ZU (SS) Stoutland [DONE]

[OVERVIEW]

Stoutland leaves a lot to be desired in SS ZU. The generational loss of Return leaves the shaggy dog scrambling for replacements for a Normal-type STAB move, all of them either too weak or unreliable. As a result, Stoutland can't really make use of its solid base Attack stat and is very outclassed as a Normal-type attacker by Kangaskhan, Silvally, and Bouffalant, all of which possess much stronger STAB moves, reliable coverage for Normal-resistant foes, and in the case of the latter two, access to a boosting move in Swords Dance.

[SET]
name: Wallbreaker
move 1: Retaliate
move 2: Last Resort
move 3:
move 4:
item: Silk Scarf
ability: Scrappy
nature: Adamant
evs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

Stoutland attempts to wallbreak through spamming STAB Last Resort, which has no immunities thanks to its ability Scrappy. However, Last Resort is a very unreliable move that requires spending a turn using the much weaker Retaliate, and the set can't do much of anything to bulky Rock- and Steel-types, of which SS ZU has plenty, mainly Klinklang and Rhydon. As a Normal-type attacker, you are much better off using Kangaskhan, Silvally, or Bouffalant, which have more reliable STAB options or the ability to boost with Swords Dance in the case of the latter two.
