We're back, folks! As you'll recall, Shockstrike fell in the last round, and Mindstrike has returned to take his place. Normally the Gallade would be going first, but Orwell's light frame gives it the speed advantage, and it starts the round by raking its nemesis with Metal Claws! Deciding that an energy KO would be the best choice of action here, Mindstrike slings a barrage of Taunts at his foe, forcing the Metagross to attack, attack, attack!

Of course, trying to hold out with light attacks might not be a bad idea for Orwell, as it lets loose a Confusing barrage of psychic energy, knocking Mindstrike off balance, though not enough to prevent the Gallade from delivering a Low Kick underneath Orwell's considerable bulk. Unfortunately, this leaves Flamestrike's Gallade even dizzier than before, so much that he trips and falls - giving Orwell another chance to hack at him with Metal Claws again!

The Brits dealt some considerable damage, but Orwell's running on fumes now. Can the Metagross survive the next round? Find out after the break!

Round 9: Mirror Match

We're back, folks! Deciding that he'd rather have Orwell live to fight another day, Alch switches it out for a Gallade of his own named Shakespeare!

Despite this turning into something of a mirror match, the old playwright has the speed advantage, slinging very un-Galladelike Taunts at his nemesis. Royally pissed, Mindstrike delivers more beheadings than a guillotine a Psycho Cut his way, shearing off a decent amount of damage. Seeing his initial plans working out, Shakespeare takes his cue and rushes at Mindstrike, slicing him with an Aerial Ace, but not without taking a Shadow Ball to the face. Clearly having enough of this, both Gallades sling a Psycho Cut at the same time, but as they collide, Shakespeare's manages to overpower Mindstrike's. Both of them hit; It's just that Flamestrike did less damage.

We're back, folks! Alch has just swapped Shakespeare out to bring Orwell back, who lumbers up to Shadowstrike and drops an Ice Punch on its face. The Golurk responds by stomping its feet, generating an Earthquake. Orwell's still exhausted from its previous efforts, and takes a moment to Chill off some of that fatigue lest it claim the Metagross.

...Only to have Shadowstrike claim it instead, completely wrecking the titan with an Earthshaker.
