cyclops bird

  • Access to reliable recovery and calm mind
  • Base 97 Speed gives it a niche over reuniclus, outruns most defensive pokemon and some offensive pokemon
  • faces competition with other psychic types: meloetta, cresselia, and reuniclus are bulkier, delphox is faster and has similar coverage
  • struggles to break psychic-types such as the aforementioned meloetta

  • if running calm mind, take advantage of its usable bulk and magic guard to set up on passive mons such as alomomola and aromatisse

Team Options
========

  • pangoro can take on some of the dark and psychic types that sigilyph dislikes, and can also switch in on sigilyph's dark weakness. assault vest kecleon falls under a similar vein, but it can switch in on ghost attacks instead.
  • pursuit trappers such as houndoom and escavalier are great partners. escavalier can also threaten some dark types, such as shiftry, with megahorn.
  • grass-types can switch in on sigilyph's electric weakness. virizion can also switch in on its dark weakness as well

Other Options
########

  • thunder wave
  • tailwind
  • focus sash
  • ice beam for mega sceptile, dazzling gleam for dark-types
  • flame orb is garbage
  • especially with cosmic power

Checks & Counters
########

**Dark-types**: Dark-types can switch in on Sigilyph's Psychic STAB and retaliate with a STAB Dark attack. Pangoro can OHKO Sigilyph with Knock Off. Houndoom is a great counter to Sigilyph, as it is immune or resists all of Sigilyph's common attacks. Drapion can hit Sigilyph with a super effective STAB Knock Off and remove its Life Orb. Skuntank and Spiritomb can pursuit trap Sigilyph or hit it with Sucker Punch.

**Psychic-types**: Psychic-types can handle Sigilyph lacking the uncommon Dark Pulse. Reuniclus and Cresselia is able to set up Calm Mind against Sigilyph. However, Reuniclus is 2HKOed by Dark Pulse if unboosted, and Cresselia struggles to beat Sigilyph with Calm Mind. Meloetta is a hard check to Sigilyph, being able to switch in on any move bar Dark Pulse and retaliating with a Shadow Ball.

**Faster Pokemon**: Fast offensive Pokemon such as Jolteon, Heliolisk, and Mega Glalie naturally outspeed and OHKO Sigilyph with their STAB attacks. Choice Scarf users such as Rotom-C and Hitmonlee outspeed and have moves to hit Sigilyph super effectively.

ice beam isn't for druddigon haha, dazzling gleam hits that too

also I feel like you could separate CM and 3 Attacks; they play somewhat differently, in that the former is more passive / a win condition that does prett well vs. stall and the latter is a fast offensibe Psychic-type that does well va. offense w/o a Pursuit trapper, but whatever QC decides :]
