Anti-lead Gallade

Gallade (M) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Taunt / Magic Coat
- Memento
- Close Combat
- Knock Off / Zen Headbutt
This lordly Gallade set aims to counter hazard leads for offensive teams using the element of surprise. Its interesting movepool gives it many options, such as magic coat or Taunt to stop hazards and memento support a set up sweeper waiting in the back. It can also nearly 2hko just about every hazard setter in RU which is also cool.

Memento is cool. So....

Gallade @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- Knock Off
- Zen Headbutt
- Memento

Ok, so Gallade doesn't have the raw power of Medicham as a Scarf mon. That said, Gallade has some neat advantages over its counterpart. First would be Gallade's much better special bulk, meaning it can actually tank most neutral special attacks at least once if it has too. Another is Gallade's much safer Fighting STAB, Close Combat, which is still pretty strong in its own right. Knock Off is another obvious boon for Gallade over Medicham as it means fat Ghosts and Psychics aren't completely safe. However, the best advantage Scarf Gallade has lies in Memento. Unless the opponent has a faster threat or a Pokemon behind a Substitute, Gallade can very easily come in once it has removed faster threats and use Memento in order to allow the likes of Cobalion, Delphox, and Virizion to come in and freely set up late-game. Cobalion is especially dangerous considering Memento will likely give Cobalion a free Substitute regardless of what the opponent does, but generally any setup sweeper can take advantage of the opening created by a Scarf Memento. The EVs and nature are pretty basic for a physical Scarf user and Gallade's base 125 Attack is still more than enough to leave a mark on its own late-game.

*me just messing around with glade and stuff*

Gallade (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- Zen Headbutt
- Knock Off / Trick
- Destiny Bond

Hm... not much to explain here, other than the fact this gallade set could be used for some nifty stallbreaking and has a quite nice surprise factor. EVs are pretty much self explanatory, allowing gallade to hit as hard and as fast as possible.. Destiny Bond, being the spotlight of this set, is quite a nifty move allowing it to take down any pokemon that kills gallade with an attack. If coverage is not minded (it should be, anyway), Knock off can be replaced with Trick, allowing it to cripple a bulky switchin like spiritomb or aromatisse.

Can I ask what the standard sets are so I don't post them? Was gonna post SpDef since it sees literally zero usage but it's a known gen 5 set.

Banned deucer.

Outside of the one you mentioned there's Swords Dance, Choice Band, Bulk Up, and I guess Choice Scarf even though Medicham does the last one better...

Gallade (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 HP / 72 SpD / 184 Spe
Careful Nature
- Drain Punch
- Will-O-Wisp
- Bulk Up
- Protect / Substitute

to verify, this set is p.dookie atm, given it's noivern and reuniclus food, but with both gone, this will become actually legitimately decent. can tank a bunch of special attackers, and w/sub it's essentially bashing all relevant passive 'mons 1v1 sans aromatisse (momo can't 2hko subs, defensive growth fails to break, etc.). wisp just has tons of early-game utility, in addition to allowing it to boost into vanilla physical 'mons real nicely. tect kinda substantiates gallade's mid-game value here, and i fetishize protect on any 'reliable recovery'-less defensively inclined 'mon (especially if it has status options), but if you want this to be able to play into and beat momo, amoonguss, w.e (stuff w/status) and can't splurge for cleric support either, sub is ayte. speed is cool here for a tankmon, since being over the exploud, non-scarf tyrantrum, scrafty, etc. benchmark is actually mad useful for slower squads. it's also super hip and / or fly >('-')>

Gallade (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Steadfast
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Encore
- Snatch

- Close Combat
- Zen Headbutt

Certainly a stretch but I've actually used this set a few times and it's pretty funky when you can catch an opponent off guard. Basically Encore stops set up and can protect from some damage if you need to. If you Encore into a set up move or status move you favor, Snatch that shit and throw it right back onto the opponent. Alomomola about to Wish? Take it. Toxic from a stally team? Encore and throw it back with Snatch. Max speed and attack so you can do something back to opp, and STABs occupy last two spots.

Gallade (M) @ Lum Berry
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Disable
- Swords Dance
- Drain Punch
- Knock Off/Zen Headbutt

This is just plain old SD with a not so standard move, Disable. Disable allows Gallade to set up on mons that are either choice locked or only have a certain move to touch you with. Disable also can prevent further status prevention, for instance Gallade can switch into an Amoongus that is using spore to which Gallade can disable and prevent any other spores. Originally, I was thinking of SubDisable but it is probably too weak/not enough bulk to pull off. Anyway, Drain Punch and Knock Off are standard coverage moves and you can run Zen Headbutt if you want

Gallade (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe OR 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant / Jolly Nature
- Substitute
- Drain Punch / Close Combat
- Encore
- Knock Off / Zen Headbutt

Something wants to statut you but failed because you're Sub Gallade? Good
Now let's push it even further with this great move: Encore
Encore forces switches in, which is really nice, and when you know most of Gallade's big checks & counters are kind of passive & relying on their recoveries + statut to take down said Gallade, it's a really viable option to add to your Sub Gallade.
The lack of 3 Attacks doesn't hurt Gallade that much too, as Fighting + Dark have great coverage, you can go for Zen headbutt in case you want to hurt Poison types, but it's pretty eh, you already force most of them out except Drap & Skun who aren't affected. You can run Close Combat too, to push the idea of punishing your opponent's switches even further, but Drain Punch is more often than enough the better option on any Substitute Gallade.
Edit: Take this Gallade for the nominations, no one will probably talk about the 2nd set i'll mention, this is just for the sake of
showing more diverse sets for your Gallade to run.

Gallade (M) @ Lum Berry
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Leaf Blade
- Drain Punch
- Knock Off

A more " fuck stall " oriented Gallade, Leaf Blade allows SD Gallade to take down Unaware Quagsire & has very good chance to 2HKO with Knock Off + Leaf Blade Defensive Spiritomb ( 97,8% - 115,3% ), 2 of his mightiest counters that you will often see in stall.

Gallade (M) @ Light Clay
Ability: Steadfast
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Light Screen
- Reflect
- Memento
- Taunt/Leaf Blade/Close Combat/Wish

A dual screens + Memento set that cuts your opponent's power by 75%. Unlike Uxie, Gallade has a much better offensive presence and a larger variety of support moves. Leaf Blade 2HKOs all Quagsire variants, who could otherwise wall your setup sweeper, while Close Combat does damage to the only good Defiant abuser in RU, Braviary. Wish + Memento is a great combo late-game.
