[OVERVIEW]

  • Sawsbuck has access to a great dual STAB combination, which is only resisted by Steel Types, but access to Jump Kick helps it break through them
  • It has access to two great abilities in Chlorophyll and Sap Sipper, which sets it apart from other Normal and Grass Types in the tier
  • Sits in a good speed tier and has a respectable attack stat
  • Faces competition from other physical Grass Types like Shiftry, which also has access to Chlorophyll and Swords Dance as well as moves like Knock Off and Sucker Punch
  • Worn down very quickly, due to Double-Edge recoil and being susceptible to all forms of hazards
[SET]
name: Swords Dance
move 1: Horn Leech
move 2: Double-Edge / Return
move 3: Swords Dance
move 4: Jump Kick / Baton Pass
item: Life Orb
ability: Chlorophyll
nature: Jolly
evs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

  • Horn Leech is a reliable STAB move that allows it to recover back LO recoil
  • Double-Edge is it's hardest hitting STAB move, but Return can be used if recoil damage is an issue
  • Swords Dance gives it a set up move and puts a lot of pressure on defensive teams
  • Jump Kick allows Sawsbuck to hit steel types like Klinklang or Ferroseed
  • Baton Pass is an alternative over Swords Dance or Jump Kick and it allows Sawsbuck to keep up offensive momentum. It also lets it pass Swords Dance boosts to teammates, in order for them to break through the opposing team.
  • Substitute is an option with Swords Dance in order to set up on bulky walls that can't touch it like Prinplup or Quagsire, while also dodging scald burns and other statuses. Substitute also allows it to play Sucker Pucker mind games with Skuntank and Shiftry

Set Details
========

  • 252 Attack to hit hard
  • 252 Speed to hit stuff hard with or without sun being up
  • Jolly should be the nature of choice, as it allows it to outspeed base 90s such as Lilligant and Zangoose while not in the sun
  • Life Orb is necessary, as Sawsbuck really needs the boost in order to get the guaranteed kill on pokemon like Vileplume and Gurdurr
  • An alternative spread of 144 HP / 248 Atk / 116 Spe and an Adamant Nature in order to outspeed Scarf Scyther while in the sun.
  • Sap Sipper is an alternative ability that allows you to get an attack raise from grass type moves like Sleep Powder and Giga Drain, but it very rarely comes in handy and Sawsbuck should be only ever used on Sun
Usage Tips
========

  • Should be used early game, as it is very easily revenge killed, and it should set up on mons that can't touch it like Quagsire and defensive Rhydon
  • When switching in on certain Grass Types like Lilligant or Vileplume, it should be careful of the coverage they carry like Hidden Power Fire or Sludge Bomb
  • Baton Pass or Swords Dance should be used on obvious switch ins
  • Be careful of Sun turns when it is sent in, as many times it can run out of turns to sweep so planning it out is key to success

Team Options
========

  • If being used on a sun team, it should have team mates that can also use the sun to their advantage, like Victreebel, Exeggutor, and Shiftry
  • Teammates that can also set up the sun, like Regirock, Mesprit, and Liepard help support Sawsbuck and its fellow sun sweepers
  • Fire Types that can break through bulky grass types like Gourgeist and lets Sawsbuck break through teams easier. Fire-types also appreciate the boost to their fire type moves from the sun. This includes pokemon like Magmortar, Pyroar, and Flareon. Fire-types also appreciate Sawsbuck removing bulky Water-types like Lanturn.
  • Psychic Types that can break through mons like Weezing and Vileplume also help out, and they are also able to check fighting types, this includes pokemon like Mesprit and Xatu
  • Bulky Ground Types can also handle Poison types like Skuntank and Garbodor

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

  • Sunny Day
  • Choice Band
  • Choice Scarf
  • Synthesis
  • Aromatherapy
  • Megahorn

Checks and Counters
===================

**Poison Types**: Bulky Poison Types like Weezing are able to eat any hits from Sawsbuck are able to eat hits from Sawsbuck and kill it with its STAB. Even though Garbodor isn't able to take to many hits, it can switch in and force Sawsbuck to kill itself through Double-Edge recoil, Rocky Helmet Damage, and Aftermath.

**Gourgeist**: Gourgeist is immune to Sawsbuck's normal STABs as well as an immunity to Fighting and a resistance to its Grass STAB. Gourgeist meanwhile can burn it with Will-o-wisp and stall it out with Synthesis.

**Priority**: Once it has taken some prior damage, both Mach Punch from Gurdurr and Ice Shard from Piloswine are able to kill Sawsbuck.

**Faster Revenge Killers**: Pokemon like Floatzel, Swellow, and Archeops can come in after a kill or on a slow volt switch or u-turn. However these revenge killers can not remove Sawsbuck if the sun is up.

