RMT Balanced OU

This is my first team ever! I was hoping for a team that could do well in covering most of the opponents in the game. I decided to base it around a special sweeping Gengar.
[pimg]94[/pimg]
Gengar's immunities to Ground, Fighting, and Normal types allows Blissey to be a perfect counterpart. Gengar is to take the attacks that our favorite fat, pink blob cannot withstand. I chose Blissey over Eviolite Chansey.
[pimg]94[/pimg] [pimg]242[/pimg]
And when there is Blissey, there is Skarmory. Skarmory takes the physical attacks and it can set up Spikes to get that valuable entry damage. Where Gengar may fail in aiding Blissey, Skarmory will be right there to take the physical damage.
[pimg]227[/pimg] [pimg]94[/pimg] [pimg]242[/pimg]
With those three as my core, the next addition should be a physical sweeper. I was a little torn on who I should chose, so I decided to go ahead and create my lead! I didn't want to use a legendary, so I decided with Infernape. Its Stealth Rock along with Skarmory's Spikes can stack up the entry damage. It has a pretty good Attack, Special Attack, and Speed. Its Fire and Fighting along with strong STAB moves like Blaze Kick and Close Combat can cover a wide range of opponents.
[pimg]395[/pimg] [pimg]227[/pimg] [pimg]94[/pimg] [pimg]242[/pimg]
I decided to go with an attacking Lucario. With Sword Dance and ExtremeSpeed he can be a fast option to take out quicker and more frail pokemon like Alakazam who can obliterate Gengar and Blissey with Psyshock. Close Combat is a powerful STAB move and along with Ice Punch he can take out Gliscor and hopefully weaken 4x Dragon Types.
[pimg]395[/pimg] [pimg]227[/pimg] [pimg]94[/pimg] [pimg]242[/pimg] [pimg]453[/pimg]
To cover the weaknesses in my previous pokemon, I went with a Jellicent.
[pimg]395[/pimg] [pimg]227[/pimg] [pimg]94[/pimg] [pimg]242[/pimg] [pimg]453[/pimg] [pimg]623[/pimg]

Lead
[pimg]395[/pimg]
Infernape @ Focus Sash

Ability: Blaze

EVs: 252 Attack / 64 Special Attack / 192 Speed

Naive Nature (+Speed, -Special Defense)

Fake Out – Stealth Rock – Blaze Kick – Close Combat
My main reason for Infernape is for Stealth Rock. With Fake Out, Infernape can beat out some weaker leads. His powerful STAB moves can also be effective if he gets the chance to use them. Depending on who the lead is, I could set up Stealth Rock and save Infernape for Fire weak pokemon like Scizor. Leads like Hippowdon and Starmie can be countered with Jellicent or Gengar, if those are the leads.

Physical Wall
[pimg]227[/pimg]
Skarmory @ Shed Shell
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 232 Special Defense / 24 Speed
Impish Nature (+Defense, -Special Attack)
Roost – Spikes – Whirlwind – Brave Bird
I want Skarmory to also set up Spikes along with Infernape's Stealth Rock. My plan for him is to tank, stall, and wall physical attacking pokemon that Blissey can't fair against. Brave Bird is a powerful STAB move that could counter Scizor and other pokemon if that comes to it. I like Whirlwind because hopefully it can mess up my opponent's strategy and allow Skarmory to fair longer.

Special Sweeper
[pimg]94[/pimg]
Gengar @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Special Attack / 252 Speed
Timid Nature (+Speed, -Attack)
Shadow Ball – Thunderbolt – Focus Blast – Substitute
Gengar is who I decided to base my team around. Shadow Ball is an effective STAB move and his neutral base can affect a large range of opponents. I kept Thunderbolt in to allow him to take down bulky water types like Gyarados and Vaporeon. I can also use Gengar as a sacrifice for Lucario if I wanted to be KOed by a Choice-locked Pursuit, and hopefully allow Lucario to set up the sweep. Gengar's counter, Blissey, can hopefully be taken care of by Lucario if I switch in correctly. I would debate on using Taunt, but I would rather have a stronger sweeping Gengar.

