Hello Smogon, its your favorite Fetus, who hasn't contributed in over 6 months and is here to bring you (hopefully) the most brainless team ever. If you aren't familiar with the prophet SMOrc and Hearthstone in general, I highly recommend watching the above video at least once to get a feel of what face is and how to kill it. Basically, the premise of the team is repeatedly slam your face into your Crunch/Steam Eruption/Close Combat button, and hope that SMOrc will be pleased with your no trade go face mindset and will bless you with flinches and crits.

The team started with a dual Water core i came up with, Bloom Doom Volcanion and Megapedo. The idea was to have 2 wallbreakers that complemented each other, Volcanion being able to lure in bulky Water types that Megapedo struggled with, and Megapedo being able to, in general, eliminate special tanks that hindered Volcanion. Volcanion also let Megapedo forgo Waterfall, which catches a lot of players off guard and makes it harder to wall. After messing around with it a bit, however, I decided to change Volcanion to specs and use HP Grass instead of Solarbeam, as it was more consistent and Volcanion did more damage overall. Also, using a lure set in a SMOrc team didn't fit right with me.

The the standing team was weak to electrics, as well as being prone to fast special attackers such as scarf Chandelure, so I decided to add AV Goodra to the team. With AV, Goodra becomes the bulkiest special tank in the tier (aside Blissey) and, unlike Blissey, actually has offensive presence with good coverage and a workable special attack stat.

With Goodra on the team, Fairys became a nuisance, and I needed some form of priority as well as physical bulk. At first, I chose Scizor, but he consistently became setup bait for Fighting types such as Infernape. So I turned to Metagross, a solid bulky mon with a wide number of resistances. It also has the added bonus of being covered nicely by the team, as Megapedo handles Ghosts while Volcanion destroys Fire and Ground types.

Looking at the team, the thing that stood out the most was the lack of speed, as the only mon that beats the 100 base teir is Megapedo, and since it's reliant on Protect, it can be easily played around. I decided that Crobat would be a nice fit as a reliable bulky defogger that can act as a pivot, a hazard controller, and a decent check to Keldeo all in one.

Finally, I realized bulky Waters and stall in general could pose a problem, and I noticed Terrakion recently entered the UU teir, so I decided to recruit him to the face cause. Great attack, great speed tier, and an awesome dual STAB that hits basically the entire tier neutrally. Before Terrakion, I was messing a bit with Heracross as it only got stronger from burns, but my team was already slow enough as it was, and I have to say, I don't regret adding Terrakion.

TEAM PREVIEW

Volcanion @ Choice Specs
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Steam Eruption
- Fire Blast
- Sludge Bomb/Earth Power
- Hidden Power Grass

Part 1 of 2 of the core this team is build around, specs Volcanion is the premier special powerhouse that needs virtually no prediction. If you don't know how to play face Volcanion, the quickest way is to find your Steam Eruption button and click it. Trust me, more often than not, that is how you win. SMOrc calls for simple sets; when making this set I did my best to make it as boring as possible. Mega Scald is the main reason to use Volcanion, Fire Blast hits the stupid Grass types that reject SMOrc and don't die to Mega Scald, HP Grass is used to hit those pesky Waters (namely swampert) that somehow refuse to die to either Fire Blast or Mega Scald and the last slot can be used for hitting Clefable or other Volcanion; it's up to preference. EVs are to outspeed and hit face as hard as you can.

Sharpedo @ Sharpedonite
Ability: Speed Boost
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Protect
- Crunch
- Ice Fang
- Psychic Fangs

Completing the face core, Megapedo is a mon I've used in every SM UU team without fail. It's ability to outspeed and hit ridiculously hard is near unparalleled, which is why it seemed almost a necessity to the team. I feel most people underestimate the sheer power of Crunch, as it can hit face just as hard as Mega Scald. It can 2HKO most of the unresisted metagame, and with coverage in the form of Ice Fang and Psychic Fangs, it'll take seriously dedicated physical walls and/or Fairys to stop it. Protect is to gather a Speed Boost prior to Mega Evolving, letting it clean late-game, and even though it's extremely predictable, the positives outweigh the negatives. Crunch is the physical version of Mega Scald, making a meal of anything that doesn't resist it, Ice Fang is for Ground and Dragons such as Gliscor and Hydreigon, and Psychic Fangs provides great coverage against Fighting and Poisons like Amoonguss, Keldeo, the new Terrakion, and Crobat. EVs are again designed to hit face as hard and fast as possible.

Goodra @ Assault Vest
Ability: Sap Sipper
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SpA / 8 SpD
Modest Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Fire Blast
- Sludge Bomb/Ice Beam/Dragon Tail
- Thunderbolt/ Ice Beam

The premier offensive special tank that still has face-threatening presence, AV Goodra complements the team by being a solid answer to Electrics, Celebi and other Grass types, and just special attacks in general, being able to tank absurd hits like Draco Meteor from Hydreigon and Hyper Voice from specs Sylveon. Even if not boosted by specs like other sets, its Draco Meteor still hits like a truck, and Fire Blast deals heavy damage too. Thanks to its enormous movepool, the last two slots are up for preference, with Sludge Bomb scaring Fairys, Dragon Tail to phaze set up sweepers like Raikou, Ice Beam for bulky Grounds like Hippowdon, and Thunderbolt to smack Waters. The EVs are set to max power and bulk while taking minimum from rocks.

Metagross @ Assault Vest
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Meteor Mash
- Bullet Punch
- Zen Headbutt
- Hammer Arm

Here we have the four armed, four brained, four attacks Metagross! AV Metagross capitalizes on its natural bulk while still breaking heads like nobody's business. Now, I know having 2 AV users on a team seems weird, especially when you could be running rocks to help Megapedo and Co. go face. And while it's true, in a fair amount of matches I play I miss having rocks, I feel like AV is actually more usefull overall. With AV, Metagross can withstand attacks like Hydreigon's Dark Pulse and Infernape's Fire Blast and bop em with Hammer Arm and Zen Headbutt, respectively. I suppose the main reason I'm reluctant to give up AV is that it can tank a hit from and eliminate threats such as the before mentioned mons that could otherwise pose problematic.

Crobat @ Black Sludge
Ability: Infiltrator
EVs: 248 HP / 48 Def / 212 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Brave Bird
- U-turn
- Defog
- Roost

Crobat has been a UU staple for a while, and even though it faces competition from Gliscor as the best bat in UU, a better speed tier and ability to revenge kill Terrakion made it more appealing. Crobat has an awesome speed tier, something that would even impress Batman, as well as good bulk and a good attack. It's Poison/Flying typing gives the team an excellent switch-in to Fighting attacks directed at Goodra, Volcanion and the like. It also gives hazard control and a pivot move, which is greatly appreciated by the rest of the team. The set is centered around praying to SMOrc and assisting the team in going face, with its face basher in Brave Bird. (For a better explanation go to the SmogDex XY and look at Utility Bat; I never said I was original)

Terrakion @ Fightinium Z
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Close Combat
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake

Last but not least, we have the newest addition to the UU tier, Terrakion. Great attack, great speed and a SMOrc-like face lets Terrakion be the terrifying wallbreaker it once was back in ORAS OU (Then the chode triplet got 20 more attack and now it's UU :pensive:). A SD set with Fightinium Z sounded extremely appealing to break past stall, stop Knock Off spam in its tracks, and make Cobalion's own Fightinium Z set commit social suicide. It's SMOrc-like features say a lot; you will be going face with this thing. SD to make it even more of a threat, All-Out Pummeling to remove a bulky Water of your choice, Stone Edge and Close Combat provide amazing coverage, and Earthquake rounding it off, hitting Doublade and providing a risk-free attack to finish off enemies.

Status: Burns and Paralysis single-handedly stop my 2 physical powerhouses, allowing the team to be overwhelmed or worn down to the point where you can't do anything. Toxic is less of a problem as it doesn't cut a stat in half, but it severely cuts the staying power of Goodra and Volcanion.

As far as I can tell, there is no direct check to the team as a whole, but lack of reliable recovery on my tanks lead to them being worn down, which leads to a probable loss.

Then again, I've been on Smogon for about a year and I still haven't passed 1500 on the UU ladder, but I guess that's why I'm doing this RMT right?

IN CONCLUSION: If you believe in the face, you won't be making misplays- SMOrc

Why would you hold a berry when you could go face smh

Although if I had to choose, Iapapapapapapappa is fun to type and is thicc af, so i guess I'm going with that one

EDIT: I forgot the importable :pensive:
