Just like in BW, ties are technically non-existant in XY, to the best of my knowledge anyway. Even if both last Pokemon faint at the same time, a winner will be declared.

Page 5 of that details the scenarios in which a tie would normally occur. Myself and Arcticblast just tested the if both Pokemon faint from sandstorm scenario, and a winner was declared. H7QG - WWWW - WWW3 - NK68

This means for our simulators and tournaments, a winner will always be declared in XY, even if it seemingly looks like a tie occurred.

If someone has evidence to the contrary, now would be the time to bring it up.

I really don't see why we shouldn't keep ties even if the game technically doesn't include them we could still treat these scenarios as a tie on our simulators. I was never a fan of the Self-KO-Clause, if you are able to force a tie with Explosion etc. why should that result in a loss for you its not like it takes less skill to end the game this way.
It makes sense for the VGC to not have ties since it is a live tournament where time is an issue, however for most of our tournaments (except tour) and the ladder time isn't an issue at all and tie scenarios are incredibly rare in pokemon anyway (at least in singles only around 1% of all matches, if not less, result in a tie) so i don't get why we should include these tie breakers especially since it seems kinda arbitrary who gets the win in these scenarios.

The thing is, its really not a clause at all. Its how the game is programmed. The clause, if there was one, would be making it a tie. If you use explosion, it would not be us telling you "we don't want you to do that so you lose," it would be the game making the decision. Its no more arbitrary than a move having a secondary effect chance or anything. Sure, you might not see the reason for it, but its just the way the game is.

Especially when you consider there is little to no advantage in actually having ties ever in any important battle competition, it makes a lot of sense to be accurate to the game. Now, iirc, it was technical issues that prevented us from having this up until now, and as long as that is the case, then that makes sense not to have it. But if possible, I see no reason not to go with this.

Technically I think it is possible for a game to tie, due to the way the timer works:
Every wifi game has the timer on automatically in XY

Match Time Limit: 60 minutes
Turn Time Limit: 99 seconds
If the Turn Time Limit is exceeded, the move in the first slot is used for each Pokemon that has not selected a move.
If the Match Time Limit is exceeded, tiebreaker mechanics are used to determine the outcome of the match.

1) The player with the most Pokemon fainted loses.
2) The player with the highest Current Party HP to Total Party HP ratio wins.
3) The player with the most individual Hit Points wins.

If both players are equal in all three conditions, the match is a draw.

We are waiting on one bug to be fixed before we can finally get rid of ties. Trust me nobody wants this gone more than I do.

- EDIT -

Specifically it's the Self-KO one. Once we can get fainting done in the proper order, non-timer related ties will be removed in both BW and XY

Even if both last Pokemon faint at the same time, a winner will be declared.
Pokémon will never both faint at the same time. Even if they're animated to faint at the same time, the game's code still makes one of them faint first, in a deterministic way that we can replicate.

The problem is, because of a certain bug that I haven't had the time to fix, PS's faint order is not the same order as XY's faint order, so if we just straight-up implemented "last fainter wins", the loser would win in many cases (mainly Explosion). For that reason, we have ties be the default until we can get that bug fixed.
