • Wall: Rotom-W walls it and can trick it. Mence Fire Fang can hurt it. If I notice it's the Heat ability thing. I'll kill it with EQ.
  • Dual Screens: I have to bring in Rotom and Trick it. So the 2nd screen only lasts 5 turns. This also helps me avoid it's explosion.
  • Trick Room: Rotom-W handles it fine. I'll just trick the switch in.
  • Rain Dance: My initial switch is Rotom. I'll Thunderbolt twice and then predict around the Rain. Most Rain abusers have Life Orb so I'll use that to my advantage and then Take them out with Bullet Punch.
dpiconani251.gif
Celebi

  • Defensive: I bring in Flygon and U-Turn then Rotom-W finishes it with Shadow Ball.
  • Tinkerbell: Same as Defensive it's not going to TWave a Flygon.
dpiconani488.gif
Cresselia

  • Defensive: Scizor does fine with SD and bug bite. If they have Reflect I'll have to bring in Rotom-W if it somehow kills Scizor.
  • Calm Mind: Scizor is my only reliable counter. However, Rotom-W Tricks it while it CMs or Psychics and then I bring in Scizor and Set up. Gross can Explode.
  • Lunar Dance: I don't see this much but I'll have to bring in Gross or Rotom-W. From there I'll either Trick it or Explode before it can do too much setting up.
dpiconani149.gif
Dragonite
  • Mixnite: This can hurt me a bit. I'll bring in Gross and BP. Then I'll need to hope it packs Flamethrower so it won't kill Gross and the 2nd BP can kill. If it has Flame Thrower I'll need to come in and BP it with Scizor for the kill.
  • Dragon Dance: Much Less of a problem, Gross can explode in its face.
  • Anti-lead: Gross uses SR and then Explodes.
dpiconani051.gif
Dugtrio

  • Revenge Killer: Can't realiably revenge kill anything on my team, bar Empoleon if it doesn't have Agility. Scizor kills (I think) if SR is up.
dpiconani477.gif
Dusknoir

  • Tank: I hate this thing. I'll have to bring in Rotom and Shadow Ball it. Then kill it with Scizor BP. If BP doesn't kill he can cripple me with WoW. If he packs Shadow Sneak and has some Attack EVs Rotom could die. Mence could work too if it has some damage on it already. Lum Berry off the WoW and Outrage KO.
  • Trick Room: Just like Zong I bring in Rotom and Trick the Switch in.
dpiconani466.gif
Electivire

  • Attacker: Flygon EQ is OHKO with SR I'm fairly sure. Scizor BP will do a chunk also.
dpiconani395.gif
Empoleon
  • Subpetaya: I'll have to bring in my Empy :( Then check if it's got Ice Beam or Grass Knot. Wear it down with GK and then hopefully it has less then 15% hp and I can kill it with Scizor BP. If it's GK I'll just bring Mence in.
  • Life Orb: I'll have to do the same as Sub Petaya this time I'll have it's Life Orb to my advantage. My Empy and his Empy will have a fight to the death. Then I'll either Super Power or Bullet Punch depending on if it's HP is less then 15%
  • Lead: Beats Gross always. My EQ can't kill it and his Hydro is a 2HKO. I'll probably switch into Mence and then into Scizor where I will use Super Power and then BP it.
  • Swords Dance: Rotom deals with this.
dpiconani330.gif
Flygon

  • Choice Scarf: Hopefully it's not Jolly and wins the speed tie. I'll kill him with my own Flygon. Scizor BP also Kills with an SD.
  • Choice Band: Flygon Kills it. Scizor BP also kills with an SD.
  • Life Orb: Just like Choice Band.
dpiconani205.gif
Forretress

  • Spiker: Mence sets up. Thunderbolt from Rotom does like 1/3 Rotom can burn it.
dpiconani094.gif
Gengar

  • Life Orb: Scizor BP. Also Rotom-W and Flygon.
  • Substitute: This is usually GG. I'll bring in Gross if hes not dead and BP hopefully he doesn't have HP Fire. Then Scizor BP can kill it.
  • Choice Scarf: Scizor Bullet Punch.
dpiconani472.gif
Gliscor

  • Defensive: My team has a tough time with Gliscor, I try and avoid bringing in Empoleon... I'll probably bring in Rotom-W and trick it. Then proceed with Shadow Ball.
  • Swords Dance: Not as bad, I'll trick it as it uses Stone Edge. Then I'll bring in Empy :( and Surf. Inless the counters are dead.
  • Baton Pass: I have to trick it with Rotom. Hopefully it doesnt have a Sub.
dpiconani130.gif
Gyarados

  • Dragon Dance: Flygon one hits it with Thunder Punch with SR up.
  • Resttalk: Bigger problem I'll probably explode on it with Mence. Seeing as Thunder Punch won't do as much because it'll have defense EVs. Rotom-W can take it. But it'll then be revenge killes by TTar or Scizor most likely.
  • BulkyGyara: Rotom beats it. Then I hope he doesnt have TTar.
dpiconani485.gif
Heatran

  • Choice Scarf: Flygon can beat it. If he predicts my scarf then he can set up with some flyer/levitater. If that poke is Mence it'll do some damage.
[*]Lead: I bring in Mence and EQ. Hopefully it's not running Shuca so it can one hit. Hopefully, he used Fire Blast the first turn so he doesn't have SR up.

