Please Help me with OU Team

Hi, I've been playing OU for the past 6 months on ps and I like to say I am fairly good. I think my ranking is around 1650 which isn't too bad. I think I could have a much better ranking because strategy wise and predictions, I know I am very good at, but when it comes down to team building and team synergy, I think I fall short. So for this RMT, I made a new rain team to the other previous ones I had and I welcome any suggestions to improve this team. I also be giving you people reasons why I have the specific pokes on my team. Thanks and I hope you enjoy.

Team:

Starmie @ Life Orb
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Rapid Spin
- Psyshock
- Hydro Pump
- Ice Beam

He is my offensive Rapid Spinner. I like him a lot as he can abuse the rain with hydro pump and at the same time get rid of hazards more reliably as he is fast. I feel he is important to my team as any spinner or magic bounce user is vital to a good ou team. He has psyshock instead of thunder/thunderbolt for coverage.

Rotom-Wash @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 248 HP / 32 SAtk / 228 SDef
Calm Nature
- Volt Switch
- Hydro Pump
- Thunder Wave
- Pain Split

He is the special wall for the team. He works well and can land a few t waves on the other pokes making it easier for my team. i also like the fact that it can still hit hard in the rain with hydro pump

Politoed (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Drizzle
EVs: 252 Def / 252 HP / 4 SAtk
Bold Nature
- Scald
- Ice Beam
- Toxic
- Perish Song

The number one pokemon for any rain team. I decided to go with a standard physically defensive one as I lacked a special wall. He is fairly good at this and can force switches out with perish song. I'm still on the fringes between this set or the specially defensive set. I don't want the offensive set as I already have 2 hydro pump abusers. Please let me know if you would change this set.

Jirachi @ Leftovers
Trait: Serene Grace
EVs: 240 HP / 252 Atk / 16 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Thunder Wave
- U-turn
- Iron Head
- Zen Headbutt

Jirachi is a great utility pokemon, he can slow down threats with thunderwave and proceed to parahax, iron head an zen headbutt have decent coverage. he also can take hits thx to the hp investment. i gave him 16 speed with jolly so that way he can outspeed jolly breloom and kill it with zen headbutt. i could have adamant with 108 speed but i prefer having more hp investment.

Landorus-Therian (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Intimidate
EVs: 60 Atk / 200 HP / 244 Def
Adamant Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake
- U-turn

Landorus t is a great utility pokemon, he can scare threats off and proceed to u-turn, he can put up stealth rocks, get intimidates and because i run a bulky spread, he can definitely take hits.

Tornadus (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Prankster
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Hurricane
- Heat Wave
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Tailwind

To be honest, y the hell is the pokemon uu. in the rain, he becomes one the biggest threats, he's single-handedly destroyed teams. He can use tailwind thanks to prankster and help my team. His hurricane has monstrous power. and heat wave is mainly there to get rid of scizor and ferrothorn, 2 pokes who are threats to my team. hidden power ice to get rid of dragons.

So that's my team. I hope you enjoyed this short rmt. I've used this team a few times and had some success. Please leave any suggestions( spreads or switch pokes out) to this team and I'll gladly consider them. Thank you

On tornadus, you might want to take off heat wave, and change it with focus blast instead, to cover tyranitar, ferro, etc.

Here are some edits:
you might want to replace heat wave with superpower, u-turn, or focus blast on tornadus
you should make politoed offensive cause it is just better and it isn't just death fodder

This is a really solid rain team! Let's tweak it up a bit.

-I suggest Scarf Garchomp to replace Jirachi. Here is my reasoning: Any scarf sweeper/revenge killer can come in and demolish your team, as you have nothing to outspeed it/them. Scarf Terrakion is a fine example of that, along with Landorus-I. Also, your team has no guaranteed counters to Dragon-types, as well as the weather inductors. Garchomp can outspeed any choice scarf Dragon-type (Par Latios and Latias, though they're not common), has fantastic Attack stats, and can handle Ninetales, Tyranitar, dent Hippowdon, and even fare against the rare Abomosnow (though, Chomp must be wary of Choice Band Ice Shard).

