Thanks to its good defensive typing and ability, Snubbull is able to function as an excellent pivot on offensive teams. Although it is inevitably compared to Spritzee as a bulky Fairy-type, its wonderful movepool, both offensively and defensively, combined with its high damage output, allows it to simultaneously support its own team and threaten the opposition. In particular, Snubbull carves itself a niche as one of the tier's premier Fighting-type checks, provided they lack Poison-type coverage moves; it is also able to function as an effective Knock Off absorber for teams that need one. Snubbull's greatest weakness is that it lacks reliable recovery unless it runs Rest and Sleep Talk, which carry their own disadvantages.

Berry Juice Support
########
name: Berry Juice
move 1: Thief
move 2: Play Rough
move 3: Earthquake
move 4: Thunder Wave / Heal Bell
ability: Intimidate
item: Berry Juice
evs: 36 HP / 196 Atk / 36 Def / 116 SpD / 116 Spe
nature: Adamant

Moves
========

Thief allows Snubbull to steal an item once its Berry Juice has been used up or Knocked Off, acting as a pseudo Knock Off. Play Rough is a reliable and powerful STAB move that provides good neutral coverage alongside Earthquake, which most notably hits Magnemite and Pawniard. Close Combat is another possible coverage move that can OHKO Pawniard and hit Ferroseed hard, but it reduces Snubbull's staying power and leaves it walled by Poison-types. Thunder Wave is a good support move that cripples a variety of switch-ins and helps slower teammates attempt a sweep. Heal Bell is another useful support move that allows the rest of the team to more freely absorb status moves while Snubbull is still healthy.

Set Details
========

This set aims to support the team while maintaining a good offensive presence. The given EVs and nature maximize Snubbull's damage output and boost both its defenses so Snubbull can better take both physical and special neutral attacks. Hitting 11 Speed lets Snubbull reliably check Poison Jab Timburr, outspeed and thus 2HKO Skrelp on the switch with Earthquake, and Speed tie with Pancham.

Usage Tips
========

Switch Snubbull in on a foe it forces out and use the appropriate attack to hit the switch-in. Try to use Thief on a foe that doesn't want to lose its item, such as Eviolite Porygon. Thanks to Intimidate, a low-health Snubbull is a good Pokemon to use as fodder against physical attackers; however, do not attempt this against Defiant Pawniard, because Intimidate will activate Defiant. Heal Bell is best used when Snubbull or one of its teammates is affected by status.

Team Options
========

Snubbull pairs well with Pokemon that appreciate a check to Fighting-types, such as Porygon; offensive Steel-types in general, including Magnemite and Pawniard, have good type synergy with Snubbull. Ponyta is able to reliably check Pawniard, Foongus, and Ferroseed, three Pokemon that Snubbull thoroughly dislikes. Hidden Power Fire Gothita is able to trap and eliminate Foongus and Ferroseed; similarly, Diglett can trap and deal with specific troublesome Poison- and Steel-types.

Eviolite Support
########
name: Eviolite
move 1: Play Rough
move 2: Earthquake
move 3: Thunder Wave
move 4: Heal Bell / Bulk Up
ability: Intimidate
item: Eviolite
evs: 36 HP / 196 Atk / 36 Def / 116 SpD / 116 Spe
nature: Adamant

Moves
========

Play Rough is Snubbull's STAB move of choice, dealing decent damage to Pokemon that do not resist it. Earthquake synergizes well with Play Rough, covering all three types that resist Fairy. Thunder Wave is a useful support move to cripple key threats and benefit slower Pokemon on Snubbull's team, including Snubbull itself, while Heal Bell can also help support the team. Bulk Up gives Snubbull the boost in damage needed to break through physically bulky Pokemon that could otherwise wall it.

Set Details
========

The EVs allow Snubbull to heavily damage most switch-ins and outspeed two important threats in Timburr and Skrelp, as well as Speed tie with Pancham. Leftover EVs are put in both defenses so Snubbull can hit Eviolite numbers to better take both physical and special attacks. A more defensive spread of 36 HP / 36 Atk / 196 Def / 196 SpD / 36 Spe is also an option if even more bulk is desired. Eviolite gives this set a good amount of initial bulk, allowing it to take advantage of Wish support and survive many otherwise fatal attacks.

Usage Tips
========

Switch Snubbull in on a Pokemon it is able to beat and try to hit whatever the opponent switches to. Due to Snubbull's lack of recovery outside of external support, mistakes it makes are slightly more punishable, so except against specific enemies, Thunder Wave is often the safest opening move. If Wish support is not available, a low-health Snubbull can be sacrificed to temporarily weaken physical attackers except for Pawniard, which will take advantage of Intimidate with Defiant. Heal Bell is to be used if Snubbull or a teammate is affected by a status condition. Defensive Pokemon such Spritzee and Porygon are common switch-ins to Snubbull and are good opportunities to set up Bulk Up. Utilizing Thunder Wave early in the match will make it easier to sweep with Bulk Up later.

Team Options
========

Any Pokemon that dislikes Fighting-types will appreciate Snubbull as a teammate; Lickitung in particular can pass Snubbull large Wishes to keep it healthy. Steel-types such as Pawniard and Ferroseed also appreciate Snubbull's ability to check Fighting-types, while they deal with Poison- and Fairy-types. Ponyta checks Pawniard, Ferroseed, and Foongus, while Gothita can most notably trap Foongus, Croagunk, and, if Gothita is running Hidden Power Fire, Ferroseed.

RestTalk
########
name: Rest + Sleep Talk
move 1: Rest
move 2: Sleep Talk
move 3: Play Rough
move 4: Earthquake
ability: Intimidate
item: Eviolite
evs: 36 HP / 36 Atk / 196 Def / 196 SpD / 36 Spe
nature: Careful

Moves
========

A combination of Rest and Sleep Talk allows Snubbull to reliably and repeatedly recover its health; Rest heals off any damage or status Snubbull has accumulated, while Sleep Talk ensures that Snubbull continues to pose as a threat even when asleep. Play Rough and Earthquake are good offensive moves, being Snubbull's STAB and coverage moves, respectively. Heal Bell can be used over Earthquake to support the team, and can wake Snubbull up a turn earlier if picked by Sleep Talk; however, the coverage will be sorely missed.

Set Details
========

The given EVs and nature allow Snubbull to hit Eviolite numbers and 23 / 21 / 21 bulk after Eviolite, letting it avoid the OHKO from all but extremely powerful super effective attacks. The remaining EVs are filler; 23 HP is maintained so that Snubbull only takes 2 damage from Stealth Rock. Eviolite is the item of choice for increased bulk, since Snubbull already has a method of recovery with this set.

Usage Tips
========

Switch Snubbull in on Pokemon that do not threaten it and hit the switch-in or use Rest if Snubbull's health is getting low. This set plays like a typical wall, coming in on threats that cannot hurt it significantly and whittling them down.

Team Options
========

Snubbull pairs well with Pokemon that appreciate a check to Fighting-types, such as Porygon, Ferroseed, and defensive Steel-types in general. Lickitung in particular can wake a sleeping Snubbull with Heal Bell support. Ponyta is able to reliably check Pawniard, Foongus and Ferroseed, three Pokemon that Snubbull can't handle well.

Other Options
########

Crunch OHKOes Gastly and deals more damage to Pumpkaboo formes than Snubbull's other attacks do; both Ghost-types are able to easily take on all common offensive moves Snubbull carries. Fire Punch damages Steel-types and is Snubbull's most powerful option against Ferroseed and Foongus, but Earthquake hits a greater variety of targets. Superpower can be used over Close Combat, but it reduces Snubbull's staying power by even more. Bulldoze, despite its useful Speed-lowering effect, is too weak to be effectively used as a coverage move. Snubbull's enormous special movepool is offset by its awful Special Attack stat.

Checks and Counters
########

**Pokemon That Resist Fairy**: Various Steel-, Fire-, and Poison-types are able to switch into Play Rough, but may struggle to absorb Snubbull's coverage moves. Foongus is able to almost entirely wall Snubbull and does not mind Thunder Wave, due to its already low Speed; furthermore, Regenerator allows Foongus to effortlessly check Snubbull throughout the match. Koffing does not pack Regenerator, so it can be worn down, but otherwise walls Snubbull completely. Ferroseed will not enjoy taking some of Snubbull's rarer coverage moves, but can generally withstand Snubbull's assaults fairly easily and set up hazards or hit back hard. Gastly dislikes Thunder Wave and Thief, but it is able to OHKO all Snubbull sets with Life Orb Sludge Bomb if it gets into play safely.

**Pawniard**: Although it dislikes switching into Snubbull's powerful attacks, Pawniard is able to take advantage of Snubbull's Intimidate to activate Defiant, allowing Pawniard to OHKO Snubbull and severely threaten the rest of its team with some smart switches.

**Walls**: Extremely physically bulky Pokemon such as Spritzee, Porygon, and Hippopotas are able to stall most variants of Snubbull out, although they will lose if Snubbull is a RestTalk variant and they are unable to 3HKO it or if Snubbull is running Bulk Up.

Pls fix the EV spreads
I imagine you were planning on doing this anyway, but don't just straight c/p sentences about one set to another. Rephrase and try to include what the specific set adds to it.

Eviolite Support:
Moves:
I don't think you're supposed to have cross set referencing. Transfer the point about its niche over the Berry Juice set to Set Details and talk specifically about why one would use this set, without mentioning the other.

Usage Tips: Seems obvious, but I think you should include to use Heal Bell when Snubbull or its teammates get hit with status.

Resttalk: Looks good enough to me to warrant its own set, but I don't have much experience with Snubbull.

Usage Tips: Rephrase to say this set is used as a typical Wall and include things about that without touching upon other sets.

Other Options: State why its important to OHKO Gastly (One of the few mons to resist Play Rough and Earthquake)

Checks & Counters: Although it's not very relevant, Koffing easily walls every Snubbull set ever and I think it should be mentioned specifically somewhere, whether you give it its own section or include it under Fairy resists or Walls.

Nicely done QC 1/3

Emphasize Snubbull's ability to check Fighting-types a little more in the overview; barring Croagunk, Snubbull switches in on them all.

I'm seconding the Rest-Talk set, Snubbull is pretty much perfectly suited for one with its ability, bulk and perfect coverage.

Well written, QC 2/3

Put emphasis on Snubbull being one of the best knock off absorbers in the tier.

Heal bell is probably most effective on the restalk set as you can use it to skip a turn of sleep with sleep talk yet gets slashed on the other two sets but not it?

"- Heal Bell is best used when Snubbull or one of its teammates is affected by status" is this not too obvious?

The rest is well written. Good job.

I added absorbing Knock Off to the Overview. I also added a mention of Heal Bell in the moves section of the RestTalk set, although I do not think it is worth a slash because Earthquake is drastically more useful overall given the most common switch-ins to Snubbull; the other sets have Heal Bell because they have the free moveslots.
Thanks

When you discuss Snubbull's 11 Speed, note that that ties with Pancham who would otherwise safely Parting Shot out or finish off weakened Snubbull with Gunk Shot.

Add Gastly to Checks and Counters. LO Sludge Bomb OHKOes every set, even the RestTalk set, 100% of the time without hazards, thus forcing out Snubbull if Gastly gets in for free. It hates Thunder Wave, but can switch in on any other move if its feeling gutsy, or just come in after something dies.

This is very good! QC 3/3

The Team Options in general are pretty short. Some things you could add are Diglett to trap fairy resists, mentioning Snubbull's good synergy with Steel-types in general, Ponyta beats a ton of its checks, etc.

Eviolite Support Usage Tips:
Maybe give some Pokemon to set up Bulk Up on.

RestTalk moves: In Overview you said Snubbull lacks reliable recovery and then say that RestTalk allows it to reliably recover here. I'd just rephrase a little bit.

Other Options: 2nd sentence: Pumpkaboo doesn't resist Play Rough.

Checks and Counters:
Any reason the first two sections aren't put together?

QC 4/4

Placeheldor

Dear lord the first 2 sets are similar (different item and 1 diff move really, slightly diff slashes), are you really telling me they couldn't be combined?

The minor differences in the sets also mean they play slightly differently and fit on slightly different teams. The Berry Juice set is to be used on hyper offensive teams which often just utilize a few blanket checks and focus more on revenge-killing, and is designed to focus less on staying alive and more on disrupting the opposing team as much as possible while on the field. The Eviolite set fits onto more bulky offensive teams which will often carry Wish support to help Snubbull stick around; here, Eviolite allowing Snubbull to avoid key OHKOs is much more useful than how it would be on hyper offensive teams and their greater emphasis on revenge-killing. I didn't explicitly state this because all three Snubbull sets can be used somewhat interchangeably on pretty much all teams, along with Spritzee and Cottonee, but the variations in the Team Options sections, slight as they are, were designed to reflect this. You're right that the two sets have many similarities, but I felt that the differences in their playstyles and sets themselves were enough to warrant two separate sets to highlight these.

Sorry if I'm not making sense; I'm tired and I'm still waiting for QC checks for another analysis

You made a lot of sense, but i'd like to argue the other side.

Firstly, the two sets have a difference of 1 item and 1 move that goes with it, as well as minor slashes for moves already on both sets and 1 moves mention; same EVs, same nature, mostly same moves. Many smogon sets already have 2 items and 1 move that goes with either; also, many LC sets have Eviolite and Berry Juice slashed. I feel the set would look like this:

Support
########
name: Support
move 1: Thief / Heal Bell / Bulk Up
move 2: Play Rough
move 3: Earthquake
move 4: Thunder Wave / Heal Bell
ability: Intimidate
item: Berry Juice / Eviolite
evs: 36 HP / 196 Atk / 36 Def / 116 SpD / 116 Spe
nature: Adamant

The original set has Thief and T-wave / heal bell; if you use Eviolite, you have either Heal Bell or Bulk Up plus Thunder Wave, which is what the Eviolite set was already. Only problem is you could have Bulk Up + Heal Bell, which is unfortunate but other than that the slashes are untouched and you can easily explain it's BU+T-wave (is BU+heal bell even that bad of an idea?). Anyhow, this isn't *that* complex (like above average complexity IMO).

So, now for the why. Firstly, do the two sets play similarly and have similar teammates? Let's ask the analysis!
Usage Tips:

Berry Juice:
Switch in on something Snubbull forces out and use the appropriate attack to hit the switch-in.

Eviolite:
Come in on something Snubbull is able to beat and try to hit whatever the opponent switches to.

Hmm.

Berry Juice:
A low health Snubbull can, with Intimidate, be used as fodder against physical attackers; however, do not attempt this against Defiant Pawniard.

Eviolite:
A low health Snubbull can be sacrificed to temporarily weaken physical attackers excluding Defiant Pawniard.

Berry Juice:
Heal Bell is best used when Snubbull or one of its teammates is affected by status

Eviolite:
Heal Bell is to be used if Snubbull or a teammate is affected by a detrimental status condition.

Outside of that, it's 1 sentence about Thief and 1 about Bulk Up for Berry Juice and Eviolite respectively. Go look at the paragraphs for yourself if you want, you'll find this is pretty much true

Team Options:

Berry Juice:
Snubbull pairs well with Pokemon that appreciate a check to Fighting-types, such as Porygon or Pawniard

Eviolite: Any Pokemon that dislikes Fighting-types will appreciate Snubbull as a teammate; Lickitung in particular can pass Snubbull large Wishes to keep Snubbull healthy.

The most significant difference and it's not a huge one either.

Berry Juice:
;Steel-types in general have good type synergy with Snubbull.

Eviolite:
Steel-types also appreciate Snubbull's ability to check Fighting-types, while dealing with Poison- and Fairy-types.

Pretty similar; eviolite's sentence just explains the type synergy.

Berry Juice:Ponyta is able to reliably check Pawniard, Foongus and Ferroseed, three Pokemon that Snubbull thoroughly dislikes.

Eviolite: Ponyta checks Pawniard, Ferroseed, and Foongus

Berry Juice explains Snubbull dislikes them but other than that, same stuff

Berry Juice:
Hidden Power Fire Gothita is able to trap and eliminate Foongus and Ferroseed. Similarly, Diglett can trap and deal with specific troublesome Poison- and Steel-types.

Eviolite:
, while Diglett and Gothita trap certain Poison- and Steel-types.

Overall a few differences with one set being more elaborate but outside of that, just 1 major difference being Porygon and Pawniard Vs. Lickitung. That is the big one, i.e. wishpassing versus offensive presence, but still-not that huge.

