The Legend Run: (C$FP | Athenodoros) Timeless Tower [Completed]

Official Smogon Know-It-All
Finally, a stroke of luck. I won't nickname Magcargo because I don't actually intend to claim it in the near future anyway. Anyway, we'll just RUN THE HELL AWAY from the obvious trap. I don't need that in my life right now.

Iron Dungeon - Iron Maiden

So you grab the sword, preferring Offence over Defence. You feel that despite being made of rock, it felt rather light. Then you went ahead like an idiot & slashed the sword around...

THWACK!

Your careless swinging of the sword has resulted in you striking a poor Pokemon with it. It was a Mawile. You cruel bastard. You try to tend to the Mawile, but it bites you with the big evil fang mouth thing Mawile's have & shattered the sword into simply shards of rock. You are forced to send in Electro, Swamp Thing, & Klink to fight it, but the Mawile makes a shrieking cry, intimidating your three members...Except Klink, but it has it's DW Ability for now, though. Eventually the result of the shrieking cry came into effect, & you are suddenly struck from behind by another Pokemon, this time: Klang. The Klang joins the Mawile, as the Mawile makes another intimidating cry, effecting everyone but Klink...Again...Looks like the stage is set, it's time to duel!

Arena Rules:
Only Sandstorm weather allowed, something strange will happen when you use said move. No Water Supply.

Rock Crag - Petrified Forest

Scared about the trap, you decide to run away from the seemingly innocent Fresh Water & head for the exit. However, you don't watch where you were going, & run face first into a Pokemon. It was a Bolderdash, & it wasn't happy that you hit it, so it strikes you with rocks & sends you hurtling back near the centre of the arena, where another Pokemon awaited & sprang to life. It was a Sudowoodo. The Sudowoodo joins the Bolderdash & it looks like you're going nowhere for now, so you send in Nestor, Astraea, & Magcargo to defend yourself. Looks like it's time to duel!

Arena Rules:

Only Sandstorm Weather allowed. All other weathers will fail. No Water Supply.

Also, I'm going to take this moment to say that this will be the last round that I'll be able to ref for a while; Basically, exams are coming up for me, & I have quite a few to do. I'm going to have to turn my attention to trying to pass these classes, and...yeah. Consider this to be a temporary hiatus from the TLR. Other than that, I apologise for any inconvenience this is going to cause, & expect the next update to be in at least 2 weeks.

Electro: Thunderbolt (Mawile) 23, Thunderbolt (Mawile) 23

Swamp Thing: Superpower (Mawile) 24, Dig (Mawile) 21

btw I am just including my own damage calcs. It looks like everything should be moving pretty smoothly, even after this battle, and even considering that Klink did not accomplish anything more than being a shield.

Okay, I lied. I've reffed this now. But still, don't expect another reffing until roughly the 23rd of this month...Here's the update.

Iron Dungeon - Iron Maiden

Mawile begins by taking in sunlight...From somewhere...As Bill jumps up high & strikes Klang with a powerful kick, knocking it out of commission. Swamp Thing then grabs a huge chunk of metal, & chucks it at Mawile, dealing damage, but not stopping Mawile's charge. Funnily enough, Swamp Thing them became a bit more weaker than usual. Electro then zaps Mawile with a bolt of electricity, as Mawile unleashes a powerful ray of energy which blasts Swamp Thing for some damage.

Mawile then starts absorbing light again, as Bill fires a friendly beam at Swamp Thing which heals him. Swamp Thing then goes on his merry way, burrowing underground, as Bill jolts Mawile again with electricity. Mawile unleashes another beam, only for it to miss, as Swamp Thing pops out & strikes Mawile, dealing enough damage to knocck out the Mawile. So with the battle done, you pick up the two Mental Herbs & you move on.

Iron Dungeon - Hall of Mirrors

Continuing your way up the staircases, you randomly walk about & trigger a trap door, which you fall down! Upon impact, you take a bit of damage, & as you get up, you have a look around. This is the strangest room you've seen yet. It's still as cold and bland as everywhere else you've seen so far, but you can actually see yourself is this steel. It seems to have merged itself with a glass-like substance. Up ahead you encounter a circular room, and as you enter it you realize you can't find out where you are. Every side reflects your image. Before you panic, you notice a Bronzong floating around behind you. You attempt to follow it, but it turns around a corner.

You try searching for it again, and eventually you come upon its lair. Unfortunately you have no way back. Bronzong blasts a wall with Flash Cannon and hides away, although the hallway it burst into looks like the normal ones you were encountering before. Unfortunaltely, only one of your Pokemon can give pursuit to it, the other two will have to clear away the space. It doesn't look like you'll be able to continue without giving chase.

Who do you send in?