Special Wall
[pimg]242[/pimg]
Blissey @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Defense / 4 Special Defense
Bold Nature (+Defense, -Attack)
Seismic Toss – Softboiled – Aromatherapy – Toxic
I decided on a Blissey over an Eviolite Chansey. If Blissey loses her leftovers, than she is less harmed then a Chansey without an Eviolite. Blissey's leftovers can also negate Sandstrom damage. Skarmory's Spikes and Infernape's Stealth Rock can help weaken the opposing pokemon that switch in to fight the FAT BLOB. Jellicent can negate Rapid SPin users to keep those entry damages up. I went with Seismic Toss over Flamethrower because of the consistency to damage a wider range of opponents.

Physical Sweeper
[pimg]453[/pimg]
Lucario @ Life Orb
Ability: Inner Focus
EVs: 4HP / 252 Attack / 252 Speed
Jolly Nature (+Speed, -Special Attack)
Swords Dance – ExtremeSpeed – Close Combat – Ice Punch
I hope I'm not doubling up my Infernape with this attacking Lucario. Lucario does a better job in covering up Gengar's weaknesses like Alakazam. He can +2 ExtremeSpeed and take out a lot more frail pokemon. Instead of Crunch to take out the Psychic and Ghost types, I went with the Ice Punch to takedown the 4x Dragons. I was hoping Lucario could takeout the pokemon Gengar couldn't. With the entry damage, Lucario could easily set up for a late game sweep if it comes down to that.

Wall/Weakness Specialist
[pimg]623[/pimg]
Jellicent @ Water Gem
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 248 HP / 216 Defense / 44 Speed
Bold Nature (+Defense, -Attack)
Surf - Will-O-Wisp - Recover - Taunt
I chose Jellicent to take out Water and Fire Types that Skarmory and Infernape cannot handle. Like Gengar, with Blissey as bait to Fighting types, Jellicent can be switched in. I rely on a lot of entry damage, so Jellicent can block all the Spinners. Jellicent also helps against the Ground Type weaknesses like Tyranitar that I have accumulated, and my goal for it is to cover up and counter the weaknesses of my other 5 teammates.

*This is my first team, so this might be a little rough! I hope it's not too horrible and any changes I make could fix blatant mistakes. Thanks!
I hope you like it! If there is any other blatant weaknesses that I could take of, let me know!

Skarmory is rather big taunt bait, yes?

I don't think disable gengar works as well in OU as typically most sweepers will carry several moves that will do neutral damage to it. Disabling one after it hits a sub won't stop him from using the others.

Mixed infernape sacrifices several outspeeds for coverage attacks for fireblast. It strikes me blaze kick does the same job with better accuracy and an "out" if it's not going to be enough of hoping for a critical hit rather than hoping for a hit and burn. Of course, blaze kick can burn... just 10% I think though.

Blissey -> Evolite Chansey. 'nuff said. Knockout isn't that common - Trick, too, isn't that common and Blissey is trick bait as well.

Lucario seems to be piling up on fire and fighting weaknesses.

Final thoughts - given that the core of your team is stall and entry hazards, I'm quite surprised you're not going with toxic spikes here.

Jellicent seems like a better staller than Gengar (and Pain Split Gengar seems better than not for stalling), and is good under rain.

Finally, I should point out that you've got very little in the way of coverage moves - Lucario's got 2 notable coverage type moves, but you've got the wrong NATURE (Needs to be jolly, not MODEST). Furthermore, should opt for the Justified option. You could get a nice +1 boost by switching away from your ghost at the right time.

End of the day Disable Gengar is not OU quality IMO, and building your team around a weak spinblocker seems like trouble. You're never really using him for his special attacks here. If you're dedicated to Gengar, I'd suggest a choice set coupled with a 2nd ghost type, Jellicent or Rotom, to help wall. Jellicent has a similar immunity set to Gengar but with recovery and is a good response to rain teams.

What would you suggest for moves on Gengar? And I think Jellicent is a good option. I wanted Gengar more for a Special Sweeper I guess, the disable might be definatly be useless in the end.

And why Chansey over Blissey?

Please do not post incomplete RMTs as it is clearly stated in the rules. If you are smart enough to pick five Pokemon, you can easily pick another one. Have some actual words in your post beyond your six Pokemon and their moves. Not following this makes your post quite boring to read and rate. All Pokemon should have a good reason for being in your team anyway, so why not post that reason? If you are having trouble with this one, start by giving an explanation for each team member. Why are they there? What role do they serve? How do you get them in? Then, give an explanation of how you would open with the team and how you would go about using it. All of these things help people rate your team and allow us to offer more helpful advice. Since this was somewhat a better attempt than your previous RMT, I am going to leave this open for 24 hours, if no changes are made this thread will be locked.
