[OVERVIEW]
Quilladin distinguishes itself from other Pokemon in the PU tier with its great Eviolite-boosted bulk and good ability Bulletproof, which allows it to take moves such as Sludge Bomb from Roselia and Weather Ball from Victreebel, making it a good check to sun teams. It faces competition from other Grass-types such as Tangela and Roselia, but unlike Roselia, it is a physical wall, and unlike Tangela, it is able to set up Spikes. It has access to reliable recovery in Synthesis, which gives it more longevity to take on Pokemon such as Carracosta and Barbaracle. Its Grass typing gives it an immunity to Sleep Powder and Leech Seed, but on the downside, it also makes it weak to common types such as Fire, Flying, and Ice. Quilladin is also relatively passive, making it easy for Pokemon such as Ninetales and Jumpluff to set up on it.

Moves
========
Spikes is a valuable asset to any team, as it weakens the opponent's Pokemon every time they switch in. Roar is used to rack up residual damage with Spikes by forcing switchesand also phases setup sweepers such as Simipour. Synthesis allows Quilladin to switch into physical attackers multiple times while granting Quilladin more longevity. Alternatively, Leech Seed gives Quilladin a good means of wearing the opponent's team down while granting small amounts of recovery, but it is less reliable than Synthesis. Seed Bomb is a reliable STAB move without recoil, allowing Quilladin to reliably check Pokemon such as Barbaracle and Carracosta. Taunt allows Quilladin to prevent opposing leads from setting up entry hazards and from using status and setup moves.
Set Details
========
Maximum EVs in HP and Defense along with an Impish nature and Eviolite make Quilladin an excellent physical wall, allowing it to take hits from Pokemon such as Barbaracle and Golem. Bulletproof grants Quilladin an immunity to moves such as Sludge Bomb from Roselia, Shadow Ball from Misdreavus, and Focus Blast from Raichu.
Usage Tips
========
Quilladin can be used as an entry hazard lead, but it should be wary of Taunt users. Synthesis should be used after switching into attacks to ensure Quilladin's longevity, and Quilladin should avoid switching into Knock Off, as without its Eviolite, it is unable to check a lot of the Pokemon it usually would be able to. Quilladin should set up Spikes against Pokemon it walls, such as Torterra and Sawsbuck. It should be used to switch into offensive Pokemon such as Golem and Carracosta due to its great Defense and typing. It can also be used to check abusers of Sunny Day, such as Victreebel and Leafeon.
Team Options
========
Defensive Quilladin fits best on balanced and stall teams for its ability to provide support in the form of Spikes and take on some of the tier's biggest threats. Stealth Rock users such as Piloswine and Golem are helpful to Quilladin for their ability to rack up more damage on the foe along with Spikes from Quilladin. Quilladin partners well with Probopass, as it resists super effective Flying- and Ice-type moves targeted at Quilladin and can provide Stealth Rock support. Fast sweepers such as Simipour and Ninetales appreciate entry hazards, allowing them to take on bulkier Pokemon much more effectively. Phazers such as Poliwrath and Grumpig can force foes out with the use of Circle Throw and Whirlwind, racking up extra damage on foes. Electric-types such as Raichu and Rotom-F are helpful for their ability to take out most of the tier's Defog users and remove Flying-types. Grumpig partners well with Quilladin, as it can take on super effective Fire- and Ice-type attacks targeted at it. Poliwrath is similarly a great partner for Quilladin because it also has the ability to take super effective Fire- and Ice-type attacks and absorb Knock Off that is targeted at Quilladin. Ghost-types such as Misdreavus and Gourgeist make for good partners because of their ability to prevent Rapid Spin, keeping Quilladin's Spikes in play. Users of Defiant such as Pawniard discourage the use of Defog, also keeping Spikes on the opposite side of the field. Quilladin along with a Fire-type such as Rapidash and Water-type such as Carracosta can be used to form a Fire / Water / Grass core, allowing each of the Pokemon to cover the other's weaknesses.

