[OVERVIEW]
Tornadus-T is a top threat in the OU metagame for several reasons. Chief among them is access to a strong Flying STAB move in Hurricane and complementary coverage to break down Pokemon that resist Rock. Tornadus-T also sports a base 121 Speed stat, which allows it to outspeed much of the unboosted OU metagame. It also has access to many utility options, such as U-turn and Knock Off, which enable Tornadus to weaken checks and generate momentum. Regenerator is one of Tornadus-T's greatest assets, as it gives it the ability to outlast its checks and pairs extremely well with U-turn, enabling it to simultaneously attack, scout the opposing player, send a teammate in for free, and recover a third of its health. Regenerator also makes Tornadus-T one of the few Pokemon that can use Assault Vest effectively. Not all is great for Tornadus-T, however, as its Stealth Rock weakness can lessen the recovery from Regenerator. In addition, its movepool forces it to go mixed to make good use of it. While a mono-Flying typing helps Tornadus-T check some key threats, it is overall rather lackluster defensively.

Moves
========
Hurricane provides a strong Flying STAB move, enabling Tornadus-T to OHKO Serperior and Keldeo. Fighting coverage hits almost all Pokemon that resist Flying either neutrally or super-effectively. Superpower deals more damage to specially bulky Pokemon such as Heatran, Raikou, and Chansey; however, the Attack and Defense drops can be detrimental in many cases. Focus Blast deals more damage than Superpower on average, hitting Rotom-W and Mega Manectric quite hard; however, it suffers from bad accuracy. Alternatively, Heat Wave can be used to hit Mega Metagross, Ferrothorn, Skarmory, specially defensive Mega Scizor, and Klefki harder than any other move; however, it misses out on Heatran, Tyranitar, and Mega Diancie. U-turn enables Tornadus-T to generate momentum and pairs very well with Regenerator, as every time Tornadus-T uses it, it gains a large chunk of its health back. Knock Off provides great utility by removing items such as Leftovers, Life Orb, and Choice Scarf from common switch-ins to Tornadus-T.

160 Special Attack EVs guarantee an OHKO on Keldeo with Hurricane, which Assault Vest Tornadus-T is an effective check to. Maximum Speed investment with a positive Speed nature enables Tornadus-T to Speed tie with opposing Tornadus-T as well as outspeed Alakazam, Starmie, Raikou, and Choice Scarf Tyranitar. The remaining EVs are put into HP in order to give Tornadus-T a solid amount of special bulk. A Hasty nature is used so as not to compromise Superpower's power or Tornadus-T's special bulk. Alternatively, a bulkier spread of 168 HP / 88 SpA / 252 Spe is powerful enough to OHKO Keldeo after Stealth Rock damage and has enough bulk to always avoid being 2HKOed by Choice Specs Keldeo's Scald. If Focus Blast or Heat Wave is chosen, a Timid nature should be used, as U-turn and Knock Off are purely used for utility, making the added physical bulk provided by running Timid instead of Hasty more important than the increased power on these two moves. Regenerator lets Tornadus-T consistently take on special attackers over the course of the battle thanks to the passive recovery it provides and makes it very difficult to wear down via chip damage. An Assault Vest enables Tornadus-T to take special hits from the likes of Keldeo and Gengar much more easily and pairs very well with Regenerator, which enables it to restore its health without using a recovery move prohibited by Assault Vest.
Usage Tips
========
Tornadus-T should be sent in on special attackers that it checks such as Keldeo, Gengar, and Serperior. It should almost exclusively use U-turn and Knock Off early- and mid- game so as to wear down the opposing team while scouting the opponent’s reaction to Tornadus-T and supporting its teammates. It should only start using Hurricane once its checks have been sufficiently weakened or if not doing so may lead your team to losing a Pokemon. Tornadus-T's Fighting or Fire coverage should be used against Pokemon that are weak to it and resist Hurricane.
Team Options
========
Assault Vest Tornadus-T functions well on balance teams that require a check to special attackers such as Keldeo, Mega Venusaur, Starmie, and Serperior that can also maintain offensive momentum. It also fits rather well on Spikes-stacking teams because most of its checks are vulnerable to entry hazards and the most common entry hazard removers in OU, Latios, Latias, and Starmie, are directly threatened by Tornadus-T, which can easily U-turn out of them. Checks to Electric-types which are among Tornadus-T's most common checks, are helpful as well. Other Electric-, Ground-, and Dragon-types such as Raikou, Hippowdon, and Latios are prime examples. While it does not resist Electric, Clefable also functions as a good answer to them thanks to its ability to absorb Will-O-Wisps from Rotom-W via Magic Guard. Other Volt Switch and U-turn users are helpful to form momentum-generating cores with Tornadus-T; Raikou and Landorus-T are examples of ideal partners, as they are also able to check Electric-types. Powerful physical attackers with acess to a priority attack or Speed-boosting move such as Talonflame, Bisharp, and Mega Charizard X are big threats to Tornadus-T, so a bulky physical wall such as Garchomp or Hippowdon can help Tornadus-T by dealing with these Pokemon. Entry hazard removal in the form of Rapid Spin and Defog is recommended due to Tornadus-T's Stealth Rock weakness; however, it is not required because, thanks to Regenerator, Tornadus-T gains more health by switching out than it does by taking Stealth Rock damage (33% as opposed to 25%). If Heat Wave is used, Dugtrio is a good partner because it can trap Heatran and Diancie, which wall it otherwise; furthermore, Tornadus-T can easily give Dugtrio a free switch into these Pokemon with U-turn.

Moves
========
Hurricane is Tornadus-T's best STAB move, with its bad accuracy being compensated by its raw power and 30% confusion rate. A Fighting-type move offers almost perfect coverage alongside Hurricane, with Superpower being far more accurate and hitting specially bulky Pokemon such as Assault Vest Raikou and Chansey harder and Focus Blast hitting physically bulky Pokemon that resist Flying such as Rotom-W and Mega Metagross much harder without lowering Tornadus-T's stats. However, Heat Wave can be used over Fighting-type coverage in order to hit certain Steel-types like Skarmory, Scizor, Ferrothorn and Klefki, and has the advantage of being both reliable and drawback-free, at the cost of being unable to hit Heatran, Rotom-W, and Rock-types in general. U-turn provides momentum and enables Tornadus-T to wear down and eventually outlast its checks, especially in tandem with Regenerator. Knock Off provides great general utility, crippling Tornadus-T's checks that rely on Leftovers or Choice Scarf such as Rotom-W, Jirachi, and Landorus-T. Taunt can be used over Knock Off to stallbreak more easily, and make certain checks to Tornadus-T easier to take advantage of or wear down.

76 Attack EVs allow Tornadus-T to OHKO standard support Tyranitar and offensive Excadrill with Superpower. Maximum Speed investment with a Speed-boosting nature is chosen so that Tornadus-T can outspeed as many Pokemon as possible and at least Speed tie with opposing Tornadus-T. A Naive nature is preferred to take on priority users such as Scizor, Azumarill and Bisharp better; however, a Hasty nature can be chosen over Naive so that Tornadus-T can switch into special attackers such as Keldeo and Serperior more easily. The remaining EVs go into Special Attack to maximize Hurricane's power. If Focus Blast is chosen over Superpower, an EV spread of 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe is optimal because U-turn and Knock Off are both mainly used for utility as opposed to damage. Regenerator enables Tornadus-T to outlast its checks by healing a solid chunk of its health every time it uses U-turn or switches out directly. A Life Orb is used in order to increase Tornadus-T's damage output and because of its excellent synergy with Regenerator, which negates some the Life Orb damage every time Tornadus-T switches out.
Usage Tips
========
Early on in the battle, U-turn should be used frequently so as to gauge your opponent's reaction to Tornadus-T, keep up the offensive momentum of your team, get another teammate onto the field for free, and wear down Tornadus-T's checks. Knock Off can also be used so as to cripple Pokemon that rely on their item to check Tornadus-T. Once Tornadus-T's checks are weak enough, use Hurricane to deal great damage, and use Superpower or Focus Blast on Pokemon that resist Hurricane. Try to get Tornadus-T in via slow pivoting so that it does not get worn down too much. If it gets weakened and has to rely on Hurricane to KO a foe that can easily KO it back, it's usually better to not take the risk of missing Hurricane and U-turn out, allowing Tornadus-T to get some of its health back in the process.
