Birkal did all the work
[Pros]

Despite its mediocre typing, it can scare off threats such as Rotom-W and Starmie with just its Grass-type STABs alone. Rock- and Ground-types also fear switching into Abomasnow.

100% accurate Blizzard as well as the only Pokemon currently with Snow Warning.

Able to annoy opponents with Leech Seed and STAB Ice Shard.

Mega Abomasnow has awesome offensive and good defensive stats.

[Cons]

Wood Hammer takes a hefty chunk of health if used.

No current access to Giga Drain which leaves Leech Seed and Ingrain for recovery.

Has a plethora of weaknesses - x4 weak to Fire and weak to Flying really blows.

Hail only lasts 5 turns.

Slow; especially after Mega Evolution.

Since Abomasnow lacks Giga Drain, Leech Seed is Abomasnow's best option to prolong its longevity.

Abomasnow is set apart from many SubSeeders because it has STAB Blizzard to shut down Grass-type switch-ins. Blizzard also deters threats such as Talonflame and Ferrothorn from a safe switch-in.

Ice Beam offers more PP at a cost of power.

Wood Hammer is your best Grass-type attacking move since it will hit threats such as Vaporeon and Gastrodon on their weaker defense spectrum. This also prevents Rotom-W from a safe switch-in.

Alternatively Energy Ball will help Abomasnow in situations where Will-O-Wisp is a threat to it.

Substitute is great with Leech Seed and Leftovers since Abomasnow will be obtaining its health back. On the other hand Protect can help with stalling out for free HP or scout out for attacks. In the instance of Mega Evolution, it also allows Abomasnow to Mega Evolve safely.

Rock Slide is a fine alternatives to this set since threats such as Talonflame, Charizard, and Volcarona can really hamper Abomasnow.

If you decide to use Abomasite, opt for 0 Speed EVs. This prevents Ferrothorn from breaking Abomasnow's Substitute when using a Sassy nature.

Rotom-W and Abomasnow is an excellent combination. Rotom-W does well at taking some of Abomasnow's notable weaknesses and counters while Abomasnow does well at eliminating Rotom-W's as well.

Abomasnow and Excadrill also make a great pair since Abomasnow hates Stealth Rock and Excadrill appreciates threats such as bulky Ground-types removed from the field. Starmie also works well since Abomasnow at least hampers Grass-types such as Trevenant and Gourgeist. Mega Blastoise also works, though beware Mega Abomasnow and Mega Blastoise cannot be on the same team.

Magnezone handily removes Steel-types that plague Abomasnow. Abomasnow also helps out eliminate Grass-types that trouble Magnezone as well.

Gastrodon makes a decent partner since it can handle some of Abomasnow's weaknesses fairly well.

This set is a bit more of an offensive approach to Abomasnow. Since it's so slow anyway, Abomasnow might as well take advantage of its bulk in its mega form and focus on investing in HP and an attacking stat.

STAB Blizzard is nothing to scoff at.

Wood Hammer and Earthquake compliment Blizzard for decent coverage.

The fourth slot is merely preference. Ice Shard helps allow Abomasnow to hit first. Rock Slide is mainly to deter Fire-types such as Talonflame, Rotom-H, Volcarona, and Charizard from getting a free switch-in. Focus Blast is Abomasnow's best option to combat Ferrothorn and Mega Aggron. Finally, Substitute helps create a safe zone for Abomasnow to play behind. For example, Modest Rotom-W has a slim chance of OHKOing the Substitute. Ferrothorn will also fail to break the Substitute when Abomasnow has a -Speed nature and 0 Speed IVs.

Alternatively, Abomasnow can run Blizzard / Wood Hammer / Focus Blast / Substitute. This allows Abomasnow to guarantee defeating Ferrothorn without wasting Blizzard's precious PP.

Abomasnow can also forego all HP investment for max Attack and Special Attack. This makes Abomasnow a very difficult Pokemon to switch into safely but also can sacrifice some bulk.

Teammates from set one is about the same as set two.

[Checks and Counters]

Abomasnow is slow; especially after Mega Evolution. Though its defenses are not too shabby, this makes Abomasnow easy to pick off if it is not behind a Substitute.

Steel-types really plague Abomasnow if it lacks Earthquake. Aside from rare instances such as Ferrothorn and Skarmory, most Steel-types can switch into both of Abomasnow's STABs and punish it handily. Skarmory has to fear Blizzard to an extent, but Brave Bird is good enough to help dispose of the Ice Giant.

Fire-types really plague Abomasnow. Rotom-H, Talonflame, and Volcarona all can switch into STAB Wood Hammer with little issue. Talonflame has priority Brave Bird to shut down Abomasnow while Volcarona can set up on those lacking Leech Seed and Rock Slide without much issue. Charizard X is bulky enough to take a Blizzard and shut down Abomasnow handily while Charizard Y changes the weather.

Blissey doesn't like SubSeed, but it can troll the offensive Abomasnow with little trouble. Abomasnow takes hefty recoil from Wood Hammer too.

Abomasnow has many weaknesses and is prone to status such as burn and poison. Stealth Rock weakness will also keep Abomasnow from switching in too often.