Rock Crag - Petrified Forest

Magcargo begins by showing his inner troll again & started to brace himself for any impact. Bolderdash, unaware of this, decides to detonate the ground below Magcargo, dealing a lot of damage, but Magcargo survives. Astraea the fires a jet of corrosive, salted water at Sudowoodo & deals a lot of damage. Nestor also does what Astraea does, but it does even more damage to Sudowoodo, & puts him in dire straits. Feeling uneasy & weak, Sudowoodo unleashes a massive tremour. Bolderdash dodges it, but all of your team members take damage, with Magcargo enduring the hit, but the protective wall softens the impact of the tremour.

Bolderdash, seeing what Magcargo is doing, turns its attention to Astraea, firing a ball of natural energy which strikes Astraea head on. Astraea responds to this with a jolt of lightning which paralyses the Bolderdash. Magcargo, then goes by unnoticed & makes contact with Bolderdash, sucking life force out of the Bolderdash & adding it to himself, as Sudowoodo goes ahead & crashes into Astraea, dealing a bit of damage, As Nestor still squirts a jet of water at Sudowoodo, finishing him off.

So, with a Bolderdash on the ropes, looks like Astraea is done for! What are you to do? Issue your actions.

Rock Crag - Petrified Forest

You throw a Heal Ball at the Bolderdash & it goes inside. The Ball drops & comes to a rest...Before opening up a few seconds later, as the Bolderdash came back out. Unlucky you...And so Bolderdash is exhausted after breaking free & Chills. Awww...

So you throw another Heal Ball. Once again, Bolderdash goes inside & the ball drops to the floor. First wobble, you got a wobble at least...Second wobble, it's looking good...Third wobble, could it be? You've caught a CAPmon? And the ball comes to a rest. Looks like you've caught yourself a Bolderdash! You pick up thr Poke Ball & pick up a Smooth Rock the Sudowoodo left behind, & seeing nothing else, you move on.

Abilities:

Technician: (Innate) This Pokemon is more skilled at performing weaker moves, causing any of their attacks that normally deal 6 or below base damage to have their base damage multiplied by 1.5. (e.g. Aerial Ace goes from 6 to 9, Mach Punch goes from 4 to 6, etc.) The Energy Cost for a one-hit or two-hit attack is increased by one (1). Each hit in a multi-hit move is boosted by one (1) damage, and the Energy Cost for multi-hit attacks is increased by two (2).
Mold Breaker (DW): (Innate) Whenever this Pokemon attacks, it emits an invisible, blindingly quick pulse preceding the attack that disables the opponents natural abilities (e.g. Levitators plummet towards the ground before Earthquake hits, Volt Absorb will not absorb electric attacks, Clear Body does not prevent stat-drops, etc.)

Iron Dungeon - Hall of Mirrors

Bronzong jumps out of the blocks first & unleashes a weak tremour that strikes Electro for some damage & slows it down. Electro responds by aiming its crosshairs squarely on Bronzong, ready to strike! Not to worry, Bronzong sees what's coming & simply throws up a veil that will protect Bronzong for sure, as Electro lets rip a powerful blast of electricity which strikes the Bronzong, although, the veil did protect Bronzong to an extent...So, Bronzong then reverts to unleashing another tremour that hits Electro & slows it down further. Electro was having none of that, & simply takes a little break in response.

Fairly even start, looks like Bronzong won't be caught for a while yet...What will happen? Issue your actions.

Rock Crag - Horn-Scratched Tunnel

You continue on your merry way through the crag, up the massive slopes, before suddenly coming across another area. This place is a tunnel with noticeable scratch marks all over its sides. The Pokemon who live here have been slowly chipping away at the sides of the walls. You notice the tunnel is much wider than it is tall, the Pokemon apparently have little care for accommodating taller beings. From the looks of it though, this is a nest for the safety of younger Pokemon, even despite its scale. In order to continue you will have to purposely crouch down and enter the tunnel on your knees. Up ahead is a much larger hollow, where you suspect whatever watches over this den resides. In either case continuing could be risky. Which hollow shall you take?

a) Crawl into the narrow burrow.
b) Go into the larger hollow.

I am pretty sure Bronzong should have been slower when using Safeguard, since Float Stone doesn't give it priority and -1 on 60 speed is larger than 28 for sure. But, if your reffing is correct, then:

Substitute (15), Thunderbolt, chill

But if Bronzong should actually be paralyzed right now, then I will throw a Heal Ball, and if that fails, a Sport Ball.

Yes, I'm dumb. I thought Float Stone added priortiy to any move, not just attacks... :|
Also, I lied again, that and WHY ARE STEEL TYPES SO USLESS AGAINST STEEL TYPES???

You throw the Heal Ball & Bronzong goes inside. The ball drops as you anxiously await to see if it catches or not. First wobble, nothing. Second wobble, not too bad. Third wobble, looks like touch & go here...Rest. Lucky you, you caught yourself a Bronzong. Picking up the Heal Ball & seeing nothing else, you move on.

Nature: Brave (+1 Atk; Speed/1.15, Evasion -10)
Type: Steel/Psychic
Steel: Steel STAB; Immune to Sandstorm, highly insusceptible to toxic attacks, but can be corroded specifically by Acid and Acid Spray, can be magnetized. Superior senses in high-metal environments like construction sites or factories.
Psychic: Psychic STAB; less susceptible to blinding, more susceptible to sound-based assaults as far as locking on with Psychic attacks, can lift and throw opponents with Psychic attacks regardless of weight difference. Psychic-type attacks are not godlike and cannot be used as a catchall for Disabling, Binding, and redirecting opposing attacks.

Abilities:
Levitate (Trait) This Pokemon naturally floats above the earth when released or easily takes flight, evading Ground moves like Bulldoze, Dig, Earthquake, and Magnitude. Other Ground moves can still hit. Levitate Pokemon will retain the Levitate trait when they use Skill Swap on an enemy, and will steal the opponent's ability (the user can specify if they want a foe or ally to gain Levitate from a Skill Swap.) If a Pokemon with Levitate uses Role Play, they will copy the opponent's abilities and retain Levitate.
Heatproof: (Innate)This Pokemon's mirror-like alloyed skin protects it from Fire-type attacks, reducing the type effectiveness of Fire-typed attacks to the next level of resistance (2x weak becomes neutral, neutral becomes resistance, etc.) The damage inflicted by burns is also cut in half.
Heavy Metal (DW): (Innate) The Pokemon's body structure is immensely dense, doubling its actual weight. Additionally, when the Pokemon uses Giga Impact, Gyro Ball, Heat Crash, Heavy Slam, Tackle, recoil and uncontrollable attacks [Full list: Double-Edge, Giga Impact, Gyro Ball, Head Charge, Head Smash, Heat Crash, Heavy Slam, Hi Jump Kick, Jump Kick, Outrage, Petal Dance, Submission, Tackle, Take Down, Thrash, Volt Tackle, Wood Hammer, and Wild Charge] it will calculate using a Weight Class that adds a value equal to the Pokemon's Weight Class divided by their Size Class, minus (-) one (1). Rock Crag - Horn-Scratched Tunnel

So, you decide to go ahead & crawl into the narrow burrow, thinking that it will take you to Regirock. Will it? No. Instead, what you come across is a nest of Rhyhorn. Their eyesight isn't very good but they can sniff you out. It looks like they want to play. They aren't very experienced, but that might make it worse. They probably don't know just ramming into you might cause you serious injury.

Then again, maybe they do.

Three of them charge you at once.

The dumb things just simply do that. Time to duel, it seems...

Iron Dungeon - External Staircase

Going to the edge of the Hall of Mirrors, you find a teleporter & take it. It takes you to the edge of a forest, which you were tempted to take, but you were directly next to a staircase which went upwards. Despite fearing another climb, you reluctantly take it. Through the endless climbing upwards, you see one thing worthy of note: Light! Sweet, fresh light at the end of the tunnel! So you run towards it, & you find yourself outside! What you come across, however, is a staircase that runs along the outside of the large steel tower. You find that there are no rails and that the wind is whipping dangerously. Carefully, you maneuver slowly around the stairs to try to avoid falling, but just then, two Skarmory soar past and begin making a round to attack you!

You can either stand on this precarious perch and face the Skarmory, or you can rush your way across and suffer whatever attacks the Skarmory try to inflict. What will you do?

a) Rush across the stairs to the end
b) Attack the Skarmory!

Rock Crag - Horn-Scratched Tunnel

Astraea begins the bout by bracing itself for impact, while Magcargo decides to take in the sunlight available. Nestor is bored & simple lets off a loud yawn, which one of the Rhyhorn repeats, as the Rhyhorn begin the charge. The first whacks Astraea with a powerful jab of her horn, whom Astraea survives through its second wind, while the two males jab Nestor with their horns. Magcargo then releases the sunlight & fires it at the female Rhyhorn as a beam which critically damages the Rhyhorn.

Magcargo then continues to take in more sunlight as Astraea sneaks up to a Rhyhorn & steals some life force from it. Nestor then fires corrosive, salted water which blasts the Rhyhorn that got life force stolen, as all three ganged up on Astraea, targeting it with their horns, though through all their squabbling, one of them couldn't reach Astraea with his & missed as a result. At this point, Magcargo released another beam at a desperately wounded Rhyhorn, knocking it out.

So, one down, two to go. Much to your luck, your Pokemon appear to be badly battered & bruised, with only a fresh Bolderdash waiting in the wings. How shall you go about this round? Issue your actions.

Wow, almost at the end already. As cool as it would be to have a Skarmory, it's not worth it. I'll rush across to the end.

Dammit. We were doing reasonably well too, considering our luck.

Starmie: Brine (Rhyhorn B)
Slowking: Surf (Rhyhorn B)
Magcargo: Chill

Then throw a Heal Ball at Rhyhorn C. If Rhyhorn B is still alive by some miracle, use Starmie use Chill, Slowking use Brine (Rhyhorn B) or Chill if B is dead and Magcargo use Solarbeam (Rhyhorn B).

Damn.

Iron Dungeon - External Staircase

You rush across the stairway to the end as quick as you can, but in your rush accidentally drop two of your Heal Balls over the side of the ledge! You curse at your clumsiness, but are just glad that you moved quick enough to avoid attack from the Skarmory. You continue on your way up, glad that you got away from the Skarmory, & through the door you go.

Iron Dungeon - Iron Cage

So, as you re-enter the tower, you come across the steepest staircases, far more gruelling than ever before, & enough ot make you feel exhausted, but as you mount a staircase, you see more light, so you hike your way up & you find yourself at the roof of the Iron Dungeon. Is this it, you think...But it isn't. You find a hole on the other side of the roof, but it looks dangerous, & it's very windy, so while you think it's a good time to admire the view, it's not a good time to do so. So cautiously you make your way down a hole & fall down...A long way...You crash land & find yourself in a place loaded to the gills with...shrapnel. This is the pit of the desolate dungeon surrounded by what appears to be a junkyard of broken machine parts. Shrapnel is littered around the room in a disgusting, decrepit clutter. The entire room has a dingy quality to it, despite having all the pretense of a regal palace. What isn't covered in junk shines with an unnatural sheen, polished beyond all reason. Most unfathomable is a giant thrown in the background that has all the markings of a machine, complete with gear prints, and sitting on the thrown is an iron king whose weapon of choice appears to be vicious claws. Whatever the case may be, he doesn't look honorable, but is clearly wealthy beyond imagine, for in his parlor lies a stone on a pedestal that exactly matches the stone in the mosaic at the entrance.

You grab the item and obtain the Steel Pearl

A ghastly mechanical screech follows, and the statue of the king stands up and glares menacingly. He approaches with immense, clanging steps. As he stands before you, a giant weights fall, sealing the doors. The Kings entire body starts evaporating into a sickening iron shrapnel, and before you the king transforms into a Registeel. Registeel gives a cry and all of the junk accumulated in the room arises and starts whirlwing about. Chunks of it hit your skin and start ripping the edges of your clothes... This is not going well...Worst yet, a Bastiodon decides to join the party as well to help out Registeel. The final battle. Everything you've done up to now has all come down to this. Can you win? Let the battle begin.

Arena Rules:
Constant, unalterable Shrapnel Weather. Shrapnel weather does 3 DPA to every non-Steel type, and adjusts for type. Types resistant to Steel will take 2DPA, types weak to Steel will take 4 DPA. Sandstorm or Hail can be added to Shrapnel, but will not override it.
Strong magnetic field disables Magnet Pull abilities and prevents Pokemon other than Registeel from using Magnet Rise.
All of the junk makes Steel-types more focused, increasing their accuracy by 10 (flat)
Item cannot be removed from boss, however it can be Embargoed or Magic Roomed.

IT'S RAINING SHRAPNEL...

Rock Crag - Horn-Scratched Tunnel

Astraea opens by firing a jet of corrosive water at one of the Rhyhorns, dealing a lot of damage, while Magcargo simply takes a break. Nestor then somehow finds a water source & lets rip a powerful tidal wave which drenches everyone, knocking out one of the Rhyhorns, leaving one left. That one Rhyhorn decides to release an almighty tremour as revenge, knocking out Astraea & Magcargo & leaving Nestor clinging on to his life, as the Rhyhorn becomes so drowsy, that he fell asleep.

Angry at this, you throw a Heal Ball at it, & it goes inside. First wobble, nothing. Second wobble, nothing. Third wobble, still nothing. Then the ball comes to a rest & Rhyhorn is yours. While you celebrate the occasion, it does not replace the fact that you lost 2 of your mons. But then again, you do find a set of Pokeballs contained in a sack in the corner. It has 3 Pokeballs, 1 Premier Ball, and 1 Luxury Ball. After picking them up, you decide to move on.

Rock Crag - Night Vista

You continue up the massive slopes, which are taking a massive toll on you, & eventually, you fing another chamberm, which you go inside. What you come across is a beautiful vista that overlooks Timeless Tower. Under the beautiful moonlight, You can spot the bridge you came here in, and you still look up at the massive height of the main tower. You can spot the Iron Dungeon from here as well, where C$FP is basically...dominating. There is some room to move up and get a better view, though there might be wild Pokemon here. What shall you do?

a) Approach the edge of the Vista.
b) Stay close to the wall and move on.

You can nickname Rhyhorn if you wish...
