Whimsicott is one of the best users of Assault Vest in RU. Thanks to its unique Grass / Fairy typing, good bulk, great Speed, strong STAB moves, one of which provides recovery, and the ever-handy U-turn, Assault Vest Whimsicott makes for a good pivot that can keep itself healthy, check top threats, and maintain momentum. It can also easily handle Substitute users thanks to Infiltrator. This set also counters one of RU's possible new drops, Kingdra, as it can even take the most common coverage move on Kingdra, Hidden Power Poison, thanks to Assault Vest:

252+ SpA Kingdra Hidden Power Poison vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Assault Vest Whimsicott: 200-236 (76.3 - 90%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Overall, Assault Vest Whimsicott is a great, underrated set that should really be seeing more usage than it does currently.

May I present to you lovely folks, based SubTicklewind Whimsicott which also beats stuff 1 on 1 occasionally.

- Tickle / Tailwind

The HP EVs give it a Lefties number, the Speed investment beats L@ti's and other 110s and the given SpA 2HKO's Keldeo/Terrak and other things weak to Moonblast so Whimsicott isn't purely deadweight. The 4th move slot is where it gets cool, imo, as the primary option Tickle is a fun move to use when paired with a strong physical attacker (like Terrakion teehee). For those that don't know, Tickle drops the opponents Atk and Def 1 stage so you can use it with Prankster to get some surprise KOs. Tailwind is an option as well if you need the speed.

the set is pretty self explanatory, destroy stuff with moonblast + energy ball or you can use tailwind to support your team if needed.
hurricane over tailwind (and chlorophyll over prankster) is an option if you're afraid of amoonguss / venusaur; if you're willing to make some rolls hurricane can be quite devastating on an unprepared chlorosaur (which you outspeed because chlorophyll).

so yeah, offensive whimsicott without AV. see it in action here!

This Whimsicott spread really isn't seen enough in the doubles metagame. If you are unfamiliar with this strategy (as I'm sure you are), the basic idea is to use the move Beat Up on Terrakion (another mon that should be used more). This in turn maxes out Terrakion's attack leading to an easy 6-0 sweep of the opposing team. It is a strategy that has zero weakness or flaws and is guaranteed a 6-0 sweep.

EV spread explanation: 252 speed ensures that whimsicott outspeeds the standard whimsicott (248 speed)

Calcs:
0- Atk Whimsicott Beat Up vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Terrakion: 5-10 (2% - 4%) -- guaranteed sweep
