Playing mncmt Sunday at 2pm, very excited to play given his insane SV track record in SPL. HF bro

Some predicts/highlights:

SV OU: Rubyblood vs xavgb -- Two of the best players from the last iteration of SV OU. This metagame is very different and the sample size is very limited, so it is hard to draw many conclusions yet. I am not going to judge Ruby off of a one-off endgame or xavgb off of a debut into another very strong opponent. I am mostly excited to see what teams are brought honestly as both tend to be solid there. Going with xavgb because seeing him at 0-2 would be a big shock with his track record, but honestly anything can happen in this metagame. Ruby is plenty capable and I have liked his teams thus far. Same goes for most of the Tyrants OU, who have managed to stay a little ahead of the curve so far.

BW OU: SoulWind vs Fakes -- Both seem locked in so far with SW being 3-0 and Fakes 2-1. I do think this is the week SW deviates from the bulkier stuff he used the last two weeks as Fakes will come prepared, but I am not quite sure what that will look like or how Fakes will account for it all. The metagame is kind of in a weird spot right now and it's nice watching from afar while guys of this caliber duke it out. Gotta bold SW vs everyone (aside from maybe dice) given his start until given strong reason to believe otherwise, but Fakes is someone capable of beating him for sure.

SV OU: Garay oak vs Xrn -- Not the dream start for either player and I know Xrn does not like the metagame (and who can blame him -- there's so much to account for), but both players are really phenomenal overall. Garay's resume speaks for itself with crazy runs in lower tiers, old gens, etc. while Xrn was among the best players in all of 2023! I think he is going to bounce back in a big way against a really strong opponent from a really strong Tigers team, but will be close.

ADV OU: M Dragon vs SEA -- I really love SEA's teams; the Electrode into robjr was really cool, especially considering it ended up a winner. She's approaching must-watch territory as someone who is enthused with ADV trends and ideas from the outside of that community looking in. And then there's M Dragon, who has been an absolute assassin in his two weeks of playing. Two perfect team decisions with the exact execution needed to secure wins; this has been one of the most impressive displays in the tournament so far. I am excited to see him keep going and find it hard to predict against him, but maybe SEA will keep him guessing.

SV OU: kumiko vs zioziotrip -- Both players are 3-0 and have styles that are at their best in newer, more hectic metagames. I think that we will see really cool teams from both given this, but I do value kumiko's experience and ability to pull out some wild wins. zio could easily win against anyone in this pool and I think public sentiment does not pick up on how close this guy is to being a real top player (hopefully this SPL will help), but I gotta side with kumiko for now just based off of gut. Hopefully no Alomomola in this battle.

RBY OU: Serpi vs ABR -- Two awesome players who show passion about this generation. Serpi been doing it for longer here specifically, but just a big highlight series overall.

SV OU: crying vs Punny -- Both use cool teams for different reasons. crying is the most innovative single player in SPL, making their games some of the most amusing each week. Punny is super crafty, too. I think they are capable of using offense that is a little ahead of the metagame curve, compressing match-up coverage nicely, but also it is possible to see Punny stick with his comfortable balances that can farm unprepared opponents. In a kinda voltile tier like this, it is anyone's guess as to what it specifically will be, but Punny is very hard to predict against imo. Exciting game all around.

SM OU: GeniusX vs PZZ - Amazing seeing two players with long histories as draft playes fighting for SPL. I think both are awesome and have long, positive futures if they keep pushing. GeniusX makes some insane reads, but also may get lost in the sauce. I am excited to see him keep going, but I do think PZZ's offensive teams and piloting can be really strong. Leaning PZZ given that, but should be tight.

ORAS OU: CrashinBoomBang vs pj - Bo1 for this game is cool because I think it can lead to some fun team choices from both. CBB is having his weakest season yet so lot of pressure on him to turn things around. pj has been better than expected (in terms of community expectations, bro got ranked 7th!!) and has been a bit more versatile with his team choices than I was expecting. Should just be a pretty strong show here.

SM OU: S1nn0hC0nfirm3d vs Welli0u - Both players honestly put on a master-class showing last week. S1nnoh showed us how to finesse out of a bad matchup with a few good reads and keeping your opponent's opportunities down. Welli0u showed us what experience vs inexperience in a solid matchup should look like -- no errors at all and never gave GeniusX even an inch of wiggle room. Probably no reinventing of the wheel team-pick wise this week (unless...?) but both players are gamin' really nicely.

SV OU: tko vs Fogbound Lake - This is now the second OU sub-in from the Sharks so things must be feeling pretty dire for them. I don't personally know anything about tko's game at CG OU so it'll be interesting to see what kind of a spin he takes. Fog on the other hand is one of maybe 3-4 players this SPL I could not believe starting 0-3. I think both players should be happy with the opponent they pulled. From tko's perspective, he has a tilting Fog off his game. From Fog's perspective, he gets the rookie sub as a chance to bounce back his confidence with a straight forward win. Makes it interesting to me.

SM OU: Zaza vs Skypenguin - Zaza has been really good so far albeit REALLLYYY boring with the team choices. He's here to win though and that's what matters. Skype started off rough but had a really great bounce back game last week -- specifically loved the team choice from him too. Just feels to me like a game between two players who could both make a claim for being the best SM builders in the field right now. Not a ton else to say.

ADV OU: BIHI vs Conflict - Bihi's game has been solid and he really looks like someone that could pass for an ADV mainer these days. Conflict has been having a career-high start to the tournament so far -- I do think bihi will be his first major challenge to that just based on the opponents so far. Should be good gaming from both. Not much to say on team selections but I like how hard conflict goes when he does innovate, specifically in ADV

I called Ardorin washed and he took offense to that. Are we seeing the rebirth of peak Dragon? probably and hopefully. But now that I say this I think he might lose. Reverse psychology brain thing