Team Options
========
Tornadus-T appreciates support from checks to common Electric-types such as Mega Manectric and Rotom-W. Ground-, Dragon-, and Electric-types such as Hippowdon, Kyurem-B, and Mega Manectric itself are examples of good teammates in this regard. Raikou and Choice Scarf Landorus-T are particularly good examples because they form a VoltTurn core with it. Tornadus-T enjoys support from Pokemon that can weaken its checks; for example, Assault Vest Azumarill can bait in Electric-types such as Rotom-W, Thundurus, and Mega Manectric, weaking them to a range where they can no longer switch into Tornadus-T. It fits particularly well on entry hazard-stacking teams, as many of its checks are easily worn down by entryhazards (Thundurus, Zapdos, Rotom-W, and specially defensive Talonflame by Stealth Rock, and Mega Manectric, Hippowdon, and Mega Metagross by Spikes). Entry removal from the likes of Latios, Latias, Excadrill, and bulky Starmie is also very helpful due to Tornadus-T's weakness to Stealth Rock. Latios and Latias work particularly well because of their resistance to Electric. However, spinners such as Excadrill and Starmie are better on entry hazard-stacking teams, with Excadrill being particularly good for its ability to check Electric-types, Dragon-types, and certain Steel-types all at once. Life Orb Tornadus-T functions extremely well on rain teams because it gains perfect accuracy on Hurricane and deals with Grass-types, which heavily threaten this playstyle.
[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============
Iron Tail is an option to hit Mega Diancie, which otherwise hard checks Tornadus-T, and is guaranteed to 2HKO standard Clefable when boosted by Life Orb. Grass Knot enables Tornadus-T to reliably 2HKO Hippowdon without having to worry about Hurricane missing. Icy Wind and Hidden Power Ice can both be used to 2HKO Gliscor. Icy Wind also helps Tornadus-T beat Pokemon that attempt to check it by outspeeding it, such as Mega Aerodactyl; however, Hidden Power Ice from the Assault Vest set guarantees the 2HKO on Gliscor, which Icy Wind does not. Rain Dance can be used on rain teams in need of a secondary rain setter, while Tailwind can also be used to provide support for offensive teammates.
Checks and Counters
===================
**Electric-types**: Zapdos and Thundurus are among the best Tornadus-T checks because they resist Hurricane, U-turn, and Tornadus-T's Fighting coverage moves. Rotom-W can take any hit besides Life Orb-boosted Focus Blast, while Mega Manectric outspeeds it and can deal a huge amount of damage with Thunderbolt. Raikou is also a decent answer to Tornadus-T, but it is worn down by repeated usage U-turn and cannot comfortably take Knock Off followed by Superpower.
**Special Walls**: Specially bulky Pokemon that are not weak to Tornadus-T's coverage moves such as Clefable, Hippowdon, and Talonflame can usually handle Tornadus-T, especially if they have reliable recovery, as this prevents them from getting worn down by U-turn and enables them to take advantage of Hurricane's poor accuracy. These Pokemon handle Tornadus-T particularly well if they have a Flying resistance, such as Skarmory, Jirachi, and Assault Vest Metagross. However, the former two are heavily crippled by Taunt, and the latter two are heavily crippled by Knock Off and worn down by U-turn.
**Rock-types**: Mega Aerodactyl is a very good answer to Tornadus-T, as it can take any of its coverage moves and OHKO back with Stone Edge. Mega Diancie can take anything bar Life Orb Focus Blast quite well and can OHKO Tornadus-T back with Diamond Storm.
**Faster Attackers**: Certain Choice Scarf users such as Landorus-T, Garchomp, Tyrantrum, and Magneton can switch into Hurricane or a Fighting-type coverage move and OHKO Tornadus-T back, but they cannot reliably switch into Knock Off because they will then lose their item. Weavile is naturally faster than Tornadus-T and can OHKO it with Icicle Crash.