Whew! Well, that was long (if you want to take my word for it:they're really similar with small differences)

Now then: do the sets fit on similar teams?

corporal levi said:

Not to out-of-context you; ( I hope I didn't just use your tiredness against you D:) yes, as anyone can see in your post right above mine and quoted in mine, there are some differences. That said though, those differences don't really seem pronounced enough that the sets play so differently; mostly the differences haven't stopped other analyses from making them into one set, and don't forget that you have Usage Tips and Team Options, which are the perfect platforms to elaborate further (not calling them out for being short, but they're short enough you easily have enough room to do so)

Overall not combining the sets is a legitimate viewpoint and i'm fine either way, but let's have some serious consideration here-this is well within precedent and makes a lot of sense.

Edit:
@please vm me dick pics and i will reciprocate

Hey there; considering the above post, I don't think my opinion is laughable to the level that a one-word response is anything close to justified. I invite you to have reasonable, mature arguments with me any time, and in any way (to clarify:curse words, for example, are no impediment, and I wouldn't call you immature for using them, but a strawman might theoretically cause me to do so), including in VM, PM, anywhere.

Corporal Levi

sorry to double post, but this amcheck seems like a really good reason to do so. Enjoy (and read all the comments, they're important and shit)
Comments:

Overview: I feel that what you wrote about its advantages is honestly enough that you don't have to spell out that its advantages help it.

Berry Juice Moves: The first sentence looks like something that should go in Set Details (or maybe even Usage Tips), not Moves.

Berry Juice Set Details: So I moved the defenses sentence, look it over and see if you think it looks good. Also, 11 Speed doesn't necessarily mean anything about 2HKOing on the switch-in, so I added 'outspeed and thus'.

Eviolite set details: Hey, so the last sentence references the BJ set, which you're not supposed to do (if the BJ set became unviable and was removed, or someone didn't read the set first, which is very possible, then it would look confusing). With my edit though, it explains the difference very well while also not looking too out of place otherwise and doubling as the item sentence, which is cool.

Restalk Moves: Firstly, you can't say a lack of something will be sorely missed (well, you could, it just double-negatives its way into stupid meanings which weren't what you intended). I felt saying 'lack of a coverage move' was kind of indirect, why not just say earthquake? But then I realised, because what you'll really miss is the coverage, so I thought it'd be better to just say that. That part is a nitpick though so if you disagree idc.

Restalk Set Details: I mean, not to be a dick, but it's pretty obvious that if you're only taking 2 damage, it's because you're not taking 3 damage, right?

Other Options: I really hate sentences like your first sentence here. The whole point of Other Options is that it's for less viable things, so it's kind of a given that the moves are not as consistently useful.

Checks and Counters: When talking about Fairy-type resists, if you say they may struggle to take your coverage moves, that means they might or might not;no need to say some might not, especially when you can and do talk about those Pokemon. Also, Ferroseed walls its attacking moves? That seems redundant, especially when you mention that it doesn't mind Thunder Wave, which is its only non-attacking option. I guess it doesn't wall Heal Bell or Rest or Bulk Up (though it walls BU-boosted Snubbull, i bet) but it's understood that you can't 'wall' recovery or boosting moves (except by walling the boosted sweepers, i guess, again).

You know, pawniard can't really switch into Snubbull that well, I bet it doesn't OHKO it either. All it does is...be a physical attacker it can't switch into and beat (should you list all of those?). In order for it to get the Defiant boost, you have to switch into it, which is a really dumb move you probably won't make. I guess it could double switch (not sure how switching mechanics exactly work in that case, i'd call it a 50/50 depending on who is slower/faster anyhow), but other than that, why is it such a huge threat to Snubbull? Again, it's not like you should switch into it.

Walls don't really LOSE to the Restalk variant; it's essentially a stalemate. I guess it wins in PP stall wars, but it's worth noting that forcing it to Rest is kind of a win already, so...yea.

You really need a checks and counters section of stuff that just OHKOes (i.e. revenges, double switches into) snubbull; i'm sure a lot of stuff can at least take down the BJ set? Stop me if i'm wrong here. Also, i'd personally separate Fairy resists into the respective types; you really don't give enough burn to each 1 IMO, and your checks and counters section is kind of short enough as it is.