Moves
========
Spikes is an almost essential asset to most teams, as it weakens the foe's Pokemon every time they switch in. Taunt is used to prevent opposing entry hazards from being set up, such as Stealth Rock from Golem and Probopass and Spikes from Roselia and Venipede; it is also used to prevent foes from setting up or inflicting status on Quilladin. Wood Hammer is a strong STAB move that can deal a lot of damage to neutral targets while inflicting recoil on Quilladin; it has the added benefit of KOing Quilladin after it has been knocked down to its Focus Sash, thereby preventing an opposing Defog or Rapid Spin. If Quilladin is using Eviolite, it should use Seed Bomb instead of Wood Hammer, so as not to take unnecessary damage. Endeavor is used to weaken a foe immensely, especially if Quilladin has been knocked down to 1 HP with the help of its Focus Sash. Alternatively, Drain Punch is helpful to take on Pokemon such as Probopass and Pawniard more effectively.
Set Details
========
Maximum Speed investment along with a Jolly nature allows Quilladin to outspeed possible, leads such as Probopass, Golem, and Roselia. Maximum Attack investment allows Quilladin to deal a lot of damage to common leads, such as Golem and Probopass. Bulletproof grants Quilladin an immunity to moves such as Roselia's Sludge Bomb, Raichu's Focus Blast, and Victreebel's Weather Ball. Focus Sash allows Quilladin to survive any one hit, giving it the opportunity to set up a layer of Spikes, while Eviolite allows it to take more hits from Pokemon such as Golem and Piloswine.
Usage Tips
========
Quilladin is usually used as a lead, preventing opposing leads such as Roselia and Golem from setting up entry hazards. It should set up as many Spikes as possible and once it has been brought down to a low amount of health, it can severely weaken the foe with Endeavor. When an entry hazard remover is brought in against Quilladin and it is at a low amount of health, it can use Wood Hammer in order to KO itself, preventing the use of Rapid Spin or Defog. Quilladin can be saved for use in the later portion of a game to weaken the foe with Endeavor. Offensive Quilladin should not be used to check Shell Smash users such as Carracosta or Sunny Day abusers such as Leafeon, as it is quickly worn down and limited in how many hits it can take.
Team Options
========
Offensive Spikes Quilladin fits best on offensive and balanced teams for its ability to reliably set up Spikes and keep Spikes away from its side of the field. Users of Stealth Rock, such as Piloswine and Golem, are helpful to support Quilladin by racking up more damage on the foe. Probopass is a good partner for Quilladin, as it resists super effective Flying- and Ice-type moves targeted at Quilladin and can provide Stealth Rock support. Fast sweepers such as Simipour and Ninetales appreciate the support from Quilladin, as with Spikes, they can take on bulkier Pokemon much more effectively. Electric-types such as Zebstrika and Raichu are helpful for their ability to take out most of the tier's Defog users and remove Flying-types, which Quilladin is weak to. Spinblockers such as Misdreavus and Gourgeist make for good partners because of their ability to keep Quilladin's Spikes in play. Defiant users such as Pawniard are able to discourage the use of Defog, therefore keeping entry hazards on the opposing team's side of the field.

Other Options
=============
Bulk Up could be used on a boosting set, although it leaves Quilladin setup fodder, vulnerable to status, and easily revenge killed. Super Fang could be used to deal good damage when the foe has high HP, and it works well in tandem with Leech Seed; however, this leaves Quilladin vulnerable to Ghost-types. Stone Edge can also be used to deal super effective damage to Flying- and Fire-types that attempt to switch into Quilladin. Toxic allows Quilladin to put the foe on a timer, wearing them down or forcing them to switch, although it doesn't gain recovery in return like it would with Leech Seed. Quilladin can also act more as a special wall with an EV spread of 248 HP / 8 Atk / 252 SpD.
Checks and Counters
===================
**Entry Hazard Removers**: Rapid Spinners and Defoggers such as Torkoal, Armaldo, Pelipper, and Togetic all can take hits from Quilladin relatively well and can remove the entry hazards that Quilladin sets up.
**Flying-types**: Flying-types such as Swanna, Jumpluff, and Dodrio resist Quilladin's STAB move and are able to deal super effective damage in return; Swanna and Jumpluff can take advantage of Quilladin by Defogging and setting up Swords Dances, respectively.
**Fire-types**: Fire-types such as Flareon and Ninetales resist Quilladin's STAB move, taking little to no damage, and are able to OHKO with their super effective STAB attacks; the latter can also take advantage of Quilladin by setting up Nasty Plots on it.
**Grass-types**: Grass-types such as Roselia and Tangela are immune to Leech Seed and resist Quilladin's STAB move; the former takes advantage of it by setting up Spikes on it, while the ladder can deal heavy damage to it with Hidden Power Ice.
**Taunt**: Pokemon such as Misdreavus and Grumpig can Taunt Quilladin, which prevents it from setting up Spikes or recovering, and they can easily wear it down.
