This is my first RU team and I have done some reading on these forums and would like some help in making my core more stronger or to see if this team is pretty well-rounded. Bouffalant and Manectric is what started this team while filling the roster my mind set was to see what would fit well to provide the best support possible.
Please provide moveset changes or even a different pokemon if you feel it would fit a role better, thanks for your time.
Accelgor (M) @ Focus Sash
Trait: Sticky Hold
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 Hp / 252 Spe
Nature: Timid (+Spe,-SAtk)
~ Spikes
~ U-turn
~ Encore
~ Bug Buzz
Role:
1.) Set up spikes for entry hazards
2.) Encore + U-turn makes a nice combo for a safe switch.
3.) Bug Buzz is reliable STAB
Notes: My lead fails to have Stealth Rock which I am learning comes in handy for Entei & Moltres. I end up have to death fodder to kill these beasts.. solution possibly different lead?
Quagsire (M) @ Left Overs
Trait: Unaware
EVs: 252 Hp / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Nature: Careful (+SpD,-SpA)
~ Waterfall
~ Curse
~ Protect
~ Toxic
Role:
1.) Physical Wall and bait grass moves for Sap Sipper for Bouffalant
2.) Curse will help him be more of a threat rather than set-up.
3.) Protect helps to ensure a grass move is being used as well help toxic damage.
Notes: Taunt utterly destroys him but still tanks like a boss. Waterfall is his only move which hurts but he is mainly for soaking up unwanted attacks and to get a Sap Sipper boost. Now what if someone taunts and starts to set up on him switch to Hariyama. He is bulky and can knock-off unwanted items or whirlwind them out. His moveset is very helpful with a chance to paralyze and freeze, his coverage can also deal with grass type pokemon.
Bouffalant (M) @ Choice Band
Trait: Sap Sipper
EVs: 156 Hp / 252 Atk / 100 Spe
Nature: Adamant (+Atk,-SAtk)
~ Head Charge
~ Megahorn
~ Stone Edge
~ Earthquake / Superpower
Role:
1.) Physical Attacker, will put a huge dent in anything that does not resist
2.) With a Sap-Sipper boost his Head Charge is amazing as well as Megahorn
3.) He is really slow, thanks to Cresselia Thunderwave( Force Palm as well) he can shine.
Notes: The decision on to use Superpower or earthquake is very hard but I like Superpower because a levitate pokemon always walks in being "lol" I predicted you. Solution would be life orb but with Head Charge and Life orb recoil I dont like the life span.
Cresselia (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 Hp / 252 Def / 4 Spe
Nature: Bold (+Def,-Atk)
~ Thunderwave
~ Moonlight
~ Calm Mind
~ Phychic
Role:
1.) Soak up attacks that would harm Bouffalant/Manectric
2.) Thunderwave helps so Bouffalant can outspeed and stall.
3.) Calm Mind and Phychic help with dealing damage so she can break a substitute and tank better.
Notes: Cresselia is definitely amazing with her impunity to ground moves which goes hand in hand with my Special Sweeper Manectric. Thinking maybe a different spread in EV's but with all the Hitmonlee's Hi jump kicks and Sheer Force Life Orb Pokemon, I think bold is more of a fit.
Hariyama (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Thick-Fat
EVs: 12 Hp / 252 SpD / 244 Def
Nature: Careful (+SpD,-SpA)
~ Knock off
~ Whirlwind
~ Force Palm
~ Ice Punch
Role:
1.) Soak up attacks that would hit Cresselia hard and to phaze out any unwanted
pokemon.
2.) With thick-fat I can tank powerhouses like Moltres and Entei
3.) Knock-Off & Whirlwind are unexpected and help cripple pokemon with dependant items
Notes: I think a lead Guts-boosted variant can help with my current lead then make a choice specs Accelgor. Fakeout, Ice Punch, Bullet Punch and Close Combat. However this is the initial team composition I used. So will try the Guts-Boosted Hariyama if I get enough feedback on this team. As of right now I think maybe a bulk-up instead of whirlwind would also help.
Manectric (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Lightning Rod
EVs: 4 Hp / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Nature: Timid (+Spe,-Atk)
~ Voltswitch
~ Hidden Power [Grass]
~ Overheat
~ Switcheroo
Role:
1.) To defeat anything in his wake! To be serious to revenge kill.
2.) Switcheroo is to cripple walls that are forced to one move.
3.) Scout and kill.
Notes: Choice Scarf of Specs? I really felt Specs over did it and Scarf lets me clean up more nicely even though priority moves still beat him out. Manectric has to be switched in safely due to his weak defenses but when played right he fits perfectly.