Crunch OHKOes Gastly and deals more damage to Pumpkaboo than Snubbull's other attacks; both Ghost-types are able to easily take on all common offensive moves Snubbull carries. Fire Punch damages Steel-types and is Snubbull's most powerful option against Ferroseed and Foongus, but Earthquake hits a greater variety of targets. Superpower can be used over Close Combat, but it reduces Snubbull's staying power by even more. Bulldoze, despite its useful sSpeed lowering effect, is too weak to be effectively used as a coverage move. Snubbull's enormous special movepool is offset by its awful Special Attack stat.

Checks and Counters
########

**Fairy resists:** Various Steel-, Fire-, and Poison-types are able to switch in on Play Rough, but may struggle to absorb Snubbull's coverage moves,(rc) with some exceptions. Foongus is able to almost entirely wall Snubbull's attacking moves and does not mind Thunder Wave due to its already low sSpeed; furthermore, Regenerator allows Foongus to effortlessly check Snubbull throughout the match. Koffing does not pack Regenerator so it can be worn down, but otherwise walls Snubbull completely. Gastly dislikes Thunder Wave and Thief, but it is able to OHKO all Snubbull sets with Life Orb Sludge Bomb if it gets into play safely.

**Pawniard:** Although it dislikes switching in on Snubbull's powerful attacks, Pawniard is able to take advantage of Snubbull's Intimidate to activate Defiant, allowing Pawniard to OHKO Snubbull and severely threaten the rest of Snubbull's team.

**Walls:** Extremely physically bulky Pokemon such as Spritzee, Porygon, and Hippopotas are able to stall most variants of Snubbull out, although they will lose if Snubbull is a RestTalk variant and they are unable to 3HKO it or if Snubbull is running Bulk Up.

I honestly didn't even consider combining the sets just because using and playing against both variants of Snubbull a great deal over the past few months never actually brought the possibility to my mind when they play quite differently, so I'm not really inclined to combine them now. With that being said, it's pretty clear that I haven't done enough to emphasize their differences, so I'll definitely fix that up.
I'm going to implement most of your changes, but a few things near the end:

You know, pawniard can't really switch into Snubbull that well, I bet it doesn't OHKO it either. All it does is...be a physical attacker it can't switch into and beat (should you list all of those?). In order for it to get the Defiant boost, you have to switch into it, which is a really dumb move you probably won't make. I guess it could double switch (not sure how switching mechanics exactly work in that case, i'd call it a 50/50 depending on who is slower/faster anyhow), but other than that, why is it such a huge threat to Snubbull? Again, it's not like you should switch into it.

Iron Head OHKOs the Berry Juice variant from full health (Life Orb Iron Head OHKOs all variants of Snubbull after Stealth Rock), and Eviolite Pawniard is able to survive Earthquake pretty easily. If Eviolite Snubbull uses Thunder Wave on an incoming Eviolite Pawniard, a combination of Iron Head and Sucker Punch KOs. All variants can also revenge-kill a slightly weakened Snubbull, of course. I have Pawniard in its own category because even though it doesn't outright wall Snubbull like Foongus or Ferroseed or Koffing do, its presence on a team and the threat of a well-played switch can deter Snubbull from switching in at all, even when Pawniard itself isn't in, which is detrimental for a Pokemon whose main niche over its competition is that it can come in repeatedly and immediately threaten a large portion of the metagame, and the main reason why Snubbull was overlooked for a long time.

Walls don't really LOSE to the Restalk variant; it's essentially a stalemate. I guess it wins in PP stall wars, but it's worth noting that forcing it to Rest is kind of a win already, so...yea.

I did mean that Snubbull can PP stall them out, but I'll change it to show that.

The relevant attacks that can OHKO Berry Juice Snubbull are either ridiculous wall-breaking attacks like Life Orb Taillow's Boomburst which I think are a given, or STAB super-effective attacks which would fall under the first category. I have all three fairy resists in one category because with the exceptions that I made note of, they're very similar in how they beat Snubbull and how they don't (they can switch in on Heal Bell or Play Rough but not on Thunder Wave or Earthquake). I don't want the Checks and Counters section to be too long and give off the impression that Snubbull is easy to counter, because especially for offensive teams, it can actually be quite difficult to switch into.

I'm implementing the rest of your check rn

edit: implemented, thanks

those are some good-ass points, though i'd elaborate more just how pawniard takes advantage of intimidate

i usually hate the kind of shit i'm advocating right now but it's honestly not an obvious way to do so so it'd be nice

other than that g.g and ww

Overview
########

Thanks to its good defensive typing and ability, Snubbull is able to function as an excellent pivot for on offensive teams. Although it is inevitably compared to Spritzee as a bulky Fairy-type, its wonderful movepool, both offensively and defensively, when combined with its high damage output, allows it to simultaneously support its own team and threaten the opposition. In particular, Snubbull carves itself out a niche as one of the tier's premier Fighting-type checks, provided they lack Poison-type coverage moves; it is also able to function as an effective Knock Off absorber for teams that need one. Snubbull's greatest weakness is that it lacks reliable recovery unless it runs Rest and Sleep Talk, which carries its own disadvantages.

Berry Juice Support
########
name: Berry Juice
move 1: Thief
move 2: Play Rough
move 3: Earthquake
move 4: Thunder Wave / Heal Bell
ability: Intimidate
item: Berry Juice
evs: 36 HP / 196 Atk / 36 Def / 116 SpD / 116 Spe
nature: Adamant

Moves
========

Thief allows Snubbull to steal an item once Berry Juice is used up or Knocked Off, acting as a pseudo Knock Off.

Set Details
========

This set aims to support the team while maintaining a good offensive presence. The given EVs and nature maximize Snubbull's damage output and boost both its defenses so Snubbull can better take both physical and special neutral attacks. Hitting 11 Speed lets Snubbull reliably check Poison Jab Timburr, and outspeed and thus 2HKO Skrelp on the switch with Earthquake, as well as and speed tie with Pancham. (flows better as a list imo)

Usage Tips
========

Switch in on something Snubbull forces out and use the appropriate attack to hit the switch-in. Try to use Thief on something that doesn't want to lose its item, like Eviolite Porygon. A low-health(AH) Snubbull can, with Intimidate, be used as fodder against physical attackers; however, do not attempt this against Defiant Pawniard, because Intimidate will activate Defiant. Heal Bell is best used when Snubbull or one of its teammates is affected by status.

Team Options
========

Snubbull pairs well with Pokemon that appreciate a check to Fighting-types, such as Porygon; offensive Steel-types in general, including Magnemite and Pawniard, have good type synergy with Snubbull. Ponyta is able to reliably check Pawniard, Foongus and Ferroseed, three Pokemon that Snubbull thoroughly dislikes. Hidden Power Fire Gothita is able to trap and eliminate Foongus and Ferroseed; similarly, Diglett can trap and deal with specific troublesome Poison- and Steel-types.

Eviolite Support
########
name: Eviolite
move 1: Play Rough
move 2: Earthquake
move 3: Thunder Wave
move 4: Heal Bell / Bulk Up
ability: Intimidate
item: Eviolite
evs: 36 HP / 196 Atk / 36 Def / 116 SpD / 116 Spe
nature: Adamant

Moves
========

Set Details
========

The EVs allow Snubbull to heavily damage most switch-ins while outspeeding two important threats in Timburr and Skrelp,(AC) as well as and Speed tying with Pancham. Leftover EVs are put in both defenses so Snubbull can hit Eviolite numbers to better take both physical and special attacks. A more defensive spread of 36 HP / 36 Atk / 196 Def / 196 SpD / 36 Spe is also an option if even more bulk is desired. An Eviolite gives this set a good amount of initial bulk, allowing it to take advantage of Wish support and survive many otherwise fatal attacks.

