Alomomola as Counter

God I hate this mon. Usually on stall teams or bulky semi offence teams. Alomomola is a decent counter to CB Zygarde. It eats up moves, and then Wish + Protect stalls moves, causing it to switch out. It also has the potential to either Scald Burn it or Toxic Stall it. Plus, if Zygarde uses Toxic on it, Regenerator can help as well as Wish making Toxic seem like a simple attack from Zygarde. That is all I can think of.

Vs Zygarde
0 SpA Alomomola Scald vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Zygarde: 45-54 (12.5 - 15%) -- possible 7HKO (Just burn the fucker)
0 SpA Alomomola Scald vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Zygarde: 45-54 (12.5 - 15%) -- possible 5HKO after burn damage
Alomomola Toxic vs. Zygarde: 0-0 (0 - 0%) -- nice move (Toxic increases a lot per turn, i.e 6% to 12% to 16% etc)

Vs Alomomomomomommola
252+ Atk Choice Band Zygarde Thousand Arrows vs. 36 HP / 220 Def Alomomola: 190-225 (39.5 - 46.8%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery
252+ Atk Choice Band Zygarde Extreme Speed vs. 36 HP / 220 Def Alomomola: 113-133 (23.5 - 27.7%) -- possible 5HKO after Leftovers recovery
252+ Atk Choice Band Zygarde Iron Tail vs. 36 HP / 220 Def Alomomola: 70-83 (14.5 - 17.2%) -- possible 9HKO after Leftovers recovery
252+ Atk Choice Band Zygarde Outrage vs. 36 HP / 220 Def Alomomola: 253-298 (52.7 - 62%) -- 98.8% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery (PSA: Switch out Alomomola into a fairy type and then switch Alomomola back in)
252+ Atk Choice Band burned Zygarde Thousand Arrows vs. 36 HP / 220 Def Alomomola: 95-112 (19.7 - 23.3%) -- possible 6HKO after Leftovers recovery
252+ Atk Choice Band burned Zygarde Extreme Speed vs. 36 HP / 220 Def Alomomola: 56-66 (11.6 - 13.7%) -- possibly the worst move ever
252+ Atk Choice Band burned Zygarde Iron Tail vs. 36 HP / 220 Def Alomomola: 35-41 (7.2 - 8.5%) -- possibly the worst move ever
252+ Atk Choice Band burned Zygarde Outrage vs. 36 HP / 220 Def Alomomola: 126-149 (26.2 - 31%) -- 8.4% chance to 4HKO after Leftovers recovery

OK, time for voting is up. Thanks for the activity. Winners will be announced later.

Checks: Tapu Lele (Randomnick ) / Greninja (Leooo_33 )
Counters: Mega Scizor(david0895 ) / Tangrowth(Cheryl. )

Our victim for this week is Mega Medicham.

Medicham @ Medichamite
Ability: Pure Power
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Fake Out / Bullet Punch
- High Jump Kick
- Ice Punch
- Zen Headbutt / Thunder Punch

Pure Power doubles Mega Medicham's Attack stat, making it one of the most powerful wallbreakers in the OU tier. Powerful STAB attacks in High Jump Kick and Zen Headbutt in conjunction with solid coverage moves such as Thunder Punch and Ice Punch make Mega Medicham even more challenging to switch into. Mega Medicham's base 100 Speed stat allows it to outpace Heatran, Rotom-W, Tapu Lele, and Landorus-T, among other threatening Pokemon. Mega Medicham also has access to priority moves such as Fake Out and Bullet Punch, which help patch up its only decent Speed stat and allow it to pick off faster offensive Pokemon such as Greninja, Tapu Koko, and Gengar. Mega Medicham's relatively low Speed stat alongside very poor bulk makes it rather easy to revenge kill.

EDIT: Since there's a tie, I will veto Greninja and Tangrowth in over Mamoswine and Mega Slowbro since I feel they are more viable and does the job more reliably.

Reserving Mega Metagross as a check

Metagross-Mega @ Metagrossite
Ability: Tough Claws
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Meteor Mash
- Ice Punch
- Thunder Punch
- Hammer Arm

Arguably the best mon in the tier an near unwallable, giving it a free chance to attack isn't a good idea and it gets worse when you aren't running Mega Scizor because of Medicham using the mga slot. Meteor Mash has a decent chance to ohko from full and is guaranteed after a layer of Spikes. It obviously can't come in on Medicham unless it's on a predicted Ice Punch/Fake Out but it takes advantage of its low and gets free opportunities to attack.

ps: sorry if I tend to take a while to edit my reservations I usually just forget about them ;_; I'll try to get them done as soon as I can in the future

Scarf Tapu Lele as a Check

Tapu Lele @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Psychic Surge
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Psychic
- Moonblast
- Hidden Power Fire
- Shadow Ball / Focus Blast

Even though Scarf Lele has lost some of its shine, it still s a force to be reckoned with, especially against more offensive builds, which M-Medicham is mostly found on. With the added speed from its Choice Scarf, Tapu Lele will always outspeed M-Medicham and OHKO it with Moonblast (or even Psychic after little prior damage (SR) to guarantee the KO). Also, Tapu Lele's greatly softens M-Medicham's HJKs to the point of not being 2HKOed by said move (unless SR is on the field). What's more is that, due to its ability Psychic Surge, Tapu Lele is actually immune to M-Medicham's Fake Out and Bullet Punch, giving it an edge over faster and frailer (or just as frail) threats. However, just like pretty much every other mon, hard-switching into one of M-Medicham's is unadvised, as its coverage moves and Zen Headbutt all 2HKO Tapu Lele, reducing its switching opportunities by a large margin. Oh and Tapu Lele's Psychic Surge also boosts M-Medicham's damage output from Zen Headbutt, so don't let it take advantage of the terrain if it has the opportunity to do so.
252 Atk Pure Power Medicham-Mega High Jump Kick vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Tapu Lele: 111-131 (39.5 - 46.6%) -- 35.5% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock
252 Atk Pure Power Medicham-Mega Ice Punch vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Tapu Lele: 172-203 (61.2 - 72.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 Atk Pure Power Medicham-Mega Zen Headbutt vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Tapu Lele in Psychic Terrain: 206-243 (73.3 - 86.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

