:Whiscash::Crocalor: :Blissey: :Alomomola: :Revavroom: :Sableye: Whiscash & Crocalor stall by Yourwelcomethanku
Snow with Cetitan is pretty problematic for stall, especially with Healing Wish Hattrem available; that is unless you run Crocalor (Or Avalugg), which helps the matchup a lot. Crocalor is Heavy-Duty Boots as opposed to Eviolite in order to compliment the Spikes stacking nature of the team. There's no hazard removal for Crocalor. Knock Off Sableye and entry hazard setter Whiscash are a big way for this team to wear down the opposition whilst staying healthy with its sheer bulkiness. Alomomola is Tera Fairy, which is critical for Flamigo. Wish from Alomomola can keep the recovery move-lacking Revavroom and Whiscash healthy. Calm Mind helps Blissey check setup sweepers like Oricorio and Rotom, and Shadow Ball lets it hit Ghost-types and even sometimes sweep teams with Tera Ghost. Tera Ghost is important for Blissey to handle Toxtricity, as Shift Gear can Drain Punch Blissey and Tera Normal +1 Boomburst is just too strong.
:Toxtricity: :Tatsugiri: :Gardevoir: :Klefki: :Rotom-Mow: :Mudsdale: Toxtricity & Specs Tatsugiri Spikes Offense by ishtar
Hazard stacking in RU is fairly straightforward, particularly when considering the potency of breakers such as Toxtricity. The team should be used rather offensively in order to reliably deal with threats such as Rotom-Heat and Oricorios: Tatsugiri and Gardevoir particularly. Spin is very much so an afterthought option on the team, so only resort to it instead of clicking your very spammable STAB moves if extremely necessary. Fat MUs are more reliant on Gardevoir Trick as well as Toxtricity, but if these become particularly problematic Drain Punch could be considered on Toxt, but I don’t consider this to be the case in the current meta. You should have enough of a defensive backbone with Mudsdale and Klefki to withstand most unboosted threats, and Roar shall remain an invaluable asset in dealing with certain setup sweepers. Finally, figure out a plan with Toxtricity taking into consideration hazards, phasing, Rocky Helmet, pivoting, HW, etc. The amount of tools at your disposal should allow you to (hopefully) come out on top vs. every archetype. Hf!
:Abomasnow: :Cetitan: :Frosmoth: :Hattrem: :Krookodile: :Flamigo: Snow by Togkey
:Heracross: :Krookodile: :Slowbro: :Gardevoir: :Oricorio-pom-pom: :Revavroom: Trailblaze Heracross Bulky Offense by eifo
Fairly basic proactive bulky offense build. Hera and Krook are the main ways of making progress, greatly aided by future sight Bro. Bro packs body press and tera fairy for the Weavile match up. Tera poison lets Krook beat Mowtom, Hera, Bonnet, Flamigo, Sylveon, and Gardevoir (if locked into Moonblast). Hera is tera normal to power up facade, but you could also use tera dark with Throat Chop to break Palossand and ohko Mismagius. Garde provides the team with speed control, healing wish support for Hera/Krook, and counterplay versus set up mons such as Pom-Pom, CM Bro, and to some degree Sensu and Frosmoth. The team also as a Pom-Pom itself, but its role is to function as a pivot and form of hazard control here, rather than sweeper. It is tera fire to deal with Cetitan, which unfortunately ohkos Slowbro with tera ground earthquake after a belly drum, hence that matchup needs to be played carefully. Vroom rounds out the team by providing a general defensive pivot, toxic spikes absorber, and additional insurance versus Sensu, Frosmoth, and Gardevoir. It was originally tspikes itself, but being walled by Klefki and opposing Vroom was not fun. The speed lets it outspeed max speed Frosmoth, such that you may haze and then outspeed it. Tera water lets it tank moves from Salazzle and Tatsugiri when in a pinch, while also shedding its ground weakness, but you generally do not want to tera it, much like with Pom-Pom.
