Skill Swap and Slaking

Not sure if this would work:

In a double battle can a team mate use Skill Swap on Slaking? Second part to this would that poke then be able to swap Slaking's skill to your foe?

Has anyone tried this out?

Indeed, this is a very common tactic, since it allows Slaking to overcome Truant and attack every turn. Xatu+Slaking was notoriously common in Advance doubles for this, although there are faster Skill Swappers, Xatu is also immune to Earthquake (Gengar is also and can Skill Swap, but it usually has better things to be doing).

Next time, Simple Question might be a better option.

Gengar's not immune to Earthquake after using Skill Swap, that's for sure.

In general, the problem with using Skill Swap to eliminate Truant is that the Skill Swapper loses its next turn (at least this is how it worked in Advance), so you can't get Truant onto an opponent until round 3. By that time, your Skill Swapper is probably KOed. Also, the opponent can end the effect by switching.

In D/P, you're better off using Gastro Acid to suppress Truant. Don't use Worry Seed, though. It doesn't work on Truant.

EDIT: D/P test completed. Anything that swaps Truant onto itself loses its next turn.
