Tall Grass

Unlike the Grass Flat, the grass here seems wild and untouched; however, the stalks are yellowed and the flowers wilted for some strange reason. As the grass nearly comes up to your shoulders, you tread cautiously—there's no point blundering in when you can't see too well in front of you. The closeness of the grass seems to favor Grass-type Pokemon as well as generally smaller Pokemon, though other ones seem to do fine here as well.

  • One (1) stage evasion boost for Pokemon with a Size Class of one (1) that is maintained at the end of each round.

You quickly take the rocky path, as your pokemon follow hastily behind. The path tires your pokemon out, and then suddenly WHOOSH! you look back in horror as the Shear blasts the whole path, scoring a dangerous blow on your pokemon! I guess you didn't pick wisely...

As you emerge from the paths, you notice that they converge in a small clearing. From the clearing, however, there is only one narrow path forward, surrounded by a dense layer of trees. You could go forward, but you see shears constantly ripping back and forth across the path. Alternatively, you could wait a little longer, but who knows what staying in a clearing might do?

Sheer Shears

You decide to march into the path, your Pokemon following behind you. As expected, the wind shears begin to slice their way through your team, and, hearing their cries, you pick up the pace and end up dashing through the narrow path. At the end is another clearing, though there seem to be no signs of imminent danger. Your Pokemon seem to have been injured, though, and they also seem to have tired a bit from running so much. Best to keep moving, though.

Firefly, Firefly

Strolling along, you notice that the terrain you've been walking across is awfully flat; you haven't seen many valleys or mountains, just the occasional hill and groves and groves of assorted trees and shrubbery. As if to purposely disrupt this train of thought, the ground in front of you suddenly slopes down into what seems to be a valley of sorts; the slope is quite steep, although you might be in for a good adventure if you choose to go down. On the other hand, you could simply ignore this avenue for excitement and take a detour...

Firefly, Firefly

You decide that you're in the mood for an adventure, you attempt to make your way down the steep slope, digging your heels into the ground while simultaneously praying that you won't keel over and roll like a snowball down the hill. Unfortunately for you, that's exactly what happens; one of your feet snag on a nearby root, tripping you and causing you to, you guessed it, go rolling like a snowball down the hill. Some of your Pokemon roll down along with you, although others are somewhat more agile and scramble down safely; the ones that do roll are somewhat hurt in the process, but they're all mostly fine. When you check your backpack for lost items, though, you realize that a few of your Pokeballs are missing—they must've rolled out while you were rolling about. Oh well.

The valley is an interesting sight to behold; the grass is very green, although the trees seem skeletal and nearly dead. Moreover, the only moving life that you see are some small bugs, with firefly-like qualities; they seem to draw brilliant masterpieces with light as they hover lazily throughout. What catches your eye, though, is a carefully arranged pile of items lying off in the side, underneath one of the trees. From a faraway glance, you see some batteries and light bulbs as well as other things that may be of use: Pokeballs. There doesn't seem to be a trap around it, although you never know...

Firefly, Firefly

Feeling lucky, you decide to take some items from the cache. You end up finding a Cell Battery and a Great Ball and quickly place them into your backpack. Grinning, you turn around to leave the valley before anyone sees you; unfortunately, it seems like many things have already saw you. Two of the firefly bugs you saw earlier have clustered around you and your Pokemon; staring viciously at you—especially your backpack—they decide to attack as a pair.

Lily Pond

Already a bit exhausted from walking for so long, you begin to feel a sense of irritation as well—you've seen countless of ponds and small bodies of water already, and they look pretty much identical to each other. However, when you arrive at yet another pond, you're greeted by a new sight: lily pads floating around on the top. The pads are remarkably big; it seems that each one would be able to support your weight, providing that you didn't stay standing on one for too long of a duration. Your childish instincts perk up at this sight, hopeful that you'll accede to them and hop across the lily pads, conveniently placed in a relatively straight path across the center of the lake. Of course, being so deep in the meadow by now, there are bound to be dangers lurking...

Lily Pond

Choosing the most fun option, you decide to risk the possible dangers and hop on over the lily pad trail. You and your Pokemon have a ton of fun doing so, and continue on deeper into the meadow, with higher spirits and a more cheery outlook on this endeavor; in fact, one of your Pokemon seems to have even found a
Cherish Ball while jumping around! You're still not sure whether there was any danger back at the lily pond, but that's fairly trivial now.

Gracidea Meadow

The most verdant of all meadows—a grassy hill, with birdsong and blooming flowers abundant. The air is surprisingly crisp and clean, a result of the cleansing of toxins that occurs in the meadow every so often. The skies seem to be permanently clear, with soft—not harsh—sunlight always lighting the arena up. Trees enclose the majority of the perimeter, isolating this verdant patch of grassland. However, the meadow does seem to have a minor problem with it: the scents that the flowers and roses let out tend to be overpowering, even having the potential to lull Pokemon to sleep from time to time; it takes an accustoming to the environment to overcome this possibility. Moreover, the many flower patches on the ground make it rather hard to see Shaymin...

  • Arena Type: Grassland
  • No water source present.
  • Only Sun is allowed. All other weathers fail in this arena.
  • Poison-type attacks have their BAP halved due to Shaymin's cleansing.
  • Allied Pokemon without a Grass typing have a chance to be lulled to sleep at the end of each round.

Gracidea Meadow

Exhausted by the ordeals that have plagued you since you stepped foot into the meadow, you finally arrive at a small clearing, surrounded by tight-knit trees. The air is surprisingly cool and crisp, and a delightful aroma of flowers wafts through. You see nothing interesting, with the exception of a beautifully colored patch of flowers in the precise center. For some strange reason, there seems to be a hole in the center of the patch, as if a flower is missing... It seems as if disturbing this delicate balance might not be the best idea, but doing nothing isn't exactly going to accomplish anything. What do you do?

Player Options
a) Examine the flower patch
b) Stay and do nothing

Wasn't this the place? I don't see any treasure...dammit, another bust...

...wait...that flower I got...it's blooming. And that hole in the patch over there...is that...is this flower some sort of key?

...Well! Only one way to find out!

Examining the flower patch.

Gracidea Meadow

As you approach the patch of flowers, attempting to discern what exactly is going on, something in the patch stirs and jumps out at you! Seeing the Gracidea, the Pokemon snatches it out of your grasp and suddenly transforms, becoming slightly larger and taking into the air. Despite what seems like its gratitude to you for bringing the flower back, it doesn't seem to want you to get any closer. Once again, you're stuck in a rut—this is undoubtedly the Pokemon that you have been waiting to find, but going closer might prove fatal. What do you do?

Huh. Looks like he's trying to guard something. Maybe there...uh-oh...

He wouldn't tell me, actually...he broke down when I asked. Kept rambling about some knight of flowers or something. Whatever it was, it kicked his ass.
