Overview
########

Rotom-F's excellent Ice / Electric STAB combination provides great coverage, and when used in combination with its decent special stats and Speed, makes it a great late-game cleaner and early-game scout. Rotom-F's access to Volt Switch and Trick allows it to run both Choice Scarf and Choice Specs sets quite well, and its Levitate ability along with its handy paralysis immunity gives it many switch-in opportunities. Unfortunately, Rotom-F's secondary Ice typing comes with weaknesses to common attacking types such as Fighting, Rock, and Fire, meaning that Pokemon such as Sawk, Pyroar, and Gurdurr can usually force it out. Its low base HP also means that it can be worn down very easily.

Choice Scarf
########
name: Choice Scarf
move 1: Volt Switch
move 2: Blizzard
move 3: Thunderbolt
move 4: Trick
ability: Levitate
item: Choice Scarf
evs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
nature: Timid

Moves
========

Volt Switch allows Rotom-F to act as a fast scout when holding a Choice Scarf, pivoting in and out while outspeeding the whole unboosted tier. Blizzard acts as Rotom-F's Ice-type STAB move, hitting anything that doesn't resist it extremely hard. Thunderbolt gives Rotom-F effective BoltBeam coverage, hitting the entire tier for at least neutral damage in combination with Blizzard. Trick is Rotom-F's best bet to cripple special walls such as Audino, locking them into a move to give teammates setup opportunities and prevent walls from supporting their team.

Set Details
========

A Timid nature along with maximum Special Attack and Speed investment allows Rotom-F to hit as hard and fast as possible, notably outspeeding Jolly Sawk even after Rotom-F has Tricked away its Choice Scarf. Choice Scarf lets Rotom-F outspeed the whole unboosted tier and act as a fast pivot or scout to gain offensive momentum.

Usage Tips
========

Rotom-F's ability to threaten most Ground-types with its STAB Blizzard discourages them from switching in to absorb Volt Switch, giving it ample opportunities to keep or gain offensive momentum, but be wary that a mispredicted switch could lead to forfeiting all your momentum. Thunderbolt can be used to clean up late-game when Grass- and Ground-types have been removed, but be cautious of using it when the opponent has switch-ins to Electric-type moves. Trick should only be used when absolutely necessary, such as on Audino if your team has trouble with it, as the Choice Scarf may come in handy early-game.

Team Options
========

Spinners and Defoggers are necessary for Rotom-F to continue pivoting effectively, due to Stealth Rock limiting its Volt Switch shenanigans. Spikes or Stealth Rock users of your own such as Garbodor and Ferroseed can be helpful to whittle down opposing Pokemon as they are forced out. Sweepers like Feraligatr and Gurdurr that can set up on Pokemon that Rotom-F lures in, such as Rhydon, can benefit greatly from the free setup opportunity.

Other Options
########

Rotom-F has many alternative options, such as a Life Orb all-out attacking set, a Choice Specs set, a defensive ChestoRest set, and even an Assault Vest set. Some other options in terms of moves include Will-O-Wisp to cripple Piloswine, which completely walls most Rotom-F variants, Hidden Power Grass and Fire to hit Seismitoad and Ferroseed respectively, Pain Split for a form of HP recovery, and even Hidden Power Ice over Blizzard for those who are scared of missing.

Checks & Counters
########

**Piloswine**: Piloswine can switch into any Rotom-F lacking Will-O-Wisp, due to an immunity to Volt Switch and Thunderbolt and a resistance to Blizzard thanks to its Thick Fat ability. Piloswine kills Rotom-F's momentum and forces it out, and Piloswine it can set up Stealth Rock to further punish it.

**Special Walls**: Special walls such as Audino and specially defensive Flareon can shrug off most of Rotom-F's attacks and cripple it with status, but they don't appreciate Trick from the Choice Scarf set.

**Fire-, Rock-, and Fighting-types**: These Pokemon can either take advantage of a Choice-locked Rotom-F and proceed to dent it with a super effective STAB move or revenge kill it.

Overview
########
- keep your drinks chilled and your food fresh
- nice STAB combination
- relatively good special stats and Speed
- good scout with Volt Switch
- can cripple stuff with Trick
- o_k-ish defensive typing, but can't switch into common things like Sawk, Gurdurr, and Pyroar
- low base HP, can't take many hits and is prone to being worn down

Choice Scarf
########
name: Choice Scarf
move 1: Volt Switch
move 2: Blizzard
move 3: Thunderbolt
move 4: Trick
ability: Levitate
item: Choice Scarf
evs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
nature: Timid

Moves
========
- volt switch is STAB pivot move
- blizzard is inaccurate, but incredibly powerful STAB move
- tbolt hits stuff harder than volt switch, useful if it needs to KO stuff without switching
- trick lets it cripple a wall such as ferroseed which it otherwise can't do much to

Set Details
========
- timid outruns stuff like sawk, even after you trick the scarf away
- standard max special attack + speed spread
- choice scarf lets it outspeed most unboosted mons in the tier, turning it into a cool scout
- levitate

Usage Tips
========
- pivot on stuff
- use blizzard and tbolt where necessary
- trick walls that teammates might have trouble with

Team Options
========
- spinners / defoggers such as cryogonal and pelipper, since SR is bad for fridge rotom
- spikes and stealth rock setters such as crustle and ferroseed let it whittle the opponent down more
- sweepers that set up on the mons that rotom-f lures in, such as feraligatr and gurdurr

Other Options
########
- specs
- hp grass / fire or even hp ice for people scared of hax
- all out attacker
- chestoresto
- wow to rek piloswine
- dat ass vest
- pain split

Checks & Counters
########
- fire-, rock-, and fighting-type moves are very common and dent this fridge; sawk, rhydon, and pyroar can't really be switched into, and rhydon can come in for free on volt switch or tbolt
- SR takes a chunk out of it every time it switches in, limiting its volt switch shenanigans
- bulky stuff such as piloswine, spdf flareon, and audino take very little damage, but hate being tricked

It doesn't really get free switches with Levitate, as most Ground-types can hit it with their coverage move (Stone Edge, etc) pretty hard or cripple it with Knock Off. remove that mention from usage tips

mention Will-O-Wisp to cripple Piloswine and ChestoRest in OO. Hidden Power Ice in OO too for people that are scared to miss.

I will check it again when you are done ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

in team options do give examples of Pokemon that take advantage of Rotom-F Volt Switching out of stuff, same thing for setup sweepers. Also talk about how Volt Switch can take advantage of hazards on opponent's side when you mention entry hazard users

mention pain split in OO

mention bulky stuff like Piloswine, Flareon, Audino in checks and counters, as they can take any hit but hate Trick

I wonder if SubSplit Rotom-F is worthy enough for its own set; it has great dual STABs (which it isn't locked into), becomes much more difficult to deal with than Scarf Rotom-Frost if behind a Substitute, and Pain Split either wears down bulky defensive Pokemon or simply grants it better staying power.

I've seen it put in some good work, I wouldnt be opposed to it getting its own set.

Yeah I'm not completely sold on the idea of Scarf being the only set either especially given the amount of competition it already gets from its Normal forme in that role. Rotom-F's STAB coverage is really good and Choiced sets just don't take advantage of that as well. It still deserves a set, but I definitely think some others should be included. SubSplit seems okay but I've never used it before so I'll leave that one up to you guys.

I used Ebelt in Spiritomb meta and it worked pretty well (haven't used it since then though) so that probably merits testing too. VSwitch / Blizzard / HP Grass / WoW is primarily what I used (with maybe Tbolt slashed somewhere) though it could possibly be reworked if needed.