Usage Tips
========

Come in on something Snubbull is able to beat and try to hit whatever the opponent switches to. Due to Snubbull's lack of recovery outside of external support, mistakes are slightly more punishable, so except against specific enemies, Thunder Wave is often the safest opening move. If Wish support is not available, a low health Snubbull can be sacrificed to temporarily weaken physical attackers except for Pawniard, who will take advantage of Intimidate with Defiant. Heal Bell is to be used if Snubbull or a teammate is affected by a detrimental (don't think we need this) status condition. Defensive Pokemon such Spritzee and Porygon are common switch-ins to Snubbull and are good opportunities to set up Bulk Up. Utilizing multiple Thunder Waves frequently early on in the match will make it easier to sweep with Bulk Up later. (sounded awkward with "frequently early")

Team Options
========

Any Pokemon that dislikes Fighting-types will appreciate Snubbull as a teammate; Lickitung in particular can pass Snubbull large Wishes to keep Snubbull healthy. Steel-types such as Pawniard and Ferroseed also appreciate Snubbull's ability to check Fighting-types, while themselves dealing with Poison- and Fairy-types.(you made it sound like snubbull was checking poison and fairy types) Ponyta checks Pawniard, Ferroseed, and Foongus, while Gothita can most notably trap Foongus, Croagunk, and, if Gothita runs Hidden Power Fire is run, Ferroseed.(passive vs active voice)

RestTalk
########
name: Rest + Sleep Talk
move 1: Rest
move 2: Sleep Talk
move 3: Play Rough
move 4: Earthquake
ability: Intimidate
item: Eviolite
evs: 36 HP / 36 Atk / 196 Def / 196 SpD / 36 Spe
nature: Careful

Moves
========

Heal Bell can be used over Earthquake to support the team, and can wake Snubbull up a turn earlier if picked by Rest; however, the coverage will be sorely missed.

Set Details
========

The given EVs and nature allow Snubbull to hit Eviolite numbers and 23/21/21 bulk after Eviolite, letting it avoid the OHKO from all but extremely powerful super effective attacks. The remaining EVs are filler; 23 HP is maintained so that Snubbull only takes 2 damage from Stealth Rock. Eviolite is the item of choice for increased bulk, since Snubbull already has a method of recovery with this set.

Usage Tips
========

Switch in on something that can't hurt Snubbull significantly and hit the switch-in or use Rest if Snubbull's health is getting low. This set plays like a typical wall, coming in on threats that cannot hurt Snubbull significantly and whittling them down.

Team Options
========

Snubbull pairs well with Pokemon that appreciate a check to Fighting-types, such as Porygon, Ferroseed, and defensive Steel-types in general. Lickitung in particular can wake a sleeping Snubbull with Heal Bell support. Ponyta is able to reliably check Pawniard, Foongus and Ferroseed, three Pokemon that Snubbull thoroughly dislikes (you already used this phrase. maybe something like "can't handle well").

Other Options
########

Crunch OHKOes Gastly and deals more damage to Pumpkaboo than Snubbull's other attacks; both Ghost-types are able to easily take on all common offensive moves Snubbull carries. Fire Punch damages Steel-types and is Snubbull's most powerful option against Ferroseed and Foongus, but Earthquake hits a greater variety of targets. Superpower can be used over Close Combat, but it reduces Snubbull's staying power by even more. Bulldoze, despite its useful Speed lowering effect, is too weak to be effectively used as a coverage move. Snubbull's enormous special movepool is offset by its awful Special Attack stat.(AP)

Checks and Counters

**Fairy resists:** Various Steel-, Fire-, and Poison-types are able to switch in on Play Rough, but may struggle to absorb Snubbull's coverage moves. Foongus is able to almost entirely wall Snubbull and does not mind Thunder Wave due to its already low Speed; furthermore, Regenerator allows Foongus to effortlessly check Snubbull throughout the match. Koffing does not pack Regenerator so it can be worn down, but otherwise walls Snubbull completely. Ferroseed will not enjoy taking some of Snubbull's rarer coverage moves, but can generally withstand Snubbull's assaults fairly easily to and set up hazards or hit back hard. Gastly dislikes Thunder Wave and Thief, but it is able to OHKO all Snubbull sets with Life Orb Sludge Bomb if it gets into play safely.

**Pawniard:** Although it dislikes switching in on Snubbull's powerful attacks, Pawniard is able to take advantage of Snubbull's Intimidate to activate Defiant, allowing Pawniard to OHKO Snubbull and severely threaten the rest of Snubbull's its team with some smart switches.

We went over this on IRC. This is a solid check; please implement it. :)

This is the most well-written analysis I think I've ever seen in this forum.