252 SpA Tapu Lele Psychic vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Medicham-Mega in Psychic Terrain: 253-298 (96.9 - 114.1%) -- 81.3% chance to OHKO (guaranteed OHKO after SR)
252 SpA Tapu Lele Moonblast vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Medicham-Mega: 356-422 (136.3 - 161.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Gengar as a check

Gengar @ Choice Specs / Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Shadow Ball
- Sludge Wave
- Focus Blast
- Trick / Destiny Bond / Icy Wind

The presence of a Ghost-type on any team will force Medicham to think twice about clicking HJK from fear of giving a free switch and losing his half its health. Gengars Speed tier allows it to outspeed and OHKO Medicham with a strong STAB Shadowball with any of its sets. Furthermore, Gengar is able to survive Jolly elemental punches giving you a little bit of an easier team switching in, and barely avoids the 2HKO from Jolly Bullet Punch meaning Gengar needs to be weakened if Medi wants to kill it. Specs sets capitalize on forcing Medicham out and nuking whatever comes in since Ghost is such a good offensive STAB right now. Scarf sets also have the benefit of outspeeding Tapu Koko, a mon frequently paired with Medi and can clean late game after Gengar weakens its own checks.

Will add sprites calcs and clean it up a little later.

Reserving Mimikyu as a check

Mimikyu @ Life Orb
Ability: Disguise
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Shadow Sneak
- Play Rough
- Shadow Claw

If you need to check something, Mimikyu is most of the times a good answer, thanks to its ability Disguise that gives it a free turn to set up with Swords Dance and then kill the target with Shadow Sneak.
Despite Mimikyu takes a lot of damage from Bullet Punch, this move is not enough to save Mega Medicham from the KO.

+2 252 Atk Life Orb Mimikyu Shadow Sneak vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Medicham-Mega: 304-359 (116.4 - 137.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO

252 Atk Pure Power Medicham-Mega Bullet Punch vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Mimikyu: 176-208 (70.1 - 82.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock

Slowbro-Mega as a counter.

Slowbro @ Slowbronite
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 248 HP / 232 Def / 28 SpD
Bold Nature
- Scald
- Psyshock
- Slack Off
- Calm Mind / Thunder Wave

One of the best counters to MegaMedi in ORAS, Slowbro-Mega is still an awesome answer, now with Electric Terrain it have more problems doing this, but still counters Medicham-Mega easily without Electric Terrain (it also completely blocks this set without Thunder Punch). Always avoiding a 2HKO, after switching in it can just recover itself then try to burn with Scald, paralyse with Thunder Wave or setup Calm Mind, it also can't take a critical hit, so it would always beat Medicham-Mega on 1v1 unless he take full paralyse from Thunder Punch.

252 Atk Pure Power Medicham-Mega Thunder Punch vs. 248 HP / 232+ Def Slowbro-Mega: 130-154 (33 - 39.1%) -- 99.8% chance to 3HKO
252 Atk Pure Power Medicham-Mega Thunder Punch vs. 248 HP / 232+ Def Slowbro-Mega: 130-154 (33 - 39.1%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Stealth Rock
252 Atk Pure Power Medicham-Mega High Jump Kick vs. 248 HP / 232+ Def Slowbro-Mega: 84-99 (21.3 - 25.1%) -- 0% chance to 4HKO

Pinsir-Mega @ Pinsirite
Ability: Aerilate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Return
- Quick Attack
- Close Combat

Mega Pinsir as a check. If Pinsir has already mega evolved, it can switch in on High Jump Kick, Fake Out or Bullet Punch if Stealth Rock isn't up, but it is very risky. So it should be only used to revenge kill Mega Medicham.

252 Atk Pure Power Medicham-Mega High Jump Kick vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Pinsir-Mega: 75-89 (27.6 - 32.8%) -- guaranteed 4HKO
252 Atk Pure Power Medicham-Mega Ice Punch vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Pinsir-Mega: 234-276 (86.3 - 101.8%) -- 12.5% chance to OHKO
252 Atk Pure Power Medicham-Mega Thunder Punch vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Pinsir-Mega: 234-276 (86.3 - 101.8%) -- 12.5% chance to OHKO
252 Atk Pure Power Medicham-Mega Zen Headbutt vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Pinsir-Mega: 186-220 (68.6 - 81.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Cofagrigus as a counter.

Cofagrigus @ Leftovers
Ability: Mummy
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Pain Split
- Will-O-Wisp
- Toxic Spikes
- Hex

Nothing much to say, Cofagrigus can take any of Medicham's hits, negate its Huge Power, and burn it if it tries to attack Cofagrigus, or Cofag can gain momentum by setting up Toxic Spikes (insanely fun to use with Suicune).

252+ Atk Pure Power Medicham-Mega Zen Headbutt vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Cofagrigus: 133-157 (41.5 - 49%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery

252+ Atk Pure Power Medicham-Mega Thunder Punch vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Cofagrigus in Electric Terrain: 124-147 (38.7 - 45.9%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery
