Pokemon TCG

I have been doing some searches and I haven't found a thread on it.

I am wondering how many people here play the card game. I have been playing casually for a few months now and it has been very enjoy able and easy to pick up and play. I've taught 3 or 4 people in a matter of minutes.

The game can be played at a competitive level as well. If there are enough people into the card game on this forum, there could be room for deck rating and fixing.

Just a thought.

What do you think?

Yeah, I play competitively. What deck do you run? I run Scizor/Cherrim, a fast T2 deck, Kingdra, another godly deck, and Tyranitar.

Go to Pokegym.com, you'll get news on the latest decks.

I got my sister into it, and we make proxies, aka paper cards. We print them so that we dont have to get used to the deck the second we construct it.

I like to collect the cards, and i been thinking about learning, a heads up about building my first deck and learning to play would be much appreciated :).

From what I understand about deck building, you want to keep somewhat of a balance of 20-20-20 with the Pokemon, Trainers, and Energy.

I usually rock 18 pokemon, 17 energy, the rest trainers.

Other than that, use cards that go well with the main pokemon line you choose.

The TGC... it brings me back. I bought it right from Base Set, and only wtopped in Skyridge. Long time ago tough, but i still have my decks. I bet I don't have a single card inside the current rotation rofl

My girlfriend and I got into at the beginning of this semester, now we're hooked but can't afford the best decks on a college budget :)

I usually go to other sites for my tcg needs though and keep smogon for competitive battling, and rightly so IMO.

I play classic Pokemon TCG, not all this new EX bullshit and the like.

I run Rain Dance with lots of draw power, from Bill, Prof. Oak, Cleffa, Computer Search, Item Finder, and Pokemon Trader.

Im actually interested in getting into this since yugioh is sorta dieing out because of the whole konami and ude issue. First I would like to build a fun deck.. to get into it. I wanted to build something based around Wigglytuff if thats even possible. Dont care how terrible it might be I just want to play it.

It's actually pokegym.net
Yea I still play the tcg. There is also a lot of information on the go-pokemon.com website. The game is still alive and well. If you want to read about all the new cards another site to check out is pokebeach.com

True smogon is for competitive pokemon battling..but I think a case could also be made for competitive pokemon card battling. They are only a word apart and the cards can just as easily be made into something competitive...

Money is the one thing that turns me off of TCGs, in general. If you have the money to get all the good cards, then you will nonstop. With pokemon, at least to me, it is a little different. It might just be my luck but I have been pulling some great cards out of the few boosters I get.

I have never felt like I have spend pornographic amounts of money to make a deck worth playing.

Even if that becomes your worry, the game is still great to play casually. The rules are pretty basic and the cards don't have tricky wording.