[*]Subtran: This version is a problem. I'll probably bring in Rotom and Thunderbolt and hope I end up with his Sub dead. Then I'll bring in Flygon and EQ.

[*]Torment Tran: The biggest thread witnessed to this team. Nothing can reliably kill it inless Rotom has tricked its Scarf. I'll have to bring in Mence and EQ the first turn. Then Outrage. Mence will then be dead so I'll have to kill it with Flygon. Praying his sub is dead.

[*]Life Orb: Switch in Mence or Flygon on the Fire Blast and then EQ.

  • Stockpile: ^
dpiconani392.gif
Infernape

  • Mixed attacker: I bring in Flygon, then EQ.
  • Lead: I switch in Rotom hoping he uses Fake Out. Then TBolt is a 2hit. Hopefully his Fire Blast misses. On one of the FB's I can bring in Flygon and then EQ.
  • Swords Dance: Flygon EQ.
dpiconani385.gif
Jirachi

  • Lead: I EQ always.

dpiconani380.gif
Latias

  • Calm Mind: Scizor says Sup, Gross Explosion.
  • Choice Specs: Flygon can revenge kill. My primary switch is Gross.
  • Choice Scarf: I switch in Gross and I explode hopefully he used Surf or something so he doesn't switch out.
  • Life Orb: Same as CM.
  • Support: ^
dpiconani448.gif
Lucario

  • Swords Dance: Rotom is my only Lucario check. I come in on a CC or SD and Thunderbolt. If he has crunch I'll bring in Scizor and BP.
  • Choice Specs: ^
  • Lead: I don't think I've ever seen a Luc lead :/ But Gross handles it fine.
dpiconani068.gif
Machamp
  • Resttalk: I hate machamp I'll have to trick it with Rotom.
  • Bulk Up: ^ Rotom can usually beat this inless it has Payback.
  • Subchamp: ^
  • Choice: It'll almost always use CC or DPunch, so Rotom is the sure fire switch in.
dpiconani462.gif
Magnezone

  • Choice Scarf: Flygon.

Metagross

  • Choice Band: Predictions
  • Agility: Can be a problem I'll probably Trick it with Rotom and then bring in something that resists it. Flygon works too.
  • Lead: They usually have an Oran Berry. I EQ it then set up SR if I'm faster or he SR'd the first turn.
  • Mixed: Flygon.
  • Dual Screens: Never seen this, but I'll just use EQ with Gross or Trick it with Rotom.
dpiconani291.gif
Ninjask

  • Lead: I always use BP first. Then I'll use SR assuming he protects. After, I'll explode then kill it with Scizor. After that Baton Pass will have a hard time beating me.

First, I can't see your Metagross image =(

Shuca Berry? Why? Metagross can survive every Earthquake known to man except perhaps a Choice Band one. Try either Occa or Lum Berry.
You might want the Lum Berry as you have no status absorber (meaning, sleep, and burn). Also, Earthquake is useless without Occa Berry as most Fire types will attack thinking you don't have it, so if you plan on killing them you need to survive their attacks first.

A mistake you made on Salamence is that all your attacks are physical, but you have a Hasty nature and 24 SpA EVs. Those EVs are supposed to let you kill off your enemies Celebi, Skarmory, and Bronzong with Fire Blast. Use Fire Blast over Fire Fang, the extra accuracy isn't worth the power let down. Also, use a Naive nature over Hasty as most of the attacks you resist are special, and Intimidate softens physical attacks anyway.

Everything else looks fine, and if the team got you to 1520 then it seems like it is successful. But I did notice that a good player who has prediction skills and good switches can outplay you and quickly wear you down since you have two Pokemon with Life Orb that lack recovery, one SR weak sweeper and no Rapid Spin or Wish, and some weaknesses to stall. I'm not sure what to suggest if your team has been successful though.

Nice team overall, glad to see a different setup than most teams have.

This is an interesting team but I feel like there are ways that the team can better support Empoleon. First off I think that you should try using an Occa Berry in place of a Shuca Berry on Metagross. Shuca Berry is useful but Metagross has very high HP and defense stats. So high in fact that it is really only KOed by Pokemon such as Mamoswine (using Earthquake of course). However, running Occa Berry would be much more benificial as it would allow you to easily beat Infernape and non-Shuca Berry Heatran leads, as well as generally helping you more against Fire-type attacks. Many common Pokemon like mixed Salamence carry Fire-type attacks, and they can all dent Metagross big time. When using Metagross the main concern will generally be survivability, as a well-placed Explosion in the later stages of the game can be a HUGE asset to stopping bulky stat-up sweepers like Suicune from setting up on and sweeping this team. Generally you will want to save Metagross for later in the match.