:Krookodile: :Slowbro: :Gardevoir: :Altaria: :Copperajah: :Indeedee: by Yourwelcomethanku
The idea of this when making it was Bulk Up Krookodile + Slowbro, both are powerful setup sweepers that can be difficult to handle. These Pokemon also simply have good practical applications thanks to their good defensive typing, Slowbro can check stuff like Flamigo and Copperajah, and having the ability to block Volt Switch with Krookodile at all is valuable. Intimidate could also be useful for thwarting something like Shift Gear Revavroom. Gardevoir gives the team a very powerful wallbreaker and a Cetitan check. With Tera Fire, it can resist Ice Shard and revenge kill Cetitan. Altaria gives the team entry hazard removal, which is important given the pace of the team and numerous susceptible Pokemon, and a Brute Bonnet check. Indeedee provides a Choice Scarf user that resists Ghost, outpaces most opposing Choice Scarf users, and outpaces +1 Oricorio forms. Psyshock is chosen because it hits Mismagius a lot harder.
:Zoroark: :Mudsdale: :Slowbro: :Cryogonal: :Blissey: :Ditto: Semi-Stall with Zoroark and Ditto by Yourwelcomethanku
This team was made to try and deal with the highly offensive teams that were being spammed on ladder during RULT. It has Ditto with Tera Steel to try and check Hariyama, Blissey helps against Toxtricity and is the Stealth Rock user rather than Mudsdale, which lets Mudsdale run both Roar and Protect. Cryogonal combines phazer with Haze and entry hazard removal via Rapid Spin, helps keep Rocks off and checks Oricorio. Tera Steel can help it deal with like Gardevoir or Calm Mind Psyshock Slowbro. Zoroark is a Pokemon that I think is pretty good in this format, not many Knock Off users. Essentially, Zoroark is intended to be a big way for the team to make progress, by removing Heavy-Duty Boots and Leftovers and dealing damage. Whether or not Zoroark can do this may be hit or miss, if they have a Paldean Tauros. it might take a while. After Knock Off and U-turn there's good freedom in what moves to use. Low Kick and Sucker Punch aren't that important on this team. Consider options like Sludge Bomb for Fairy-types, Dark Pulse for Slowbro(Slowbro walls unless you Tera Dark), Psychic for Paldean Tauros and so on. Calm Mind Slowbro gives the team a great win condition. Mudsdale is the team's Ground-type, which is important for Bellibolt. Heavy Slam means Gardevoir is OHKOd and you hit Flamigo hard too.
:Passimian: :Salazzle: :Slowbro::Klefki: :Mudsdale: :Blissey:Spikes Balance by Yourwelcomethanku
Mudsdale, Slowbro, and Blissey is a great defensive core that can cover a lot of the metagame. Toxtricity, Flamigo, Tatsugiri and many more threats can be checked by them. Blissey is the Stealth Rock user, which frees Mudsdale to run both Roar and Protect. Heavy Slam prevents Mudsdale from being setup fodder to Mismagius and it hits Flying-types like Flamigo hard. Calm Mind Slowbro gives the team a very good setup sweeper win condition. Klefki is a good Weavile answer, Gardevoir answer, and provides Spikes. Salazzle and Choice Scarf Passimian both have Knock Off, which can help accentuate Spikes. They're also quite fast, complementing the slow bulky rest of the team. Salazzle is great at crippling Pokemon with its Toxic, which can also let it check Primeape. Passimian is Tera Steel here so that it can resist Bullet Punch and revenge kill Belly Drum Hariyama.

Heyo! We got a bunch of new drops and stuff so all our sample teams are outdated. Fear not, however, for I am here to supply you with some easy-to-pilot offense teams that you may use for RULT, seasonals, or whatever it may be.

Sash Bramble + Meteor Beam Necro
1707245239262.png

https://pokepast.es/fa018a40641db2a8

Basic stuff. Meteor Beam Nec never fails to make progress. Stoise is a cool wincon. It's timid to outspeed Scarf Gengar after a shell smash. Tera Blast grass lets it break Milotic and Quag more reliably than Dark Pulse and lets it resist electric and ground to give it additional set up opportunities. Mimi is Shadow Claw here but you could also experiment with Wood Hammer to lure Hippo/Quag. Likewise, Rev may drop Iron Head for Tera Blast grass to lure the same mons, but for now it's the typical set. Flygon is tera steel for Comfey, Enam, Hax, Mence, etc. Bramble can be used as a suicide lead but it doesn't need to be. You may also lead off with Necro, Stoise, or Gon and start blowing wholes into the opponent's team. It would also be possible to swap Bramble for something else, if you really feel like it.

Maushold + DD Hax
1707245318284.png

https://pokepast.es/cc592f0fc8f81c31

Suicide leads are overrated, especially on Maushold teams where you often want to click Tidy Up. Maus is tera ghost here to become immune to Extreme Speed, Mach Punch, CC, and opposing Pop Bomb. This team has Hax over Flygon because Iron Jugulis provides the team with a ground immune. Hax is just busted tbh. Tera steel lets it beat all the fairies and makes it resist Ice Shard, Extreme Speed, and Draining Kiss, thereby enabling it to get around being revenge killed by Comfey, Mamo, Entei, or Lucario. Jugu is Taunt here but Work Up might be better. Tera Ground provides it with electric immunity + additional stab on EP, which is big versus steels. As for Stoise, Mimi, and Rev, they are the same sets here as on the former team. But again, feel free to experiment with the sets.

Snow Volt-Turn
1707245334149.png

https://pokepast.es/b988d2e85c48b1a3

This one is a bit more unique. Slowking is Icy Rock to maximize the turns under snow. It has phenomenal synergy with Cetitan and Sandslash-A, in particular, both of whom provide the team with speed control and breaking power. Each of them are Jolly to outspeed Scarf Gengar. Cetitan is Icicle Spear to KO stuff through Sash and Disguise but Icicle Crash would also be fine here. Knock lets it OHKO Rotom-W after a Belly Drum, while Tera Fairy gives it extra set-up opportunities. Alternatively, you could also use tera ground EQ. Likewise, you could go tera ground Slash, but I prefer dark for extra power on Knock. Helm Coba provides extra insurance versus Maus and Zarude and sets SR reliably. AV Cyclizar is a decent remover, forms a regencore with Slowking, and can tera steel to check stuff defensively if need be. Iron Head was chosen as its last move to have another way of dealing with Enamorous and Comfey. Kilo gives the team ground immune and electric immune, while snow gives it perfect coverage between Weather Ball and Tbolt. I chose kilo over Thundurus-T for a better speed tier. It is very useful versus mons such as Terrak, Coba, Iron Leaves (booster attack), Zarude, Thundurus, etc.

Hello! This is my first serious ladder run on the RU ladder. I wanted to submit a unique team that I made which utilizes an underrated mechanic which is not seen much in the RU tier: Terrain.
The team: https://pokepast.es/28d9c8a0f93b417f
Pincurchin: :pincurchin: Pincurchin is the terrain setter of this this team. The support it offers is invaluable, with its ability Electric Surge, as well as Spike stacking and T-wave support. Pincurchin is max-max in both HP and Defense to maximize its longevity. Its only offensive move is Discharge, which is used to fish for paralysis anyway. Tera Ghost is the optimal choice for spin blocking purposes.
Raichu-Alola: :raichu-alola: Raichu-Alola's Surge Surfer ability grants it the ability to outspeed threats such as +2 Jolly Revraroom, Basculeigon, Kingdra and Overqwil under rain, Timid Venusaur and Adamant Lilligant Hisui under sun,as well as the common HDB Iron Jugulis sets. The role that Raichu-Alola takes is to pressure the opponent and/or revenge kill threats under Electric Terrain. The spread which I have given it, which is Modest 32 HP/252 SpA/224 Spe allows Raichu to outspeed Krookodile outside Terrain, and maximizes the amount of Life Orb hits Raichu can take. Tera Electric maximizes its damage output under terrain, Psyshock deals damage to Blissey and AV Cyclizar, and Grass Knot OHKOs PhysDef Hippowdon and Swampert. Nasty Plot allows you to get greedy while pressuring the opponent to switch out.
Iron Jugulis: :iron jugulis: Iron Jugulis gains an automatic 1.5x boost to its speed from Quark Drive thanks to terrain. Because terrain already activates Quark Drive, it frees up Jugulis' item slot to hold a Power Herb. Thanks to its newly acquired move, Meteor Beam, Iron Jugulis can gain a one-time boost to its Special Attack any time it wants. Jugulis' role is very versatile, from breaker, to sweeper, to revenge killer, if you need it to do something, it will do that thing under terrain. Tera Ground is used to boost Earth Power and gain another Electric immunity.
Iron Leaves: :iron leaves: Iron Leaves acts as the main breaker. Psyblade with the Electric Terrain boost in tandem with Choice Band allows it break through tier. The spread given allows Iron Leaves to gain a speed boost, much like Iron Jugulis. Tera Fire is used to give Iron Leaves Fire Type coverage for Tinkaton, as well as giving it burn immunity from Talonflame's Flame Body on stall teams.
Donphan: :donphan: Donphan is hazard removal for the team. Ice Shard gives small priority. Some speed investment is given to speed creep other Donphan. Tera Ghost is the optimal choice for spin blocking purposes.
Empoleon: :empoleon: Empoleon's job is to switch into Gardevoir's fairy moves, and to get up rocks. Flip Turn allows you to gain momentum and to safely get in Raichu-Alola, Iron Jugulis, or Iron Leaves. Tera Fairy is for Dragon Immunity and to resist Fighting moves.

Overall, this team had gotten me to peak as #31 on the ladder. I have some replays as examples of High-Ladder gameplay for the RU ladder:
https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen9ru-2060696888?p2
https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen9ru-2057960151?p2
https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen9ru-2059962264

Overall this team is pretty solid, Pokémon like :Mamoswine: Mamoswine can give this team trouble due to priority and its :arceus:-like coverage.
:kleavor: Kleavor with Close Combat can be annoying.

Thank you to Rarelyme for giving me permission to post on the thread and encouraging me to post this team.

I just finished the second cycle of RULT in second and so I thought I’d share some of the more successful teams I had during my run on ladder.

AV Hoopa BO:
:hippowdon: :hoopa-unbound: :bellibolt: :cyclizar: :mew: :maushold:

:Hippowdon: - Hippo forms a defensive core with Bellibolt, and is the main counter to :Revavroom: :Mimikyu: :Maushold: etc. Hippo is incredibly good at taking most physical attacks and roaring away any potential boosted threats to the team. Functions as the rocker of the team and is incredibly solid overall. Rocky Helmet provides a way to make progress while remaining healthy with Slack Off, and tera ghost provides Hippo an opportunity to roar out ID boosted Cobalion or a way out of losing to Maushold if you lose your helmet.

:Hoopa-Unbound: - AV Cyc is boring, so I decided to use the much cooler AV Hoopa for my team, who tanks essentially every special attack under the sun. 252 Sp. Def allows it to easily 1v1 against :Iron-Jugulis: :Thundurus-Therian: :Blastoise: and with max Attack investment it isn’t something you can ignore either. Hoopa is able to Drain punch the likes of Jugulis and remain relatively healthy even after a potential flinch, knock off OHKOs Thundurus-Therian 40% of the time from full health, as well as forces progress on more defensive teams. Psychic Noise is incredibly useful for keeping key mons low if you need another part of the team to sweep. Tera Poison not only boosts the power of Gunk Shot, but also provides a resistance to Fairy moves like a Gardevoir’s Moonblast and the dreaded U-Turn.

:Bellibolt: - Another way to force progress on teams, Toxic allows for easy chip over the course of a game, and Electromorphosis boosted Parabolic Charges and Volt Switches are nothing to scoff at. In general it acts as a failsafe check to physical attackers if Hippo goes down. Tera Water is to help with the team’s matchup into Rain, and 20 points are invested into speed to outspeed Hippos.

:cyclizar: - Boots Cyclizar is the primary hazard remover on the team, as well as a great disrupter to HO with taunt, which devastates teams thinking that they can set up on it for free. Everything else is standard with max HP to provide more longevity. Tera Ghost for fighting types but it’s flexible.

:mew: - Mew provides the team with a sweeper that will absolutely wreck teams once enough progress has been made. Mew is able to pretty easily set up in front of a ton of the tier right now, ID allows you to absorb potential knocks without needing to burn tera, calm mind boosts Stored Power and Draining Kiss. There is very little that checks this in the tier right now besides using trick and roar, with trick being very easy to outplay and roar being a matter of chipping the user until it’s in stored power range. Tera fairy allows for you to set up on moves like knock off and get a free boost, as well as making draining kiss actually do damage, overall great team member that provides extra bulk and sweeping potential for the team.

:maushold: Maus provides the team with an alternative form of hazard removal, as well as a setup sweeper that hits the vast majority of the tier for great damage even unboosted. Tera normal allows Maus to grab OHKOs on most of the tier without them expecting it. Even on resists like Cobalion with max defense you 50% minimum after tera. Also, potential mach punchers like Conkeldurr and Breloom aren’t used much due to threats like Iron Jugulis. If Maushold gets a chance to set up and there’s no Rocky Helmet wearer then it often runs away with games. Encore is nice to shut down other set up sweepers, and bite is used for obvious reasons.

Overall, against HO, this team has a generally positive matchup, with Roar Hippo doing massive work. Against other Balance and BO, knock stuff with Cyclizar, disable recovery with Hoopa, and win with either Maushold or Mew, and against stall, Hoopa knock and psychic noise puts in work.

Stored Power HO

:mew: :revavroom: :maushold: :mimikyu: :cresselia: :infernape:
This team is much simpler, essentially just find a situation for one of your sweepers to win, which, duh, it’s an HO. Mine is a little more custom than most, but it still is an HO.

:mew: - Does the exact same as it does on the other team, waits for the right things to be chipped then sets up, probably teras, and wins. Max speed means you don’t get taunted, or potentially encored in some situations. Same set as the other as well

:Infernape: Jugs got banned (thank god), but that does mean this team needs a change. My current thought is special Infernape with balloon to act as another potential check to Hippo. Taunt for the same reasons that Jug ran it, just an option to deny setup from other threatening sweepers. Grass Knot hits Hippo hard, Fire Blast and Focus Blast for STAB, if you were willing to run Hurricane on Jugulis, then you can run FB on Ape. This might not necessarily be the best option, I’ve seen Thundurus-T on ladder as a replacement, but I feel like this set mirrors the idea of Jug pretty decently. Tera Grass gives you a Water and Electric resist, as well as a boost to the power of Grass Knot.

:Revavroom: - This is where my sets differ slightly from the norm. I prefer running tera water on my Rev to actually threaten KOs on Hippo. This allows the other set up sweepers to not have to worry about being roared out by it. Also, this almost always wins a shift gear war against other Revs, as a +2 Tera Water Tera Blast has an 87.5% chance to OHKO. Otherwise it just flinches and wins the game.

:maushold: - Same as the other set, tera normal for extra damage, provides hazard removal for the team.

:mimikyu: - Mimikyu provides a check against other sweepers who have gotten out of hand with Red Card. SD, Play Rough, and Shadow Sneak are pretty common, however I’m running destiny bond to try and catch slower mons that think they tank and can revenge kill it afterwords, mainly Hippo, but it can also work on Bisharp who forgo the Sucker Punch mind games. Tera Normal allows me to take opposing shadow sneaks and claws from other Mimikyu.

:Cresselia: For the most part this set is pretty common, Calm Mind, Moonblast, Stored Power, Moonlight, max Phys. Def. I run rocky helmet as a check to Maushold, and tera is flexible between grass and steel. Steel means you not only counter Maushold, but also Revavroom, but Grass means you don’t lose to Wo-Chien 1v1.

These teams have worked incredibly well for me during RULT, so I think they’re pretty good, try them if you want to.

:swampert::rotom-heat::zarude::gardevoir::slither wing::cyclizar:

TLDR

Played more than 500 games with this team during RULT, don't intend to participate in the tour myself but I have fun nevertheless. Just VoltTurn into Gardevoir and spam Moonblast.

Summary

:swampert::rotom-heat: Swampert and Rotom-H are honest glue mons that may drop to NU due to Hippo, Moltres, Rotom-W being more popular and so I want to gatekeep them from dropping down. Rocky Helmet Swampert kills Maushold, while Tera Ghost Rotom-H provides an emergency check against IDBP Cobalion and resists Gunk Shot Revavroom. Thunder Wave helps against HO and notably Armarouge and Demon Mew, which otherwise threaten this team. Both help to bring in the wallbreakers.

:zarude: Had U-Turn + Jungle Healing at first but changed to Bulk Up Zarude, which on its own is a terrifying sweeper and has 6-0 Lead Kleavor HO before at high ladder. Drain Punch also provides good coverage against Bisharp. I am starting to think this may be more broken than Iron Leaves.

:gardevoir: The MVP, also another mon I want to gatekeep from NU. An excellent wallbreaker that exploits Cyclizar very well by copying Regenerator, Modest Specs Tera Fairy Moonblast has no switch-ins bar Fezandipiti and Revavroom (and Bronzong), though they still need to be wary of Psyshock. Moltres and Slowking get 2HKO by Moonblast, and often forces a Tera Poison from Hippo, Zarude, Cress, to name a few. Deleting Moltres early also opens up a Zarude sweep.

:slither wing: Adamant Band Slither Wing similarly is a no-nonsense mon that revenges HO / Trick Room well with First Impression, and Earthquake is useful especially given how Poison is a common Tera type.

:cyclizar: Taunt Cyclizar shuts down passive mons like Hippo and Stall well, which means no AV but then Boots helps in preventing chip damage and thus alleviate the pressure on it in keeping hazards off the field. Just enough Speed for Azelf, though you can go max Speed if you wish.

Analysis
HZoro is the core of the team capable of breaking walls under illusion. It has decent power and useful defensive utilities. Cobalion is the main target for illusion. Once HZoro pretends to be it and picks off hippo, IronPress cobalion can easily sweep, and it can check dark types like bisharp for hzoro. av hoopa functions as the third offensive pieces with amazing special bulk to 1v1 foes like Gengar. With hoopa taking care of special defensive side, cyclizar is free to use boots for web and taunt to improve its long run performance. Hippo and moltres finish the defensive core.

Here are new and improved versions of the two ho builds i posted here earlier. The snow team is unfortunately no longer viable, now that we lost Slowking.

Tera Fairy Necrozma to take less from Shadow Ball (Gengar) and Knock Off/Hyperspace Fury (Zarude, Hoopa). Tera Ghost Stoise has lots of useful defensive properties, such as letting it answer Iron Defense Body Press Cobalion and SG Revavroom, while also gaining immunity to Mach Punch, Extremespeed, and Population Bomb. It also lets Stoise OHKO Slowbro (and Volcanion after some chip). Tera Fire Rev can set up on Moltres, a mon which would otherwise be annoying. Mimi is Red Card to force out annoying set-up mons. Enamorous is tera ground to gain stab on EP + immunity to electric, but tera poison, steel, and fairy would also work well here. Zarude is Lum Berry so that it can more easily bust through Moltres and set up on Slowbro (protects against Scald burns and Twave), while Tera Ghost is useful for all the reasons outlined above wrt Stoise.

Fairly similar to the team above. SD Kleavor is great to weaken Hippo for Maus, Mimi, and Rev. Tera Fire Tera Blast Maushold lets it break Cobalion and Moltres. Went with Tera Ground Rev on this build for extra damage versus Coba + electric immunity. The rest is the same as on the other build.