Also, besides outspeeding Jolly Breloom (which Tornadus does) what use is Jirachi to your team, honestly? You have Rotom-W for Thunder Wave, and paraflinch isn't as useful in Rain. Despite the added Ice-type weakness (Mamoswine), the other three water-types can easily rid of Mamo. Tailwind on Tornadus also helps Garchomp outspeed Lati@s.

-Finally, I agree with LittleGuy; Focus Blast > Heat Wave. With Garchomp's coverage, Heat Wave is not needed, and while Focus Blast has a lower accuracy rate, it can be very useful, as Heat Wave's power is lowered in Rain. This is optional, however, though, you should test and see.

That's all I have for your team; it's really solid. Good luck with it in the future! =)

Garchomp @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Rough Skin
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 HP
Jolly Nature
- Outrage
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge / Aqua Tail
- Dual Chop

Stone Edge to handle Thundurus-T, Mamoswine, and Volcarona; Aqua Tail is to hit Skarmory and Brongzong. Stone Egde is recommended, though. Jolly nature grants the ability to outspeed Choice Scarf Salamence; Jolly Salamence outspeeds Adamant Garchomp.

Pokemon Change(s):
----->

Move Change(s): Focus Blast > Heat Wave ---->
**Optional but recommended to test**

This is a valid use to prove Keldeo should be used, but spamming walls of calculations isn't the way to go. Magikarp? Ninetales/Hippowdon/Tyranitar in rain VS a Keldeo? Eviolite Riolu? If you want a true argument, you should've mentioned Blissey/Chansey, or Ferrothorn. It is informative, but the wrong way to approach it.

Considering just how offensively natured your team is, i think you should consider Tentacruel over Starmie. It has much better bulk, and acts as another valuable defensie pivot. I would use the moveset Rapid Spin, Protect, Toxic, and Hydro Pump. Hydro Pump may seem weird over the more common scald, but Scald somewhat conflicts with Toxic, and Hydro Pump actually does decent damage in the rain, even with no investment in SpA.
Good luck!

-I also agree with LittleGuy and Governess about Focus Blast over Heat Wave. It really helps especially considering you have a rain team.

i say you should add superpower over focus blast b/c you might only need focus blast once or twice in a match so it isn't worth missing and tearing your hair out, also the rest of the set is special based so it wouldn't hurt your offense either, and on top of that, it hits t-tar's weaker stat in the sand super effectively if you need to.

Also, you might want thunder on your starmie b/c this is a RAIN team and you should get an offensive b/c this is a more offensive team. politoed here's some important calcs:

252SpAtk Choice Specs Politoed (+SAtk) Hydro Pump in Sandstorm vs 4HP/0SpDef Leftovers Tyranitar (Neutral):
98% - 115% (336 - 396 HP). Guaranteed 2HKO. 90% chance to OHKO.

252SpAtk Choice Specs Politoed (+SAtk) Hydro Pump in Sandstorm vs 252HP/252SpDef Leftovers Tyranitar (+SpDef):
59% - 71% (242 - 288 HP). Guaranteed 2HKO.

252SpAtk Choice Specs Politoed (+SAtk) Hydro Pump in Sandstorm vs 4HP/0SpDef Leftovers Hippowdon (Neutral):
184% - 216% (660 - 776 HP). Guaranteed OHKO.

252SpAtk Choice Specs Politoed (+SAtk) Hydro Pump in Sandstorm vs 252HP/252SpDef Leftovers Hippowdon (+SpDef): 105% - 124% (444 - 524 HP). Guaranteed OHKO.

252SpAtk Choice Specs Politoed (+SAtk) Hydro Pump in Sun vs 252HP/252SpDef Leftovers Ninetales (+SpDef):
52% - 61% (182 - 216 HP). Guaranteed 2HKO.

252SpAtk Choice Specs Politoed (+SAtk) Hydro Pump in Sun vs 4HP/0SpDef Leftovers Ninetales (Neutral): 88% - 104% (254 - 300 HP). Guaranteed 2HKO. 26% chance to OHKO.

so basically poli can OHKO-2HKO all other potent weather starters in any form of weather with offensive set.