Now I think that you should consider using Roost in place of Fire Fang on Salamence. The reason is that Salamence will generally be dying relatively early in the match thanks to its Stealth Rock weakness and problems with priority attacks. Roost could help you fix that, as Salamence is a Pokemon that forces a lot of switches; you can easily Roost when the opponent switches out to a more suitable Pokemon to regain lost HP. Fire Fang currently has little worth on Salamence aside from preventing it from being walled by Bronzong and Skarmory as well as dealing a bit more damage to Celebi, but honostly this isn't that big of a concern as Empoleon can set up on Bronzong and Skarmory lacking Whirlwind, while Scizor abuses Celebi with its Bug-type STAB (which is 4x effective on the pixie). Roost also gives Salamence a better chance at a sweep, which in turn furthers Empoleon's chances for a sweep. Weakening up the opponent's core is the name of the game with Salamence and as such you probably want it to be living in the match for as long as possible. Also, on Salamence there is no need to run a Hasty nature as you aren't running any Special Attacks currently; Hasty just lowers Salamence's defense for no reason. Use a Jolly nature instead. Also, run a Timid nature as opposed to a Modest one on Rotom-W so that you can outspeed Jolly Gyarados after a Dragon Dance.

I think that you should consider switching your current Scizor set to a standard Choice Band Scizor. You say that Scizor helps out the team by scouting for counters, but really this isn't entirely true; Scizor doesn't "scout" for anything seeing as it is a Swords Dancer, and once said Pokemon that you mentioned in your description for Scizor are on the field, you really can't do a lot to harm them. Choice Band Scizor makes an excellent and powerful scouter with its STAB U-turn, and it partners nicely with Flygon; having dual U-turners on a team is never a bad idea as it easily allows you to scout the opposing team. Use a set like:

Scizor @ Choice Band | Technician
Adamant | 248 HP | 252 Atk | 8 Spe
U-turn | Bullet Punch | Pursuit | Superpower

U-turn is a great move for scouting as Scizor, much like Salamence, has a knack for causing switches. U-turning on the switch is a great way to catch the opponent off guard and control the momentum of the match, as while your opponent sends out a Pokemon like Gyarados to take Scizor's assaults, Scizor simply U-turns away to say Rotom-W. Now Gyarados is damaged, has taken Stealth Rock damage, and part of the opponent's team is revealed. Bullet Punch as I'm sure you are aware is fantastic STAB Technician boosted priority. It is also a huge help to have a Choice Band Bullet Punch on this team in particular as this team really relies on Flygon to check a lot of threats that would otherwise prove troublesome to the team like Dragon Dance Salamence; Bullet Punch gives your team another "soft" check to Salamence. Pursuit is nice for trapping and removing common Choiced-locked Latias and Rotom-A that could prove problimatic for the team when Salamence and Empoleon go to attempt their respective sweepes. Superpower is a huge help and with good prediction you can easily nail the opponent's Heatran or Magnezone switchins who think that they are just switching in safely on a resisted Bullet Punch.

Hope the changes helped, good luck! ;)

Hi,

Nice team, and all the major suggestions were already covered by other posters. I agree with the suggestions to change the Shuca Berry to either Occa Berry or Lum Berry (I like Occa Berry to deal with the Fire Attacks coming from Salamence and Heatran/Infernape Leads), also Fire Blast on Salamence over Fire Fang, and Naive Nature. The Scizor suggestion posted above looks like it would be more beneficial over your SD Scizor. CB U-turn helps scout and bring in your own sweeper easily. Pursuit and Bullet Punch are also great moves to pick off Latias and other Ghost types, and good priority. BP checks Salamence as well, and can also be used to clean up weakened pokemon; even when resisted it will KO almost every poke under 25% health.

A few other suggestions. First, I suggest taking the scarf off Rotom-W, it will really help from being pursuit-killed by Tyranitar. I also suggest changing the set to the standard,

Rotom-W @ Leftovers
252 HP / 168 Def / 88 Spe
Bold Nature

~ Thunderbolt
~ Hidden Power Fighting
~ Shadow Ball/Hydro Pump
~ Will-O-Wisp

The spread gives it more bulk and now you have Will-o-wisp to help pass status around and clear the way for Empoleon. I put HP Fighting in there to deal with Tyranitar, but you might want to have Hydro Pump instead, it 2HKOs Tyranitar IIRC.

Second, I suggestion changing Thunderpunch on Flygon to Stone Edge, it offers more type coverage overall. It still hits Gyarados for super effective, but it can also KO weakened Zapdos and other Flying types or Ice types.

Finally, on Empoleon, I'd recommend substitute over Grass Knot simply because it'll be a lot easier to set up and attack behind a sub. And after you get one Agility up, it should be easy to substitute down to 25% health and wreck some havoc.

Overall, nice team, gl