  • Most Grass Types in the tier have another way to hit Sawsbuck, such as Vileplume with Sludge Bomb, or Lilligant with Hidden Power Fire dont really think this is worth a point tbh. sap sipper is neat and all, but its something you should use to provide switch-ins or make an opponent think twice before clicking giga drain or whatever, youre not gonna be using it as ur grass check

Usage Tips
========

  • Should be used early game, as it is very easily revenge killed, and it should set up on mons that can't touch it like Quagsire and defensive Rhydon i dont understand what you're trying to say here
  • Should be brought in on obvious Grass Moves like Giga Drain from Cradily, or Wood Hammer from Torterra
  • When switching in on certain Grass Types like Lilligant or Vileplume, it should be careful of the coverage they carry like Hidden Power Fire or Sludge Bomb
  • pretty fail, so free switch-ins from a slow u-turn or volt switch is great
  • Baton Pass or Swords Dance should be used on obvious switch ins

Team Options
========

  • Teammates that are weak to grass, and force the opponent to use Grass Type moves is helpful as it gives Sawsbuck a free switch in. This includes mons like Carracosta
  • slow u-turn/bp/volt switch users are great partners because they get buck in safely
  • lanturn in particular has really good synergy with sawsbuck, as it takes advantage of sawsbucks sap sipper, has generally good type synergy with it, and can provide a slow volt-switcham to get sawsbuck inside safely
  • if youre running bp, use it alongside strong physical wallbreakers like archeops or tauros that greatly appreciate a swords dance boost
  • If being used on a sun team, it should have team mates that can also use the sun to their advantage, like Victreebel, Exeggutor, and Shiftry
  • Teammates that can also set up the sun, like Regirock or Liepard help support Sawsbuck and its fellow sun sweepers

i would probably mention "faster attackers" somewhere revenging buck with something faster is how youre gonna get rid of it half the time

I inserted some of what you included, but I'll just address what I didn't include and why:
  • Most Grass Types in the tier have another way to hit Sawsbuck, such as Vileplume with Sludge Bomb, or Lilligant with Hidden Power Fire dont really think this is worth a point tbh. sap sipper is neat and all, but its something you should use to provide switch-ins or make an opponent think twice before clicking giga drain or whatever, youre not gonna be using it as ur grass check
I still think this is important to include since Sap Sipper is one of the main points of using it, and just pointing out the downsides to it is still important
  • pretty fail, so free switch-ins from a slow u-turn or volt switch is great

  • slow u-turn/bp/volt switch users are great partners because they get buck in safely
Not including this because this can really be said about any fast attacker :/
  • Agility (??? no)
Agility Buck while it may seem weird actually does a number against offensive teams who usually rely on RKing it to beat it

thanks for checking it over n_n

  • Substitute is an option with Swords Dance in order to set up on bulky walls that can't touch it like Prinplup or Quagsire mention how it explicitly beats Sucker Punch users. I'd also like a slash for this, I think it's just as useful as Baton Pass because it makes Sawsbuck harder to revenge

  • If being used on a sun team, it should have team mates that can also use the sun to their advantage, like Victreebel, Exeggutor, and Shiftry I don't think this mention is necessarily important.

  • Psychic Types that can break through mons like Weezing and Vileplume also help out, and they are also able to check fighting types examples
also considering Poison-types are its main Check, mention bulky Ground-types that can switch into them

[17:56] Blast Chance: still has a decent enough niche on sun i think, tho it shouldn't rly be used outside of that
[17:56] +boltsandbombers: then the set should reflect that
[17:56] +boltsandbombers: bc atm its sap sipper
[17:58] Blast Chance: ya it should be chloro

I strongly feel that this mons only niche is on sun teams, so please change the set and analysis details to reflect this.

So made chloro the main ability and implemented most of disjunctions stuff.
I don't agree with removing the mentions of other Sun Sweepers in TO, and I just didn't really stress Sap Sipper in overview since Chloro is the main set.

Given that Sap Sipper isn't a main option on the set, remove the mention of it in the overview.

Be sure to note that Substitute prevents it from being crippled by Scald burns, wisped, twaved, etc.

One of the notable draws of Fire-types is that they also break through some problematic mons for Sawsbuck, most notably Gourgeist. They also appreciate Sawsbuck's ability to break through bulky Water-types. Mention Mesprit as a Sun setter as well in team options.

In the fast revenge killers section, clarify that those mons can only revenge kill when Sawsbuck is not under the sun.

I don't think Sawsbuck is anywhere near good enough to run. It's not fast enough to be as weak as it is before boosting. On Sun, I'd rather be using Shiftry as a Swords Dance sweeper.

This mons only place is on sun teams, and I agree that it doesnt have enough of a distinguishable niche to be used seriously.
