Overview
########

-Good typing to deal with dark which is really common this gen
-Good ability in mold breaker
-Not the best bulk, but better physical bulk than Hitmonlee and Gallade.
-Wallbreaker
-Good coverage
-Hindered by status and sticky web
-Outclassed in ways by Gallade and Hitmonlee

Wallbreaker
########
name: Wallbreaker
move 1: Close Combat
move 2: Knock Off
move 3: Ice Punch
move 4: Earthquake / Poison Jab
ability: Mold Breaker
item: Choice Band / Life Orb
evs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
nature: Jolly

Moves
========

-Close Combat is for Dark and Steel types in the tier such as Sharpedo and Cobalion.
-Knock Off is to provide coverage against Psychic types and Ghost types that otherwise beat it such as Reuniclus, Slowking, Cofagrigus, and Doublade.
-Earthquake is a great coverage move to hit Poison types like Drapion, and even Weezing is hit because of Sawk's Mold Breaker. Earthquake also hits Fire Types and Electruc types, while also hitting many things hard neutrally.
-Poison Jab is used to hit the ever common Aromatisse, as well as hitting Grass types very hard.
-Ice Punch rounds off Sawk's coverage and is used to hit common Gighting type switches such as Grass types likeAmoonguss and Tangrowth, Flying types like Sigilyph and Braviary, while also hitting Ground types, notably Gligar.

Set Details
========

-252 EVs are dumped into Speed and Attack to maximize its offensive capabilities.
-4 SpD is to take minimum damage from residual damage.
-Choice band is used to hit opponents extremely hard and fulfill the wallbreaker role.
-On the other hand, Life Orb is used to allow Sawk to change moves while still hitting things hard, at the cost of a little bit of health each turn.
-Jolly is used to be as fast as possible, and outspeed many things.

Usage Tips
========

-Sawk shouldnt be switching in much as it doesnt appreciate residual damage.
-Sawk is an extremely hard hitter, and should take advantage by lasting as long as possible.
-It should only attack pokemon from a range it can surely KO, as it doesnt like unneeded damage.
-Sawk needs prediction with a Choice Band, as sometimes it can be locked into something extremely detrimental, such as Close Combat on Doublade which allows it to set up on Sawk, and possibly ruin your team.

Team Options
========

-Reuniclus
-Cobalion
-Registeel
-Zoroark
-Drapion
-Spikes setters like Accelgor, Qwilfish, and Omastar.
-Sticky web
-wish/aromatherapy support (aromatisse)

Other Options
########

-Bulk up can be used to bokst Sawks stats to monstrous levels.
-Sturdy can be used to tank harder hits, but gives up its niche in Mold Breaker.
-Low Sweep / Low Kick can be used as alternate Fighting type moves.
-Choice Scarf can be used to outspeed and revenge kill several speedy opponents like Delphox and Heliolisk.
-Fire Punch can be used to hit things like Escavalier and Durant.
-Stone Edge / Rock Slide can be used to deal with Flying, Fire, and Bug types.

Checks & Counters
########

**Flying types**: Flying types like Yanmega, Braviary, and Fletchinder have no problem busting Sawk with a strong STAB move. Additionally, Moltres takes neutral damage from all of Sawks moves bar the rare Stone Edge, and can easily beat it 1v1.

**Psychic types**: Psychic types like Slowking, Reuniclus, and Cressellia can usually tank a Knock Off and KO with a STAB move. Faster Psychic types like Delphox and Meloetta can outspeed and beat Sawk as well.

**Physical Walls**: Physical walls such as Tangrowth, Alomamola, and Weezing can all tank hits from Sawk and try to hit it with Status. While it is statused, it is crippled and easily beaten.

**Status**: Every form of status hinders Sawk. Poison whittles it down and limits its switches, burns halve Sawk's Attack and cripple it, and paralysis cuts Sawk's speed and renders it useless.

Ok, time to look this over:

[Overview]

- Not exactly bulky. 75 / 75 / 75 defenses aren't exactly amazing (though not god awful either) Note that strong neutral hits are taking a huge chunk out of Sawk's HP
- Sticky Web makes life hell for Sawk.

[Hard Hitter]

- Rename it Choice Band or Wallbreaker
- Life Orb doesn't free up moveslots. It lets Sawk change moves
- Move the 4 HP EVs to either defense so you take less from hazards, Leech Seed, poison, etc.
- Jolly, not Timid
- Sawk is really good at taking out typical Fighting-type responses (Amoonguss, Gligar, Weezing, etc.) so mention double Fighting cores with Hitmonlee, Virizion, Cobalion, etc.
- Spikes users since most of Sawk's checks and counters are grounded, offensive ones preferably. Omastar, Accelgor, and Sash Qwilfish are good for that

[Other Options]

- Add Choice Scarf
- Remove Assault Vest
- Remove Drain Punch. Sawk can't learn it
- Remove Quick Guard
- Remove Pain Split. Sawk is an offensive Pokemon
- Remove Power-Up Punch

[Checks and Counters]

- Mention Moltres. It's the only relevant Flying-type that can actually switch into Sawk with reliability due to its secondary Fire typing making it neutral to Ice Punch
- Braviary needs Choice Scarf to outspeed Sawk
- Speaking of Scarf users, most can revenge Sawk easily, especially after a Close Combat. Rotom-C and Emboar are key ones that lose to it otherwise
- Naturally faster Pokemon. Cobalion, Durant, Jolteon, Heliolisk, Hitmonlee, and Sharpedo can all come in for a revenge kill. Cobalion can even switch-in on Knock Off, Ice Punch, or Poison Jab

Go ahead and make these changes and then I'll give this a 2nd look Bagon.

Couple things

Choice Band should be the only option. While switching moves is cool, honestly 90% of the time you're probably going to be using either Close Combat or Knock Off anyway, so Sawk really doesn't need to be switching its attacks rather than just killing things with either of those two moves.

Ice Punch is pretty much mandatory on Sawk and it should be in its own moveslot. Sawk's main niche over Hitmonlee (bar a better physical bulk) is that it is able to destroy Gligar with Ice Punch while still being able to use its other moves effectively. It shouldn't be slashed with Poison Jab.

Finally, along with what EonX had remove Thunderpunch and Fire Punch from OO. I think every target ever is hit harder or already decimated by one of Sawk's other moves (except Pelipper but that's irrelevant), mainly cause STAB CC outdamages super effective punches.

Alright EonX all implemented.
A few things. I really dont think its fair to say anything faster beats sawk.

252 SpA Choice Specs Heliolisk Thunderbolt vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Sawk: 211-250 (72.5 - 85.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

And sawk can easily retaliate. Also Fletchinder and Moltres are very similar, at least type wise they are the same, but I added moltres too since its bulkier.

Worldtour I really really definitely think Sawk needs Life Orb slashed, as it isnt stuck using one move. Otherwise it would allow things like Weezing and Gligar to switch in on a Close Combat, take virtually no damage, and set up hazards on it, when sawk could be using super effective moves.

Also, a Knock Off/EQ combo with LO KOs Doublade, which it has over a lot of other fighting types. Really support Life Orb.

Thanks for your replies guys!

Stone Edge should get a Moves mention at least; it hits Flying-types harder than Ice Punch and hits the Bug-types that resist Close Combat

Well yeah I guess Stone Edge should stay in OO for now for the reasons you mentioned. I don't know the meta that well so I assumed Stone Edge was better at first

For C&C Alomomola is potentially 2HKOed with Stealth Rock on the field and Weezing can't take 2 EQs so remember to mention that too. I also believe pelipper should be there as it only fears Stone Edge and is getting an analysis
